You walk up to check the price tag of this cute blouse on the wall, and when your done, you turn to your left to leave that side isle BUT SOMEONE IS THERE, COMPLETELY ENGROSSED IN A SKIRT, AND THEY DONT LOOK LIKE THEYRE MOVING ANY TIME SOON! So you think, "Okay, that's fine, I shouldn't bother them, I can accommodate, BUT WHEN YOU TURN TO THE RIGHT, THE EXACT SAME THING IS HAPPENING! So you turn around to go straight back BUT AN ON-SALE RACK IS BLOCKING THE WAY! Even worse is when THEY ARENT EVEN LOOKING AT CLOTHES, BUT THEYRE TALKING OR ON THEIR PHONE! CANT YOU BE A BIT MORE MINDFUL OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS?!
And you get the obnoxious sales assistants looking at you, silently judging you because they *know* you can't afford the items in that store. You know that they know you can't afford anything and you slowly walk out of the store, judged, humiliated and defeated and go into the Pound World ($1 Store) next to it.
A bunch of pre-teens with croptops and short pants snapchatting their starbucks coffee or gossiping about everyone and laughing their heads off. They're probably the most annoying people I've found in the mall. Like really, this is a public place, not your slumber party.

I spent most of my time at the mall alone. Not because I'm anti-social. But because I need some me-time once in awhile and when I encounter those kind of people, I get hella frustreated. Why? Because they're staring at me thinking that I have no friends. And then they proceed to laugh at me and that's annoying.
You forgot the couple or PDA on steroids when you are just walking by and this couple are like having the most intense make out scene and then just all over each other just they look ready to order a room but they just do it out in the open and there not even ashamed and there's like your like 2 year old sibling and other children just walking by while these two are getting it on
Seriously though, I've once paced a group of probably 10-11 year olds at the mall with makeup all over their face, iPhones, exposed clothing, and all the typical teen/adult kinda thing goin on, while I was walking by with my mom and bro when I noticed they where looking at me with those looks tht think they're "all that". (I was wearing just a plain T-shirt and pants just to let you know) they started to laugh at my appearance so I got pissed, what it did was confronted them and asked if they wanna fight. WELLL, their response was "bitch we ain't scared of you" And ohhhhh my gawd I got so annoyed with their attitude that I actually punched the shit out of the girls face... Long story short, I got banned from the mall for a month but it was worth it. I felt the need to punch some sense into the girl.
Regular girls my age- Trying to act older than they really ;are outside of Victoria secret ;hiding their 16 year old boyfriend : drinking Starbucks with there burnet hair from those dang flat irons acting like booty short are cool and their shirt so short I can consider them sport bras Me- rocking an Giants hat and coolaid and yelling at the tv for my recorded show of spongebob

Ok for your infomation if I was in the shopping center throwing a tantrum my mother would wip me right there and then. One day, when I was 5, me and my mom decided to go to the mall and I was started to cry because I got into a fight with my twin sister. She didn't even give me 5 seconds, she turned around and hit me HARD in the middle of the mall in front of 2 police officers. Needless to say after that I shut up.
You forgot the creepy associate. These are the assistants in the shops that stare at you from a distance to see what you are going to buy and then they start coming closer. Now, don't confuse these with the OA sales associate. Unlike them, The creepy associates don't speak, they just follow you around the whole shop until you awkwardly leave the store.
"Creepy associate" AKA the "we just had our weekly reminder about Loss Prevention and had $200 worth of merchandise stolen last week so we're on the look out" associate. You are a customer who appears to be trying to avoid SAs and even though you're surly innocent, to ensure we can prevent theft we have to know exactly what you are holding in your hand (product name, size, colour etc) so we can specifically ask for it back if it's suddenly put into your purse. We'll be offering to start you a fitting room momentarily to ensure that we get the product out of your hands and into a holding area. We're much happier once you've left. All this is done because our manager is instructing us to act this way over the uncomfortable headsets we're forced to wear. (There's two sides to everything :D)

Okay, 11 year olds who wear expensive revealing clothing, it's okay if you like Starbucks I LOVE some Vanilla Bean Frapachino occasionally. But if you carry around a purse full of make up to school like, why? It's school, not the red carpet, we aren't going to go meet Josh Hutcherson and Chris Evans and go meet the Wizard of Oz. I'm over here shopping in Hot Topic like 'Sherlock shirt or red Dalek dress' and then they're over on the other side of the mall in Justice (which I find blindingly sparkly) yelling at their mom for not getting them 16 pairs of shoes. Like I only wear one set of shoes throughout the entire year. I had a friend who complained about her parents even though she went to the mall EVERY OTHER WEEK. Then she was like 'OMG I AM SO TAKING YOU SHOPPING AND YOU WILL LOVE IT I SWEAR' because the only time I go clothes shopping is A) When I go back to school shopping B) When I need something for my cosplays because we all know I need a tweed jacket to look like the 11th doctor. My friend was always like 'LET ME DO YOUR MAKE UP' 'LET ME DO YOUR HAIR' 'OOOO LETS BE POPULAR' when all I wanted to was draw and read and learn. She stopped being my friend because of Status Quo.
I'm 11 and people are wearing so much makeup on and their shirts are like $50 and they are wearing the shortest shorts and I'm over here wearing a cod shirt with a hat on and jeans with worn out convers that my sister gave me in 4th grade soooo :P
I agree with the sales associates and the pitches, but as a retail worker the manager is on your butt about pitching things to every customer. I doubt they want to say any of that, but it is their job. I know I have to go around asking things and I can't stand it, I know most shoppers want to be left alone, but if I don't say anything then my managers will be bothering me non-stop lol.
I work in retail and believe me, we don't wanna be there most of the time. You try being treated like shit for 8+ hours a day, having your tables and fitting rooms DESTROYED, and getting cuts on hours and pay. And to top it all off, you get scolded by your sucky managers when you don't act cheery, ask a million questions, and give customers so much information they can't even remember.
I was JUST going to comment that. I work at Victorias Secret and we don't get commission, but we need to do name exchanges just so our supervisors know how much each of us is making.
Especially when you JUST fixed a table of clothes and some dumb customer comes and grabs something from the very BOTTOM and everything is ruined ... and the managers expect you to keep a smile on your face after that.
The freaking cashier at Sears that will literally force feed an application for a Sears credit card down your throat. I had one once that wouldn't take no for an answer.
I worked as a team leader at a leading home decor store. I watched my manager write up associates, cut hours, and verbally humiliate associates for not meeting our weekly/monthly credit card application quota from corporate. I even got hours docked for my number of credit card apps. Don't hate the associate, hate the system.
I always have to tell cashier's do that if I wanted pme of your credit cards I would willingly file for one but I don't want your stores credit card so ask me again and I'll go to another store, if that doesn't work I ask for the general manager just to say politely F*** OFF DUDE! & believe it or not I have only paid next to nothing for the items I was purchasing for that day all because I threatened harassment from the employees that like to cram credit card applications down my throat "sheeeesh!"

My family is the freaking circus... Every time I want to go somewhere by myself, my mom feels sad for my other siblings and brings them along, then when I see people I know at the mall that are with there friends, I feel like the kid who has no friends lol 😐 Also my siblings are all younger and obsessed with Harry potter so they always bring chopsticks and chase after each other yelling, "EAT SLUGS" and a bunch of other complicated spells and yah anyways that's my story lol
That happens to me as well but instead of getting involved I just step back and let the adults deal with it while I laugh my butt off. I am SUCH a great help!

Stereotypical much, I'm white and if I asked something I didn't need over and over again or through a tantrum I'd get grounded for 2 weeks and whooped with a ping pong paddle (she bought the paddle specifically for spankings) or a spiked belt or the handle of those cat toys with strings at the end and the most painful one was when we were at the park and I would do something bad she would tell me to go pick a stick and spank me with it in front of everyone. So yes we "Americans" do get whooped for doing something bad. "We" aren't all like that but most are, at least the parents who cared were.

I spent most of my time at the mall alone. Not because I'm anti-social. But because I need some me-time once in awhile and when I encounter those kind of people, I get hella frustreated. Why? Seriously though, I've once paced a group of probably 10-11 year olds at the mall with makeup all over their face, iPhones, exposed clothing, and all the typical teen/adult kinda thing goin on, while I was walking by with my mom and bro when I noticed they where looking at me with those looks tht think they're "all that". (I was wearing just a plain T-shirt and pants just to let you know) they started to laugh at my appearance so I got pissed, what it did was confronted them and asked if they wanna fight. WELLL, their response was "bitch we ain't scared of you" And ohhhhh my gawd I got so annoyed with their attitude that I actually punched the shit out of the girls face... Long story short, I got banned from the mall for a month but it was worth it. I felt the need to punch some sense into the girl.

One day, when I was 5, me and my mom decided to go to the mall and I was started to cry because I got into a fight with my twin sister. Now, don't confuse these with the OA sales associate. Unlike them, The creepy associates don't speak, they just follow you around the whole shop until you awkwardly leave the store.

You are a customer who appears to be trying to avoid SAs and even though you're surly innocent, to ensure we can prevent theft we have to know exactly what you are holding in your hand (product name, size, colour etc) so we can specifically ask for it back if it's suddenly put into your purse. We'll be offering to start you a fitting room momentarily to ensure that we get the product out of your hands and into a holding area. We're much happier once you've left. All this is done because our manager is instructing us to act this way over the uncomfortable headsets we're forced to wear.

I'm over here shopping in Hot Topic like 'Sherlock shirt or red Dalek dress' and then they're over on the other side of the mall in Justice (which I find blindingly sparkly) yelling at their mom for not getting them 16 pairs of shoes. Like I only wear one set of shoes throughout the entire year. I had a friend who complained about her parents even though she went to the mall EVERY OTHER WEEK. Then she was like 'OMG I AM SO TAKING YOU SHOPPING AND YOU WILL LOVE IT I SWEAR' because the only time I go clothes shopping is A) When I go back to school shopping B) When I need something for my cosplays because we all know I need a tweed jacket to look like the 11th doctor. I agree with the sales associates and the pitches, but as a retail worker the manager is on your butt about pitching things to every customer. I doubt they want to say any of that, but it is their job. I know I have to go around asking things and I can't stand it, I know most shoppers want to be left alone, but if I don't say anything then my managers will be bothering me non-stop lol.
I work in retail and believe me, we don't wanna be there most of the time. You try being treated like shit for 8+ hours a day, having your tables and fitting rooms DESTROYED, and getting cuts on hours and pay. And to top it all off, you get scolded by your sucky managers when you don't act cheery, ask a million questions, and give customers so much information they can't even remember.

But I respect these so called "basic bitches" because they're living life however they want. Lol I know! My mom is white while I was born brown because my dad was brownish. And I would see brown parents beat the crap out of their 5 year old child while my mom is extremely patient with me i never throw a temper tantrum when I was little nor right now but I see white parents telling their kids to stop and the kids still go wild.
That's generalizing rather heavily. I'm white and an American citizen and my mom would kick our asses fine and dandy if any of us EVER threw a temper tantrum in the store or anywhere else. Not to mention plenty of American parents beat their kids if they embarrass them. Just sayin'.
Stereotypical much, I'm white and if I asked something I didn't need over and over again or through a tantrum I'd get grounded for 2 weeks and whooped with a ping pong paddle (she bought the paddle specifically for spankings) or a spiked belt or the handle of those cat toys with strings at the end and the most painful one was when we were at the park and I would do something bad she would tell me to go pick a stick and spank me with it in front of everyone. So yes we "Americans" do get whooped for doing something bad. "We" aren't all like that but most are, at least the parents who cared were.
