Even Manstein, at the time of the crucial Battle of Kursk, who had tremendous experience (France, a Winter Storm, the Storming of Sevastopol) could not cross the last third line of defense of the Red army to reach the operational expanse. Basically, the course of the war was seriously changed by Guderian's turn from Moscow to the south to encircle Kiev. After that, there was simply no time left to capture Moscow.

Not at all. Rommel was a Great General but his logistical planing wasn’t great so he wouldn’t made a difference. The Wehrmacht still would’ve run out of fuel & the losses would still be irreplaceable.
