I’ve owned (9) audi/VW’s….. my golf R specifically I chased power hard. Tried (4) different high end tuners, went back to APR. my SQ5, 2 A4’s, golf R, stage 3 GLI, all APR… JHM for my (2) N/A 4.2L audis. But APR is my go to…. Love my APR Plus tune.... My reasons are more based around warranty protection since I have a 2021 model S5 and only have 91 octane in So Cal. Can't wait to see how the APR tune sounds with the AWE Switchpath exhaust. The sound got so much better on the stock system with the tune. It's a bummer they stopped the stage 2 program but I get it.

How long after purchasing did you get the tune? I purchased a 2021 Audi back in December and have about 6.5k miles. My first service isn’t until 10k miles. I did not purchase any extra warranty so only have the standard 50,000 mile warranty. I am thinking of just getting the tune now with the warranty but don’t know if I should wait until my first service.

Yep. What I was getting at is, the car idles at higher RPM on APR and I think they open the exhaust valves more. All these things make the car run a bit louder overall, which isn’t a bad thing, more a matter of taste.

Apr really moves starts moving at anout 3k rpms but your right that it leads too it feeling like it falls off as you go up in the rev range.
Apr peak torque is roughly 2500-4500(give or take 500rpms. And peak power is roughly between 5-6k rpms(unless you go big turbo) which makes it feel great in the mid range but not as much in the higher range.
I think the big part of that is that the mid range just hits too hard.
I often short shift at 4500rpms when driving hard just cuz i dont need to rev it out. Running 3-5k feels just as fast as 5-7k rpms. Actrually anything past 6500 with my setups just a waste lol.
I must say apr is the overall best for ots the shelf.
Uni/um, ie are all great. I believe um is a bit more aggressive and uni is a bit more laidback. I know nothing about ie...
