Prior to that event. We had a foul in the box which suppose to be a penalty to Arsenal. That wasn't given. We would have been 2-1 up. If that was done, then destiny would have been changed and Kai Harvertz would not need to dive.
Not at all, they were utterly useless in the first half except for just packing their own box and hoofing it away, got gifted a goal and then spent the rest of the game wasting time. Their left side of defence was very good though. 72% posession overall for Arsenal says everything about any ambition they had.

As an arsenal fan they weren’t clear, they definitely weren’t pens, we definitely got a bit lucky he didn’t get sent off but I’ll take that.
The one on Gabriel is a clear penalty

The difference in the ways teams play Arsenal opposed to how they play Man City or Liverpool is amazing. Playing Arsenal is the biggest game in the league.

I like Brentford and Thomas Frank and am sympathetic to their situation because they've got a ton of injuries but his team were an embarassment to football today. All that play acting, time wasting, professional fouls, stealing yards on throw in's etc. I get it but come on, that's just awful.
Why isn’t anyone talking about Trossard penalty? How can you bring down a player by hauling him down … why not talk about that too? Or why not ask him the same question about the penalty.

Even if you wanna call it a dive it would have been unjust to send Havertz off because his yellow card was stupid. He clearly didn't even see the dude who jumped into his elbow - he had his eyes on the ball. Not to mention the 1, maybe 2, pretty clear penalty shouts.

That is absolutely crazy considering all those studs up challenges that Brentford has been making that entire game! I can recall at least two challenges that I was sure was a red card. And all those penalties that should’ve been awarded but weren’t honestly, I would be crying right now, but we won anyways so I could care less. 😂😂😂

The guy slid in front of havertz and he didnt connect with him for arsenal to get a pen but it's not necessarily a dive. Not everything is a dive. Arsenal could have also had pens from the trossard tug back,( definite pen for me) and the pull on Gabriel's shirt( softer of the two). Referee was awful though. Poor officiating, and Brentford faked injuries alot and kept stopping the game which made it hard to watch.
Actually it’s just a massive dive..if it wasn’t they wouldn’t be talking about it.

You lost it after havertz's 'dive' but would never say how much your heart was in your mouth for a blatant penalty that was not given against brentford.
This guy is a master politician to be honest. He knows how to deflect and take pressure off his team who despite all their excellence and valiant effort today find themselves entralled in a relegation fight

So Frank if you're gonna call out Havertz for a "dive" know full well you instructed your players to do the exact same thing.

I think for a case of a blatant penalty like the one not given to Gabriel, the players should stand in solidarity and force the ref to go check the VAR monitor. Players can't just accept what's happening on the pitch. If VAR won't call the referees, players don't have to agree to kick the ball i think that's the solution to this rigging of matches against arsenal

Lol...he thinks he kept Saka out of the game!!!! Saka was on fire in the 2nd half and probably should have scored/assisted a couple of goals. Even double and triple teamed, Saka still showed you can't contain him. He is REACHING for positives.
Big respect to this man as a manager. I love Arteta and for Arsenal, in my opinion, hes as perfect a fit post Wenger given his background as a former player and captain who bleeds North London through and through. All that being said, Thomas Frank has a very impressive CV, including formal education in sports psychology and nearly 2 decades coaching the Danish youth squad. What hes done with Brentford in such a short time is nothing short of commendable.

Wow, Thomas Frank taking notes from Klopp on finding any excuse he can for why they lost. Kai didn't dive...there was contact. Arsenal didn't have their strongest team, they didn't start Jesus, Zinchenko, Partey, Martinelli, and Timber. Just because Kiwior, Jorgingho, Havertz, Trossard have kept the same level is a testament to our depth. Arsenal dominated this game. Brentford had very few actual chances. They got a goal from a massive mistake. Arsenal were also denied 2 clear penalties. Klopp Jr needs to calm down...they played a good game, but still got dominated and rightly lost the game. The best part of the game was watching the team that was trying to slow the game down and time waste throughout the 2nd half...complain about time wasting when Arsenal were up. What a clown.

The first yellow is a dive and feigned injury by their to get our player booked, there’s also some contact in the hip area. I don’t think you should be sent off for those two incidents at all.
As usual Arsenal do not get a legit 100% stone wall penalty. It happens too often to be poor var. But hey let's talk about a 2nd yellow when he should not have got the 1st. Arsenal are fighting the refs and var unlike City. Last season Brentford drew with a double offside in a 5 sec play. Can't get the refs decision all the time....mate.

Another fantastic game and outstanding performance by Arsenal! We all knew it was going to be a tough game, but thank God we were able to overcome it and win. Unfortunately, Ramsdale made a mistake, but everyone does, so there is no reason to criticise him for it. He also saved some crucial shots in the second half that would have resulted in a goal. Kai Havertz saved the game for us. What an incredible player he turns out to be. This demonstrates that we must be patient for new players adjust to Arsenal's style of play. Now let us talk about Brentford. I thought their performance was good, and they demonstrated that they are not an easy team to defect and are willing to fight from the start to the end. What disappointed me about Brentford was their disgraceful tactics of attempting to slow down the game and waste time. Thomas Frank should be ashamed of himself if that is the only way he can get his team to get points. Don't get me wrong, it is ok to try to slow down the game for your own benefit, but overusing the tactic demonstrates desperation and poor coaching and football style, which will reflect negatively on his team. He does this whenever he plays against a bigger and better team, such as Arsenal. Be a better coach, Thomas Frank, and get your team to fight instead of pretending to be injured at every touch. Anyway, the best team won the game. Gunner for life!

Players are supposedly not allowed to ask for cards to be given and gesture for it, so maybe the ref was taking that into consideration to balance out the decision for the Havertz dive.
Think everyone doesn't see the big picture, example if Ramsdale doesn't make that mistake, [time changes] half time comes and 2nd half we probably win 3-0 they dont score at all in the game & we scored 2 valid goals we should have been given at least 1 pen.

The ref was giving nothing this game. Waving on every possible penalty, no dive for Havertz, no yellow for the two Brentford players waving cards in the same incident, no yellow for Saliba kicking the ball away because he had just waved on a foul the other way. And on VAR was Paul Tierney 😂 officiating can be rubbish in this league, but I don't think Brentford was hard done by given the other decisions in this game

It's not as if there was no contact. He felt the contact and he went down. Definitely not the most egregious bit of simulation Ive ever seen but still not a penalty for me. Fairplay to Brentford though they were well organized and probably deserved more from the game than they got

I mean, it was a dive, but what does he expect? The written code may state that simulation is to be met with a booking, but the de facto ruling is that it typically isn't (especially not for a second yellow). A lot of people in forum threads were bringing up the Bissouma red card (against Luton) as reason that Brentford were cheated, but I don't think they realize that the reason instances such as that are so well remembered is because it was inconsistent to what is typically called. I dislike diving, I hate when teams time waste, but at this moment, despite what fans feel (unless it is their team doing it), most refs are content with letting it happen.
Respectfully, Frank seems a bit deluded about his team performance. Arsenal were denied 1 clear penalty. Brentford was pinned in their half for most of the game. Arsenal had far more high XG chances.
