Great video! So rare, so valuable. An in depth look at Abadjiev and his charges. Now we know how and why Bulgaria ruled: hard, heavy work, huge loads, everyday. Sore knees? Too bad! Work through it! Squat some more! All of this heavy work must have taken a toll. We see 67.5 Mikhail Petrov, who was like a meteor, here today, gone tomorrow. Alex Varbanov, 75, who did 215.5, still has not been equaled. Borislav Gidikov. Mitko Grablev, with the sore arm, won in 88 but tested positive, with Angel Guenchev in 67.5, whose 162.5 and 202.5 have not been beaten, 30 years later. This was the cream of the crop. The Bulgarian Olympic Weightlifters of the 80's under Coach Ivan Abajiev, with other past champions helping the coaching from Kolev, Nuriyaken, Rusev, and others, was the greatest to be assembled and train.
