Something different from your normal Vlog indeed but cover plenty of info and important facts… I love it… you not doing a comparison but more to what we can expect when we here or even before coming to have an understanding what the location offer.
I honestly rarely comment on anything on UA-cam, and I watch a TON of vlogs before going on trips. I really like the way you broke down the concepts by each beach (sands, restaurants, activities, accommodations, etc.). The overhead shots are nice, as are the ones of you walking down the beach - very easy to get a true sense of what's going on. If I were to give a few points of feedback, since I think you've got something really good here: Timestamps would be beneficial for the viewer, as would I think some transition slides/images when you move from concept to concept, to help the viewer. Also, I think in-video links, tying me into other videos you've made would be great too! Liked and Subbed.
Both are nice.I stayed in Kamala the 1st time i visited Phuket in 2007,stayed in Patong the following year and stayed in Kata in 2015. Kata has been my favourite area of Phuket and i'm going back to Phuket and staying in Kata again with my GF) later in the year. I'm planning on going back to Phuket again in the middle of next year (with my GF & her Grand Daughter) and we were talking about staying in Patong, but I might suggest we stay in Kamala instead.
Good vlog if you are talking about high season only, but you don't specify, as the seasons make or break a beach. Low season you can easily walk on either of those beaches and hardly see many people or umberellas. And everything is a little cheaper as well. It all depends on what you want from a beach. We always go in low season, and love the empty beaches, and you can still get great days, just the ocean is a little murkier and the rips a little more dangerous
I lived at Kata Beach because it has better body and board surfing waves. And that little island just off the beach, called Ko Bpoo or Crab Island, is so picturesque. For families, Kamala is better.
Tony I've been 3 times to Phuket and everytime we stay at Patong beach because we like the night life around it in Bangla Rd. Are there similar places like Bangla Rd at night in Kata or Kamala beaches?
Yes & No.... There are area's similar in both Kata & Kamala which I shall be covering in the coming weeks but there aren't so densely packed as bangla rd check out one of my old kata nightlife videos showing soi spider-Man
Kata is nightmare for me! Looks like a football stadium on the beach! I prefer quieter beaches that’s why I’m going to Kamala next year previous years I stayed at karon that was 20 years ago when it was still quietish
Been living at Koh Phuket for about 6 years. Stayed in Kata,Karon,Kamala,Kathy, and Rawai. Been to more or less all big beaches on the island. Favourite beach nr 1 is definitely Nail Harn beach in Rawai. Nr 2, is Bang Tao beach Nr 3 and 4 Surin beach, and Kamala beach. The rest I would not bother to go back to! What annoys me the most ,is that the waste water, is lead directly out on the beaches,or in tubes that releases the waste water ca 50 meter from the beaches. been diving, and snorkeling at all beaches, and have sen this with my own eyes.i do not recommend a bath in Patong beach, which is the most polluted! NAI Harn beach is the cleanest, with a living coral reef, that you can explore from a small beach called So san beach!🙏
Went to Phuket only once and that was 20yr ago, stayed in Patong.. was ok back then, looks a crowded nightmare now so been thinking about Kamala early 2025.. but after visiting Ao Nang/Railay in Krabi only 8 months ago i can't bring myself to go anywhere else, as that region is the most stunning place i've seen in Thailand so far. So still undecided for 2025.. Kamala or back to Ao Nang or perhaps Koh Chang.. an island i never been to.. decisions decisions..
I went to Kata in December and my god, it’s just little Russia, now on the face of it that doesn’t bother me, but they were terrible to the locals, so rude, just treated them like dirt on their shoes I’d take Kamala mostly for that reason alone
Nakalay Beach is only accessible if you are staying at the Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa They list it as a private beach, however all beaches are public beaches as layout by law but unfortunately the hotel controls access but they do not own the beach. people could access this beach by boat if they wish too
Kata is ruined now. over run with arrogant & ignorant Russians. I was there in 2023. Beautiful beach but thats it.Russian tourists/Residents are bad news for the locals with Thai operators being squeezed out. For this reason i would steer clear of Kata frm now on.
Thank you for the detailed explanation.👍

Thank you for your input which I have taken onboard and I'm glad you have found my videos useful 🙏
Great tourist video, thanks.
is it okey weather in june? or rainy
What is it like on Kamala Beach in April?

Kamala's a great place and only 10/ 15 minutes from Patong So you can have the best of both areas

Thanks for the information. And I'm wondering why there're far more surf clubs at kata beach than the others.
Kata beach is well known for surfing during the low season and they regularly hold surf competitions .
Kata is nightmare for me! Looks like a football stadium on the beach!

Great video Tony! Agree 💯. Kamala seems to have the better beach side restaurants, but I'm still partial to Kata for the scuba diving 😅
Yeah it's a close call between both it really does come down to the individuals own tastes and preferences

For me it is and always will be Kamala Beach :)
Don't tell everyone!
I too prefer Kamala Beach, mainly because of Beach Road being right there, not heavily busy and easily accessible to beach goers.
I prefer Kata and Kata noi beaches

@@marklawson8022seems to me like most have figured it out with kata being about 90 percent Russian when I was there. Lol
😂😂😂 gotta share the love 🙂
We're looking to book 3 weeks at kata palm resort, Can anyone recommend this hotel, thanks...
It's a nice hotel my sister has stayed there in the past
And what about Nakalay beach ? Nobody speaks about

Kata for day trip
Kamala home beach
Kata is the beach for after life? I dream of many tourist ghosts was there on fulll moon night. Nobody talk to each other.
Great presentation. My wife and I are looking at visiting Phuket next year. Is topless sunbathing for women allowed at the hotels there?
Thank you , No sorry it isn't and I would advise against it unless you want to upset the local people 👍
The video comparing kata beach to kamala beach was very helpful in making a choice.....kamala, not so phrenetic!
Nothing relaxing or nice about phuket beaches anymore...might as well visit spanish ones...just as over crowded😮

those beach chairs ruin the experience, police needs to crack down
💯👍
Couldn't agree more definitely was out of control on that visit never seen so many on kata's beach in all the years I've been coming here😥
