You don’t eat cheap. You eat inexpensively. Cheap is chicken necks and backs with only a starch. You make wonderful inexpensive meals for your family. They are very blessed to have a wife and mom like you
When it comes to salads, we did the same thing when my kids were young. We also added canned chick peas rinsed, canned salmon deboned and deskined and frozen peas defrosted. I was raised my grandma who grew up in the great depression, so she definately had an influence when it came to me cooking for my family. You are doing great, keep up the good work.
Hello I love salad and eat it 3 or 4 days a week I eat very low carb, but my salad I use wonton strips on my salad, bacon bits, eggs, chicken, raisins and a tablespoon and a half of blue cheese salad dressing or if my calories are too high I use rice vinegar! I don't eat processed foods much, no soy, and very little dairy I am trying to correct lots of autoimmune issues I am up to 5 autoimmune diseases. I have been shopping aldi more and am loving all the fresh vegetables so much. Love all the things you make! Take care and stay safe! Oh we tried the aldi kielbasa and we loved it and so much cheaper than Hillshire farms love your grocery hauls it gives me ideas.
It’s hard to feel your house is clean when the kids are young. So much easier as they get older. Time spent together is the most important thing you can do . 😊 We always had a ten minute clean up, whoever was in the house had to clean. No questions, age appropriate chores for everyone. Surprisingly, it helped me feel better definitely not a perfect job. It was easier for me to finish later. I think they kept the mess to a minimum because they knew they had to clean it up.
A very easy and low budget meal My mom made and I still make for my family is cream egg gravy. Make a white gravy, add cut up boiled eggs and serve over toast. There were six children in my family growing up and we all loved it! My grandkids love it too. Mom would make Ruth sausage or bacon with it. You have a lot of great recipes. 😊
As far as salads I love to top with pickled beets, dried bell peppers (love the crunch), hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, green onion and shredded cheese.
A veg bake is so easy and a great way to use all those odd bitsof veg when not really enough of any onething. Chop all yout veg in about the same size pieces spread out on baking sheet season with your favourite seasoning spray with cooking oil and bake until tender, you may use as a side but we have just had the veg alone for a quick lunch or even anevening meal. Also we do a veg mash cook all your different veg until tender and then roughly mash with salt, pepper, butter and a little cream season to taste, you can add some grated cheese but leave the mash a bit chunky, a child we had in care taught me this one. It was a good way to introduce never tried veg. Always got a cheer when I said we were having smash as she called it.
We have 5 children age 6-16, A few years ago I started trading jars with my mother-in- law. She started canning in pints for just the two in her house and I needed all the quarts! Yes, one quart of green beans is barely enough. The cheesy spaghetti squash looked so good!
I made French dip the other night. Good and easy recipe that made a lot of leftovers. Let me know if you want the recipe. Other than the roast and rolls, the rest of the ingredients I had on hand most of which are pantry staples.
Amber over at Mom to all recommended this channel why was she was making the broccoli dish that you made. Been watching a few of your videos and have really liked them.❤❤
I know Sunday is your day of rest so I understand if you don't want to do it, but would you consider filming your kids' plates made from leftovers at Sunday lunch one day? I thought it might be fun to see their choices.
Your Sundays sound lovely. God bless sweet friend 🙏🏼❤️

My mom and dad always said the boys had hollow legs and wondered where they put all the food. Lol
