Okay so its a bit confusing lol but basically you do a setup, that causes the game to think you are mining the Obsidian, even when you are 100s of blocks away. So after around 4 minutes or so the Obsidian breaks, and the observer detects it. Now the cool part is that when you switch to a pickaxe, the game will break the Obsidian practically instantly (because the game thinks the Obsidian is almost broken due to the sand item frame thing). Don't know if that makes sense lol, but it is a very weird mechanic/glitch thing. Why it didn't work, is because the chunks were not loaded.
