All Alan Parsons Project albums, including The Sicilian Defence that they originally recorded in 1979 and was previously unreleased until 2014, were half speed remastered at Abbey Road and cut from hi-res files transferred from the best available master tapes where analogue was originally used and from the original digital master tapes for all albums from 1983 onwards with everything approved by Alan Parsons himself.

Very interesting part starting at 3:50. This would explain a bit on those master tapes, they are hard to get and they might be worn.
I Always noticed something strange listening to The Turn of a Friendly Card but I couldn't put my finger on what was strange or wrong, despite I love the music. I Just played an online copy of the remastered version and it's breathtaking spot on! It was the speed that was slightly off indeed, what results in, for example, the piano at the beginning of the title song to sound "out of tune" but that's not the case... Hard to describe... Not natural?
The thing about the speed of Turn Of A Friendly Card is intriguing - I can't wait to hear it!

All very interesting. It seems like the CDs Box would need un upgrade reprint too, after all this work to digitalize the new remasters. Hopefully a BlurayAudio Box.
I wish there was some kind of contest or sweepstakes that would allow up poor guy like me to ever be able to hear these albums.
Tales of mystery and imagination: Edgar Allan Poe was always my favorite album and I believe was his first solo album. It is still my favorite Alan Parsons album with I Robot being second.

Miles Showell did the rolling stones LP box set Abbey road half speed...do not sound as good as the Ludwig masters.....to my ears only
