However, YG was not completely heartless, he balanced out her pay by making her the ambassador for Nonagon (now defunct YG clothing brand) and when they discontinued that brand, she was made the official ambassador for Moonshot (YG's cosmetics brand which is doing very well). So yes, salary-wise she gets less due to the law, but her income was balanced out by YG. The law has changed too and now she gets the same pay as other members. With all the issues with YG, it's still one of the best labels in Korea as they do take care of their artists financially, so far.
Yes that’s true, I kinda forgot about that. I think I also saw a statistic somewhere that YG is one of the fairest agencies when it comes to sharing the money from sales etc. with their artists. But that Korean law itself is just really weird and outdated in a globalised world. Hope they change that someday.
