My Late Cat, Mr. Spratt, was a tuxedo Cat with white sock and gloves and a white mustache🖤🤍!! Mr. Spratt was a very sweet, very loving, and a highly intelligent Cat!!! Mr.Spratt was not only a very sweet Cat, but he was a good mouser ( one mouse came in and NEVER came back!! ) and Mr. Spratt would hunt anything that intruded like a fly or the squirrel on the outside windowsill!! My Mom, my Boyfriend, and I all miss😢😢😢 and love Mr. Spratt who passed away on April 29th, 2020 🖤🖤🖤. Mr. Spratt was 17 years old which is 85 years old in Cat years🌹🌹🌹. Out of all the Cats I have had since Childhood, Mr. Spratt, was the best Cat I have had in my life🖤🖤🌹🌹.
I’ve had 5 cats in my life and while all of them were sweet and affectionate, the tuxedo cats (2 of them) bonded with me to a point that I felt like we were soulmates. Much more affectionate and smart AF
I feel similarly conjoined with my tuxedo cat. We often yawn in unison. This is pretty gross, but if I go to use the loo, she’ll go to use her kitty litter in the next room at the same time. I can be sat thinking of her and she’ll in that second run into the room I’m in meowing melodically and asking for me to comfort her. We can just gaze into each others eyes for ages with a knowing look of love towards each other. She’s the best friend I’ve ever had.
"adopted" a feral tuxie kitten in August and instantly recognized the intelligence difference from other cats. Even my Mogli dogs realize the capability of this cat. I "named" him Keef after the most unique.
@@ridethecurve55my tuxedo is stupid(He doesn't understand those treat games where the cat has to fish out the treats. but very cute and affectionate, He likes to Talk a lot, and also wakes me Up every morning at 5AM. He doesn't want to be pet for more than a Minute but Likes to sleep between my legs, or crawls under the blanket and start kneading my legs they are full of scratches but i don't mind. my tortie which i found 13.8.20 at maybe 3 months old was very smart, sadly she Had to Go over the Rainbow 7.7.23 as she got a narrowed trachea and received only 25% the oxygen she needed, additionaly to that she Had feline leucimea. She wasn't able to keep the food in as it didn't pass through the trachea. She loved parmigano and cheese dreamies. She Had the loudest purr i've ever heard and the most beautiful fur pattern it was half long and very soft
mine wouldn't kill mice. He slept with me at night, leave to eat or use litter box, and return paw at blankets for me to lift them crawl in turn around and re-settle.
Did you call him Big Mac because he was huskier than other cats? Because I grew up with a chubby black and white cat (she was not being over fed, we strictly measured her food by weight, but perhaps she was fed by our neighbors as well) and she lived to be 19 years old and was quite healthy until the end except for some trouble hearing. She was the best companion ever, very chill but still goofy sometimes.
My tuxedos name is Mack after the Mack truck, I thought it would be funny because the Macks iconic emblem is a bulldog, but he’s as stubborn as a bulldog and as big as a Mack truck so I thought it appropriate to name him that lol. RIP BIG MAC ❤
Our tuxedo was returned by another house back to the shelter after one night when he was a kitten. Their loss! We adopted him with two brother tabbies and he has been just the best, lovable cat. Love the tabbies too , but the tuxedo is definitely in a different category.
@@pagosabob10 I thought she was probably lumping formalwear cats together. (The irony is my blue cat looks sooo much more luxurious... but my Tuxy is SOOO cute.)
@@pagosabob10, I have gone to cat adoption and I noticed that the black/white-tuxedo cats are still there, orange cats gone fast. The narrator maybe correct.
My late tuxedo cat, Kane, actually was brilliant! He learned at a very young age how to twist the doorknob to open the (heavy) front door, he could open cupboard doors that were too high for me to reach, he used to get into them and rip open his treats and catnip! In less than a week after we got him (we got him as a kitten) he was riding on our dogs back around the house. And when we would take the dog for a walk he somehow would always get out and follow us, we finally gave in and allowed him to come (it was a safe street/ field where we took our walks!) He also used to love to get on top of cars, he started doing it to prevent me from going to work, but one day a friend drove off with him on top! They only got about 200 ft before we stopped them! He had such a unique personality and there are SO many stories and amazing times/ moments spent with that brave, wild, intelligent, and just ALL AROUND AMAZING cat. I'll always love and miss him. RIP Kane (Kanneth) Crusader Lineback!
My late Spooky was abusive, but I still loved him. In the morning time, right after the seal on the refrigerator door pop's, and separates from the frame, Spooky would hear it, and do a baseball slide into the fridge. After checking him for a pulse, you had about four seconds to produce some kind of human food, or you're ankles were going to bleed! He was a Maine Coon Tuxedo, and a part of me passed with him at the vet. I love you Spook
Lovely video. I am a veterinarian, 53 years in the business, and it was always my impression that Tuxedo cats on the whole were very affable. I can't think of one that gave me trouble.
My tuxedo cat loved people. Just loved attention. But when she got very old, like 20+ years, she got really grumpy and sour at the vet and started getting scared of new people. It started when she had dementia.
I have 7 outside cats and 5 inside cats (all rescues). I have had cats off and on all of my 75 years, my tuxedo Boots Bailey has been the most affectionate, attentive, and overall smartest cat I have ever owned.
We had a stray tuxedo who came into our home and adopted us😆 She was the most “maternal “ cat we have owned. She would let us know when it was bedtime ,stayed with me when I was sick and was a great guardian.Being a stray we did not know her history. She became pregnant and figured our home was good for her kittens . She died very suddenly which was devastating but we kept one of her kittens who is all grey who is almost 10 years old.
I had a stray tuxedo show up pregnant after that movie Nell came out. So I named her Nell and she gave us 3 babies... Bubbles or Bubba is still around, ❤
Stray adult cats are different than cats that you take in that are kittens as they have life experiences that we know nothing about. I had taken in 3 adult cats one at a time just showed up. 1st orange male tabby Tablet, 2nd Tucker male tuxedo, 3rd Toki dark brown female & Tucker outlasted the other 2. They were all good companions Toki bossy very active played with toys every day but diagnosed with thyroid disease & passed last September. Cats just show up & choose you even though you were not looking to bring a cat to your home. Toki was a stray cat in my neighbors yard that watched me through fence for 3 months & came over one day she came towards me & my 2 male cats Tablet & Tucker came out of no where & knocked her down one at a time. She moved into yard then into house, but all 3 of these cats had to go outside & I could not make them be indoors only or I would hear about it they were vocal! They were a blessing now only one is left Tucker.
I have 2 under 1 year old (from different litters) Bonsai the tuxedo is sooo maternal its cute she would of made a great mother but i hated seeing the discomfort when she went into heat but atleast she has Opal her 8 month sister to mother and she does! ;)
I've had many cats over the years and they have all been super friendly & loyal no matter their colour. I think it's mostly down to how well you treat and love them, they know when their carers are genuine. Of course there are personality differences, just like humans, and that's what makes them interesting companions.
My tuxie boy Cody is extremely social and friendly. I have dubbed him my little diplomat because he is the liaison between the dogs and the other cats, as well as the head of the welcoming committee because he will ALWAYS greet anyone that comes in the door: friends, housekeeper, handyman, etc. Love that boy with my whole heart.
I had a tuxedo mitten kitty (six toes on each paw), and he was, without doubt, the smartest, most elegant, and majestic cat I’ve ever had. If he purred for anyone it was a great gift from him. He KNEW things. He took to my son really well and they were inseparable, absolute buddies. My son trained him to go for walks to the local skatepark without a leash or harness. All he had to do was snap his fingers and Figaro would come right back to him, and at the skatepark he would wander nearby or lay down, never just ran off. We lost him in 2020 and every day I miss my Figgy. He was one of a kind. 🐈⬛
I’ve had cats all my life and Mr. Tux is the smartest cat I’ve ever owned. I kept his treats in the short cabinet above the microwave (he’d regularly raid the other cabinets for snacks). Finally, he figured out (after lord knows how many trials) to leap up, bat the door open and knock them to the floor. Well, I refuse to be outsmarted by a cat so I moved them to inside the fridge on the door shelf. You guessed it. The appliance had a pullout freezer with a bar handle, and you could see his little paw prints where he got up there and eventually figured out how to pull open the fridge door and snag his treats. Bonus points for persistence!
I also have had cats all of my life and the one tuxedo cat I had, Cricket, was the sweetest and most intelligent I have had. There IS something special about a Tux cat!
I've had a lot of cats over the years, but the two that are closest to my heart were both tuxedos. They are the cats I had the longest, and each of them was 'my' cat, or rather I was their person. Elvira was my tuxedo that I had in the 80s and 90s, and she tolerated other people, but she loved me. I lost Elvira in 1999, and in 2001 I met a tiny baby tuxedo whom I named Squeak. I had Squeak her whole life, and she passed away two years ago, at almost twenty years old. I miss her terribly still. Like with Elvira, I was her person, and I never felt more loved by a cat than with those two. Adopt tuxies, they are wonderful cats.
When I was looking to adopt a rescue, I passed over a tuxie because his appearance didn't really jump out at me. I selected a cat but made one last pass before leaving the animal shelter. As I was passing the cages, the tuxie one got my attention when he put his paw out through the cage and gently touched my cheek and held it there. I was a goner and selected him knowing he was meant to be mine. I had him for 16 years. He was the most wonderful boy. Never met a stranger, never bit or clawed anyone. He was polite. He would sit at my bedroom door, looking like a distinguished butler, and wait for me to invite him in, which, of course, he was always invited in. Snuggly, kind, sensitive and smart. I have grieved losing him intensely as he was my soul mate. My next cat will also be a tuxedo as I learned to love this breed because of my Andy boy.
I have a six-month old tuxedo female, and she is the cleverest and most curious cat I've ever met in my life. She responds and reacts to everything we say - we even have to spell out certain words so she doesn't understand. And she's also the chattiest cat I've ever had, with so many different sounds. PS love your videos, thank you!
Mine is female and sooo chatty its mad! she turns 1 on the 4th july. Her sister (from another litter) is the opposite! I actually thought she had something wrong with her til i took her to the vet!!!! She is very noisy! lol ;)
True I just adopted one and lord, she lets you know when she's not having any of her sibling nonsense😂😂 She's my hero because she makes sure I don't get distracted while working since my male cats are snuggle bunnies and won't let me work on my PC ever My baby sits besides me and anyone who comes up gets a smack on the head😂
I have 5 rescue cats and take care of lots of outdoor colony cats, and one thing's for sure - coat color definitely gives us hints about the cat's general personality. 2 of my indoor cats are female tuxedos - super agile, smart, affectionate yet temperamental (full of cattitude), and totally no nonsense.
My black & white tux is also super agile, smart& affectionate but temperamental, has cattitude & totally no nonsense as well. His name is Scout I adore him🤗😘
@@WoodysARthat's Like my mimi, He does growl when He gets the zoomies. Never heard a cat growling before. He also chirps and thrills. He picked it Up from my tortie which sadly went over the rainbow 7.7.23 at an age of ca. 3 years found her in Summer in front of a supermarket. She was Born with a tightened trachea and also Had feline leucimea. She received over 250 injections in a Span over 2 months but it didn't help
A tuxedo stray mama cat gave birth to a few litters. Although she remain more stray than domestics, she leaves mice and birds in the porch. Two of her tuxedo kitties from different litters are distinguished. The elder male tuxedo dislike noise, he complains as soon as we raised our voice. The younger tuxedo female had imprinted on me as a human companion who thinks I am her mom. She makes trill sounds, makes biscuits, slow blinks, hops on my bed at evenings, wakes me up at 5am, raise her meow sounds, tail raises up with a curl tip, licks my face, bites my hand when I rub her to her belly, sleeps besides me, constantly seeks my attention, etc. she especially doesn’t rush to chase my oldie parrot, she just observed with this relaxed facial expression only on the parrot.
Had a tuxedo cat friendlier than our ginger cat. Seen in nursing homes as therapeutic cats...mine lived to 21 years..and still miss him Thanks for your great information.
My tuxedo was dark brown almost black and white. He was fabulous and smart. I lost him 1 week ago and miss him so much. He lived until age 16+. He was as loyal as they get.
My late cat Charlotte was a black and white tuxedo and she was very smart and very affectionate and loyal. She stay by my feet when I was sick with COVID 19. I miss her so much. She died of cancer two months shy of her 16 years old this past January 6..
A tuxedo kitten followed my son home from school and decided to adopt us. We enjoyed him for 16 years. He was very loyal and friendly. His eyes were a beautiful sea green and he had a bottle brush tail. I think he was part angora. Terrific personality.
I have had cats going on 50 years. Mogies, Tuxedos (grey and black), Calico and Torties. The simple reality is this - the more time you spend with them and show them love, they will reciprocate in kind. Currently I have an 10.5 year old female grey and white tuxedo adopted from a shelter and she is fantastic and loving!
I’ve had cats my whole life (nearing half a century here) and this is my first tuxedo cat. He is, by far, the smartest cat I’ve ever seen!! Not only is he the smartest, but he’s the LOUDEST!! 😵💫 He has taught me what “yowling” is. I never knew that word until I had to look up why he makes such a loud, obnoxious sound when everyone leaves the living room and goes to bed at night. If I summarized it-and if it’s possible with a cat-my observation in the five years we’ve had him, he is a “herding cat.” Yes, like a livestock or guardian dog! Our Tuxie is perfectly happy when all or most of the family are together. But when people start going to bed, one by one, his anxiety increases and he starts pacing the floors outside their bedroom doors and starts yowling. He’s not happy until they come back. And he WONT sleep with that person. Nothing is acceptable until they rejoin the rest of the family. We have lost soooo much sleep as a result of this personality trait of his. 😵💫 But we love him and try different things to keep him inside (although it’s so tempting to just put him outside when he’s loud all night).
Oh gosh 😂 cute but I can't imagine 😮 my tux girl is very peaceful. She talks to me a little and has a silly annoyed growl if I hold her to long but that's it nothing crazy. I do love the boy cats tho they are so handsome and majestic
Our grey tux was a one year old stray who walked onto our deck begging for food and never left. He was a great mouser, very loveable and learned to do tricks. He's 7 years old now and was a centerfold model for a calendar!
Omgawd same!!! Last year he wuz meowing so much walked in our home and nevah left 🤣 he's freaking brilliant! We train him! He walks on a leash! He's so awesome!
Same here! About a 1 year old stray gray tuxedo cat came onto my patio begging for food. Once I fed him, he never left. One month in and after taking him to the vet for shots and being neutered he’s definitely mine now. Buying him lots of toys so he stops biting at my feet thinking it’s fun “play”. Other than that he’s a great cat.
What I do know is that the first cat I ever met and immediately fell in love with (I was 30) was a "tuxedo cat." I just thought she was black with a white bib. Dear Gabby lived to be almost 22 and in one of the most amazing episodes of my entire life, had three kittens in my lap while I stroked her belly and let her know that everything was coming out all right. That happened 40 years ago and since she passed away in 2004, there hasn't been a single day that I haven't thought of her. She's responsible for my consistent online moniker too! I've had four more long-lived kitties since then and can't imagine life without any of them! Cats are definitely nature's superior animal!
I didn't realize my most loving and talking cat was called a tuxedo cat. She was the most vocal cat ever since I found her as a kitten in a busy street. She always let me know when the water or food bowl was getting low, the other cat used the litter box, she knew when I wasn't feeling well and would lay on my stomach or my heart, depending on what was hurting, she loved to constantly get my attention either vocally or gently patting my arm or face. She loved to be held, but only when she came up to me 1st. She lived through 3 dogs with the last one was able to be there for the 1st year of that dog's life. I was blessed to have her 19 years before she shut down and I had to let her go. Her last year she spent a lot of time sleeping and staring at the wall. She was my little companion and angel.
I have always had orange cats and Siamese. We just got tuxedo cats this year. They are they most loving cats out of orange and Siamese. The tuxedos are so friendly and cuddly. So glad we got them as pets.
I just watched your great Tuxedo video, and enjoyed it very much! We (myself, pit bull baby & chocolate lab) were leaving our apartment a month ago, and this sweet little kitty was curled up on the stairway - not afraid to move an inch with the 2 dogs going crazy over him! I took the dogs back upstairs, got a can of tuna & walked out the door, he was now right outside our apartment & I sat with him for a while, tried the tuna & he wasn’t interested, but let me pick him up & take him to our protected porch with no issue…after 3-4 days, he became a totally loving kitty, nobody responded to my ads for him (as being lost), so we decided to keep him. He now loves to eat every 3 hours, but only weighs about 1 kg or less, so I keep feeding him when he meows. Compared to our previous 2 siamese male/females, he is super affectionate & not once has he ever pulled his nails out while I hold/pet him- pure sweet “Tossi the Tuxie!”
I just adopted my Tuxedo a few weeks ago. He is approximately 4mo. Old and is the most lovable and affectionate cat I have owned. He is very playful and vocal. Leaves he toy mice in the food bowl, water bowl and I have even found one in the litter box. He is a keeper and I cannot wait to see what kind of adult cat he becomes.
Over the past 40 years I've had more than 60 cats. A few came from shelters, many from friends and some just arrived on my deck. The last 5 came 10 days ago from a friend who found a box with 8 kittens dumped by her mailbox. I found my tuxedo cat, Patrick, as a young stray on the sidewalk in front of the post office 5 years ago. He is the most intelligent cat I've "owned" and is the only one of the current 15 that I let out during the day. ( Years ago I lost several outside cats to fishers that came through this area. ) He has a very soft "meow", to which my ears are definitely attuned, to tell me that he wants to go out. There is just something special about him that stands out from the crowd.
In 2007, Norton, wandered up to my house as an unneutered male Tuxedo Cat. He was very tame and humble. He would bow his head whenever I petted him. After his surgery and vaccinations, I left him with a few other rescues. One of the others was a Cow Cat, which I named , " Cow Cat." Over a period of 10 years Norton trained Cow Cat to become tame.. Norton would walk up to me in front of Cow and let me pet him while Cow Cat watched him. Eventually Cow Cat stopped running away from me. Norton, passed away about a yesr ago. and I thought that he was highly intelligent. He was my muse for art projects because of his handsome Tuxedo coat and sweet expressions. I really miss him! ❤
I've had other types of cats, but I have found my latest a female tuxedo cat to be the most loyal and sweetest little cat. She comes running when I call her. Wants attention when she is not snoozing, or just wants to snooze on our laps. Very affectionate, but can be feisty at times, probably just overstimulated, and wants to be left alone for a little bit. She thinks she is the queen of the castle. I did have one other cat that passed that was ever so loyal to me, a blue eyed silver white cat, streaked with a taupe color, unusual coloring, female. Still miss her after so many years. I totally recommend getting a little tuxedo. You will not regret it, and people who bypass them don't know what they are missing.
We just lost our tuxedo cat at age 20. She was the smartest cat I've ever had. I knew that black cats were harder to be adopted but I didn't know tuxedos were, too. Now we'll focus on black or tuxedo cats when we're ready to adopt again
I'm ashamed to admit that when my partner and i where looking into adopting i was the one saying 'I don't want no black and white cat!' A year later we have 2 kittens and one is black and white! ;)
So sorry for your loss. I lost one of mine 4 months ago & it devastated me. She was almost 12.5 years old. Had her from 2 weeks old, bottle fed her, etc. I miss her everyday. I loved her so much. ♥️
Our first tuxedo lived to be about 19, died of a sarcoma in the jaw. He was the last of a group of three we adopted all at the same time, and he lived the longest. When we were ready to adopt, we adopted 4: a tuxedo, a ginger, a grayish tabby and a tortie. Love em all.
Our tux cat was so entertaining. I called him stinker as he waited for me early on to go to bed and was such a weird guy. He chased dogs until one caught him and he changed his behavior. He knocked at the door or window and ppl would say,oh someone is knocking, I’d say, oh it’s the cat, just let him in. He said mom, clearly. He was 15 when he had to be put down. A lifetime of entertainment and love for me and my boys. We called him pink, tink as he was so pink on his toes, beautiful cat. Not necessarily loving as neurotic but a blessing. King of the castle and jealous of grands as well. I spoiled him and he weighed 23 lbs when he passed. Tuna on Sunday. All I had to do was look at him and he’d behave. Never hurt him, just a glance. My boys drove him nuts. My oldest came home after being gone about 6 months. We talked about how tink would respond. I said, he’s going to play dead. Son walked in and the cat looked like he fainted and played dead. Hilarious but I defended him. Stress isn’t funny. We miss him to this day!
For decades I thought: "Why would anyone fixate on their cat's color patterns, totally superficial." Then it dawned on me--why wouldn't *other traits* tend to be tied to the superficial?? After having 2 tux in a row I noted couple things but most of all, both exceled at learning useful tricks from their older 'siblings' in the house, not all cats do.
My tuxedo opens every door and cabinet that he can. He will purposely knock items off the dressers in our bedroom during the night so that we will wake up, and he talks back like you wouldn’t believe! He is an unbelievably smart animal and he absolutely believes he runs the household!
I had a tuxedo cat years ago, when I was a kid and neutering/spaying wasn't so much "the done thing" (now, as an adult, I make sure my cat has been spayed/neutered). He was a male named Tom (imaginatively!😅), he always knew his name, although we ended up calling him Tommy more often than not. He became a grumpy old thing, getting into fights with neighbourhood cats. Then we ended up with two kittens as well. He would be grumpy, keep them in line with a small growl or bat of the paw, but never hurt them. He was a funny old thing and we've never forgotten him!😺
I have a tuxedo cat & find she IS friendlier in general to others than most cats. She just wants LOVE ! Very often wants to be nearby. Purrs like crazy when you pet her. Such a good girl!
I've only known one Tuxedo cat very well -- his name was TOPPER -- Topper was extraordinarily sweet and smart, VERY good-natured. I can't imagine why anyone would hesitate to adopt one!
I had an orange tuxedo tabby. He was fixed at a very early age & was the best companion cat I ever had, he passes away 2 yrs ago at 17 yrs & I grieve his loss often. Now I have a black & white tux, he’s very different. Very independent & super curious. Not afraid of anything & wants to see what I’m doing all the time. Very smart too. My orange tux was afraid of everything & perfectly happy to be inside with me at all times😢❤️
I have just adopted my second Tuxedo cat though he is more the Cow Cat markings he has the Tuxedo cattitude. I have found them to be a hardy cat with a fun personality. I was heartbroken to hear that they do not get adopted as fast as other colored cats. My Koru was in with his 3 other black & white littermates as well as a siamese littermate. I also adopted him from our local Animal Control. All three of the black & white kittens were adopted while I was there. This kitty has become the love of my life the last month. I am so happy to have this active and funny boy in my life for many years to come. Thank you for this video!❤
I used to have a tuxedo named Cassie. I adopted her from Petsmart as a little kitten back in 2006. She passed a few years back. 😔 She was a very sweet cat and I miss her still to this day. I have more cats than what is allowed within city limits already, or I would adopt another! Btw, I love your videos! 👍🏻😺
I have a 1 year old tuxedo female… she is very petite compared to my orange and gray males that I mentioned in the orange cat video. She’s an absolute sweetheart, but nowhere near as attached or needy as our others. She’s very independent and very mischievous, she’s into everything and chews stuff up. If all of the cats we’ve had over the years I can’t recall ever having one that chews things up, mostly cardboard, paper type stuff. When she wants attention it is completely on her terms, she can crawl all over me, lick me and curl up in my lap whenever she wants and only when she wants. I had another tuxedo cat when I was a kid back in the 80’s, she was the exact opposite and was extremely friendly and loved being picked up, carried around and snuggled when we wanted to. I was very excited to find the one we have now because I have the best memories of my childhood tuxedo, I even named her the same name. Maybe she will change a little after we get her spayed. Our daughter also has one the same age as ours with very similar personalities and also not spayed. Could that maybe be why she’s so snobby?! Lol
Byron was my first cat as an adult. Rescued at a shelter when he was 8 mo old and lived to 18 1/2. He was a tuxedo and most enchanting, very smart, and loved riding in the car. He would steal chicken off my fork as I was eating, he was a love. And he’s been gone 20 years and I still think of him. My 2nd tuxedo was Zack, he was feisty, also a rescue at 4 or 5 weeks old. His ferol mom was killed by a car and my vets office had rescued the kittens. He only lived to 9 but was a lap cat. He became my mom’s best friend when she came to live with me and somehow he knew she was blind, so he would lead her and her walker down the long hallway to our dining room. He died a few months after my mom passed. Personality plus on both of these tuxedos… great cats, but I’m a believer that they pick us. When I went to the shelter and got Byron… he was the last cat in the last aisle that I walked down… I was ready to give up because no cat paid any interest in me until I set eyes on Byron…he was the only cat that acknowledged me… that sold me on adopting him. Zack hissed and spat at me on our first meeting and his feistiness was a plus. I now have a calico and an orange tabby… my calico girl could almost pass for a tuxedo except for the orange marking on her face. My orange boy could be an orange and white tux… all of them are personality plus. Love cats!!! Thanks for the video.
The biggest difference that I noticed with my Tuxedo cats vs other cats is just how high energy they are and how chatty they are. My oldest one is also highly intelligent, he’s able to open doors and cabinets. I do think coat color can influence personality.
Awesome video! I thought my grey and white baby, Graycie, was a tuxedo, but I thought her color disqualified her. Nice to know she is part of the best dressed tribe. Although she is my plushest, most adorable-looking cat (many think she looks like a toy), she is actually a bit of a jerk; jealous and territorial when it comes to my other two cats, and downright vicious when she is scared or annoyed. She is my only one that actually needs to be sedated or restrained my myself and a nech when I take her to the vet, and when she has to be boarded when I travel, she always gets the "careful--bites" sign put on her cage. When it's just me and her, though, she is as sweet as a plush toy. It's just her luck she wandered into my life as a tiny but headstrong stray kitten when I already had a brother and sister pair who'd been with me for 7 years. 10 years later, and she still only barely tolerates them, but knows not to harass them in front of me.
Our Tuxedo is incredibly playful, active, and curious. She loves to play fetch, her favourite toys are those two-inch mice with feathers for tails, or whatever she can steal off the table/kitchen counter. She also wakes my partner (because I'm a deep sleeper and she's learnt that it's easier to wake up him) at 4 AM. She was born on a farm where the farmer didn't care about the cats at all, and had vicious dogs (which were apparently not properly socialized and occasionally killed the cats). She's such a perpetual "child", I wonder if she's making up for the three months on that horrendous farm.
I adopted a tuxedo boy from a shelter a couple of years ago. I wouldn't exactly call him smart (took him ~6 months to figure out a food puzzle :-D), but he is very affectionate and cuddly! ❤
I just adopted a tuxedo from a friend who couldn't take it to her new apt, and DJ would prefer to be an only cat. She is 5-6 years old, and has only been with me for 4 days so there is still lots to learn about her. She is sweet, friendly, gentle, loves lots of loves and pets, prefers spending time with me over alone, and doesn't meow very much. However, she purrs a lot. I think she loves that I work from home so am around a lot. She likes cuddles at night and has been waking me up by 6 AM for her wet food. I am feeling very privileged to be her guardian!
So, I feed some strays here in suburban L.A. Right now, there are 8 of them that are regulars and a couple more I see from time to time come to visit. 4 of them are what I refer to as "black and white kitty", as they have varying markings and may or may not be appropriately termed tuxedo cats. Kujo, he lets me pet him and scratch his head and neck when I bring his food in the morning. The others do not let me near them. They wait till I have shut myself inside the door and then come out to feed. They are, nevertheless, beautiful and I wish I could hold them in my arms. And bring them inside with me, but I get it.
My late sister had a b&w male tuxedo cat. He was the loudest, most talkative cat I've ever seen. I don't know if it's a secondary trait or not, but he was extremely communicative and demanding. I cat sat him a few times and he was just a monster, lol. My parents inherited him. He was quite the first week or so while adapting to his new home and people, but he quickly resumed his outrageous behaviors.
Our tuxedo cat “Mario” waits for cream when he hears the kettle every morning, and bites your ankles if it take too long. At a very young age he figured out how to open the screen door latch and knocks the kitty food container off the table to let you know he’s hungry. He’s very affectionate and loves cuddling but if you don’t handle him correctly he’ll bite!
I have two black and white tux brothers. One is a real alpha and his 1yr older brother is very affectionate and sweet and the only other cat his alpha brother likes. I have more than those two. Great video for us! Thank you. Terrible to see those adoption stats. The sweet brother is the favorite of the household. Adore our tuxies
I have two sisters. Panda is a tuxedo. As kittens, Panda always followed Colbie and copied her. Now, at 15 months old, Panda has started taking the lead. The biggest difference is when there is a loud or strange noise. Colbie hides, Panda goes to see what is making the noise. "Jellicle Cats are white and black, Jellicle Cats are of moderate size; Jellicle Cats jump like a jumping-jack, Jellicle Cats have moonlit eyes."
We have a Tuxedo male and we have found his personality to be one of affection and empathy towards other cats. For instance he brought his "brother" home to us and was kind and respectful to him. If the colour combo is based on genetics then perhaps the genetic traits affect more than just pigment, perhaps behaviour as well.
For a long while we had a Tuxedo we named Elliott. We found him under a car near the University here. He was maybe five months old, no collar, no chip, in relatively good health and neutered, just dirty. No one claimed him, so he stayed with us. He was a super love-bug, but also the wheeeniest of cats. He had the tiniest meow, and the sort of personality where he never wanted to be noticed *doing* anything. If you had to pass him in the hall, or caught him drinking water, or eating food, or looked at him sideways, he would *always* make the plaintive little *meeeeew* noise, and either run or flop instantly onto his back to show his belly. I dunno what kind of life he had before us, but he was pretty pampered at our place! He was the same cat that, given the opportunity to see our chickens one day, made an unholy demon-summoning yowl, charged the birds, then turned and fled back inside our house. The few times he wandered outside, he fled right back in, too! A *true* housecat! He rarely hissed or swatted at anyone, including the dog (who he still managed to push around despite being such a powderpuff of cat). Honestly, he was a very loving weirdo. His worst trait was how much he loved to roll and just steep his longish fur in the STANKIEST of places. I'm not sure how much I buy one particular pattern or type being one particular way. I tend to think boy cats are much more clingy and whiny in general. I've never had a boy cat who wasn't just sort of a needy thing with people (ferals aside), even if they were a little shy to strangers. Lady cats, on the other hand, have always been the scrappier ones for me, though there have definitely been a few himbo-esque lady cats in my time, too.
i went down a hole learning about the white color gene and it was SOOO facinating! and there are so many different white patterns! my cat is a tabby with the white gene!
I had a tuxedo cat named Corky, (so named for his love of his favorite toys, wine corks). He was a kitten when I adopted him and he was my buddy for over 17 years, through several moves and 2 marriages. He was loving and very intelligent. I have had several cats in my life but Corky is the one I most often think about. I find it hard to understand why tuxedo cats aren't more popular at adoptions.
I have a gorgeous gray tuxedo cat. He has learned to sit, lay down, go to his crate, and understands the word kiss. He will present his nose for said kisses. He loves belly rubs and loves being groomed. Loves people and just wants to be the center of human attention. Super smart, and social cat!
I have two cats, sisters, got them as rescues when they were kittens. One is all black, the other is a tuxedo. The tuxedo is particularly attached to me and I would say she is probably the most affectionate or 'loyal' cat I've ever had. Her sister is also very sweet, though she can be moodier, lol. They're both awesome cats.
We found our tuxedo cat, Bud, at a Papa Gino's restaurant in Massachusetts. Beautiful cat with the sweetest personality and the loudest purr. Every time he walked into room he would shout out "meow" as his way of saying hello. He loved everyone and made us all feel special. He sat for hours in my mother-in-law's lap. He lived with us for years, near the end of his life he would spend more time on his own. Our last Christmas with him, we bought him a cat bed and put in under the tree. He came downstairs and spend the entire day with us lying on his bed. All cats are special but I will always remember the day our tuxedo cat decided I was the one for him.
I have had 4 b&w tuxedos over the years. All had special ingratiating personalities. Unusually loving. Good hunters. Outgoing. My grey and white tux mother cat is devoted and fierce, and her almost identical son is matching her in smarts. These are very thinking cats. The b&w ones seem to really bond with their people exceptionally well. The most.
Thank you for making this. I have been lucky enough to have shared my home with 3 tuxedo cats in my long life, and every one has been male, and had a strong personality. The 5am “wake up and feed me” leap onto my chest in bed is common to all, as is the purring, kneading and slow blinking when picked up and cuddled. None of them have been very vocal, with only a short “ack” in greeting, and none of them greet me with perfectly straight up tails. My current companion, Mono, is much loved by me, all the neighbours.
I am not allowed to type now, to correct what I've just written. I'm being attacked by our government's "security forces" because I sometimes write the truth about what our government does!
Someone ("our security forces") has stopped me finishing my first comment by typing over my words and adding comments of their own. Our bloody government is TOTALLY FASCIST; America is NOT a Democracy, we are allowed to vote for ONLY the candidates paid for by the wealthy, no one else is allowed to run for office!! The wealthy have amassed their money by stealing it from the working people of America; Capitalism is just another name for Slavery (Wage-Slavery to be precise)!! Amerikan Slave-Masters don't actually OWN their slaves, they call them "Employees" and pay them by the hour only, thus avoiding unnecessary expenditures for food, clothes and housing. AND we the enslaved population of Amerika are supposed to ADMIRE these thieving bastards because they claim to have "earned" the wealth by hard work and higher intelligence or talent. The workers are brainwashed into believing their poverty is a result of their own LACK of hard work and their own inferiority!! THIS brainwashing, this crippling of our people is an abomination!!! The wealthy should be PUNISHED SEVERELY for that alone!!!
There's a feral charcoal and white tuxie in the complex where I live, and he's sown his oats. He has lots of attitude toward people, but one of his feral daughters is very sociable. I have two of his male offspring, and yes, they are very doglike. I have one of his grandsons also who is just past five months old and he's got a little of the punk in him.
I just got my 2nd tuxedo cat. I adopted him from an elderly couple who were having health issues. He is 18 months old. I had a long haired tuxedo male when I was in my 20's. Our new kitty is beautiful and I have always loved tuxedos. Sometimes I call him BatCat. He is 18 months old so he is rambunctious. We have a Siberian Husky for him to play with. We just got her from a shelter this summer, so I think they could be besties.
I have 3 brother cats. One classic tux, one grey tux, and one striped tabby. It’s been interesting to see their different personalities evolve, despite being raised from birth in the same environment. The classic tux is anxious around visitors, but the absolute sweetest with his housemates. He’s very much a lover, not a fighter, who melts into a puddle of purrs anytime we pet him. He’s incredibly playful on his own and will combine toys with other objects around the house to keep play interesting. The grey tux has always been the most observant and loves a puzzle, or for me to hide treats around the house for him to find. He’s nicknamed “Big Mood’ because if he doesn’t get what he wants when he wants it, he’ll let you know! He is always making demands and gets hangry near meal times. He also gets very cranky late at night lol. He can be such a little punk, but he has his ways of letting me know I’m his human ❤
We adopted a little tux male kitten from our local shelter a little under 6 months ago. He is extremely smart. I'm not a crazy cat lady however, I have had so many different breeds, kinds and colors over my life I think I can throw in my 2 cents here. I've loved and lost some wonderful friends throughout my kitty adventures but there is something about our newest member that just takes the cake. First of all, at the shelter he reached out for my son 2 times through the bars of his cage, and he had us there. Since then, he has proven to be the smartest cat I have ever had. It could be just a happen stance but I've just never seen anything like this guy. The most loyal, loving and brilliant cat I have ever known.
We adopted a 5 yr old tuxedo from our county shelter 21 months ago. Rocky (already his name) is long haired, has the most outgoing personality and immediately bonded with my 3 grandchildren. It amazed me that he had no fear of them, ages 4, 7 and 10 at the time. He is extremely vocal and readily communicates his wants.
I will say that my tuxedo is unlike any other cat I’ve ever had. He is very intelligent, sensitive, and emotional but these qualities combined manifest in a way that I can only describe as “moodiness.” He loves his mama with the utmost loyalty, following me down the street or in the yard if I walk anywhere, but he is jealous of other cats and will bully and taunt them…like sit inches away from his brother and just stare at him, playing mind games, because he knows he’s terrified of him (I keep them separated as much as possible.) He will sit at the front door and huff until he gets to go outside (I’ve never heard a cat sigh before and I’ve had cats all my life.) But when he’s outside and in a good mood he’s so loving and affectionate. Other times he’s standoffish giving you the side eye like “don’t even touch me.”
When I was a kid, I owned a very sweet fluffy Tuxedo cat. His name was "Sylvester." He lived a long time. He was my constant companion for me following the death of my dad (aged thirty-eight). Thanks for this informative video. Meow and ciao -- W 😻
@@AllAboutCatsYT - Many thanks. It was difficult spending the rest of my formative years without my Dad. Sylvester was a godsend. I even had that cat in my treehouse. He loved it there. If he grew tired of lounging about in my treehouse, Sylvester would clamber down the wooden ladder and onto the ground! That cat never ceased to amaze me! My Dad's side of my family were English. All of them owned cats. My grandmother lived near a guy and his wife in Coventry who had over two-hundred cats living in an old Quonset hut left over from World War 2. The only creatures those cats didn't bother with were hedgehogs. Take care. 😸
We had one when I was 15 who adopted us one day in the winter of 1972. We came to calling him Tommy. Tommy showed up during a rain storm that day after my dad went to work. My mom was working in the kitchen and heard this cat meowing! We didn't have one at the time so mom went around looking for the source of the meowing, and opened the front door. So, Tommy came strolling in like he owned the place! He then strolled over to dad's chair and took it over! My mom told him that he'd have to move when my dad got home because dad didn't like cats! So he got off the chair and started to explore things. Dad came in later and what did the cat do? The cat ran right up and jumped into dad's lap and started to paw my dad's chest and licking his face! Lol! He sure knew who to butter up! Dad's heart just melted! When dad asked how we got the cat and then we had a cat!
Our grey/white tuxedo male was quite a cat. Was friendly but generally quiet. Would sit on your lap if he felt like it but always liked to be near people, we always joked he wasn't the brightest cat as he seemed to act without thinking. As a kitten we joked about how he looked like a bobblehead. Was active and liked to play even in his later years. He lived for 19 years before he let us know it was time.
My little tabby pictured here is super loyal. He goes to bed when I do and gets up with me when I do. He is like a puppy dog and follows me all around all day. He loves me until he cops an attitude which happens now and then. Everyone has a bad day now and then, LOL.
My late cat Oscar knew how to flip his toys into the air and catch them with his mouth, and would sometimes bring a toy to me by flippin it with his mouth at me. He would growl at outside noises like a dog. He gave me kitty kisses and ninips (bit my chin). He knew when to wake me for food. He was good at recognizing sounds....my keys, his laser pointer click or the chain on it, his crunchies... He was always in the same room, and cried with his big mouse toy in his mouth when I was away. I loved my tuxedo boy and I would definitely get another when my heart heals ❤️
Never had a tuxedo cat, then we went and adopted a kitten tuxedo. She's cool. THen 2 months later a stray tuxedo showed up at our house and we eventually adopted him. Both the coolest, happy, content cats.
I had three tuxedos. One of them was polydactyl. Yes, he had an obsession with opening cupboard doors and could open just about anything. He would bully the other cats (I had 7 indoor cats). The only one he was afraid of was my Persian and the smallest cat I had. She was the Queen of the house and knew it. She was 8 lbs and he was around 18 lbs, he messed with her only once and never tried that again. She schooled him but good. She let him know in no uncertain terms that she was the boss. That Tux had a brother, also a Tux, but the brother was not polydactyl. They had a sister, also a Tux, and she also was polydactyl. I gave her to an older couple who were experiencing empty nest syndrome.
I have 4 female cats 2 are Tuxedo, I took in over about 7 years. Living through apartment renovation where it was overrun by more strays than people early on. The mothers only seem to have white and black kittens. Mine seem to be very intelligent, not lap cats, but social with me just not with each other 😅 but for the most part respect each other. Not sure if they differ from the other color cats I had growing up but I could write a book on the amazing qualities of having cats over the years. Great video!!
Tuxedos most definitely are smartest of the cats. My experience, and it's hard not to notice. From training, discovering feeding patters, behavior, problem solving, they were always way ahead of their co-kitties.
Tuxedo cats that I have owned or know of, seem to be daredevils who are not scared of heights. One I had years ago was a shoulder cat who liked sitting on your should and perch in high places. He also liked to climb trees and would get down on his own without issue. That part was before I adapted him from the streets. After I adapted him he became an indoor cat but still liked to get into high places. The neighbor's cat is fearless. He'll climb trees, get on roofs and he isn't afraid. If a squirrel or bird think they're safe in a tree, they have another thing coming. And a tuxedo cat I plan on adapting at a pet store is a shoulder cat who seems to be fearless with heights from what I saw of her.
The tuxedo cat second from the left could have been the twin of my tuxedo, Buddy. I had him from kittenhood to past 17 years. He was strong and bossy, but also very protective. He would growl at the mailman and stay right by my side when I was sick--not otherwise, lol. When my new dog lay down blocking the doorway, Buddy continued his march onward, stepping right onto and across the dog (who only twitched her ears)--Buddy was a long, tall, chunky 20 lbs at that time. What a character!
Vita’s personality traits. Many of these apply to tuxedo cats, based on my research. Vita is grey and white. She is one of the cats featured in this video except she has a smidgeon of white just under her nose, and like the video, she has brownish fur in certain spots. From 1:06 to 1:12. 1) she is very loyal and a “people cat.” 2) she is very chatty 3) she is not afraid of dogs and is dog-like in terms of loyalty 4) she has put things in her mouth and dragged them to spots to make them more comfortable (cat cushions, towels and blankets) 5) she has EXCELLENT hearing. She hears almost as well as a dog. Lol. 6) she is intelligent-she can focus on certain objects including ones on tv that don’t move as fast for about 30 seconds to 1 minute at a time 7) she has a very loud rolling purr, and it seems like she purrs all of the time 8) she has “elevator butt” She sticks up her butt when you pet her. 9) she is a little nurse maid- she will extend her paw to the side of my neck to check for a pulse or place her paw on my chin with enough pressure to open my mouth and say Ahhhhhhhhhh. Lol *With number 8, I am not sure if this is part of tuxedo cat’s personalities or not. 10) In play, she prefers interactive feather toys over balls and other toys. 11) She is a very fussy eater. After over 2 years, she still hasn’t graduated from FF in the gravies and sauces to something healthier (and believe me, I have tried them all). She eats a small amount of high quality dry. Two years ago I introduced her to wet foods.
Mal, I love these new top-10 list-type videos! You put in way more research than other channels, and they're very much in your style of informative/useful/helpful vids, and not just some eye/ear candy. Question though- I have a black cat with a small, white spot on his chest. Is he a tux? Thanks!
Hi! Thanks for the kind words! No, your cat is not a tuxedo. According to this white spotting guide, your cat has low-grade white spotting (about a grade 2). I think you'll find it really helpful: messybeast.com/bicolours.htm
A friend gave me a gorgeous female tuxedo kitten on New Year's Day 2000. I named her Stella and called her my Y2Kat. She had beautiful green eyes and an almost perfectly symmetrical mask. She was a bit aloof to me, but when I got married she latched onto my husband and allowed me to feed her. She was strictly indoors for the first few years of her life then discovered the great outdoors. She would go out to the backyard and actually drag little snakes into the kitchen, even though the lawn was mowed so we were not sure how far she went. We let her out one day in 2014 and never saw her again. She probably knew her time had come and we're just happy she was where she wanted to be.
My grandma got a beautiful tuxedo cat when I was a kid in the early 80's. He was very photogenic. Growing up we had a series of different cats, but our tuxedo cat Peetie, was the most memorable. Very interesting. Thank you.
My Tuxedo, Bellatrix, is THE most loving cat I have ever owned! She is like a dog: She comes when she's called, loves every human in my household (though I am #1 ;)

In my experience, black and white cats tend to be the most intelligent cats.
Lovely video, with loads of cute pictures 🖤
Mine does the same thing
Only tuxedo cat owners understand the loyalty and love they bring. They are SO SMART TOO
Love my tuxedo cats❤️❤️
Love my fluffy tuxedo girl, she’s my adorable monster ❤
My Tuxedo is 6 years old. I trained him to sit and give me 5. He follows me everywhere and sleeps with me at night or even a nap.
Mine is very smart but very determined and stubborn.
@@Dustandfuzz We have two smaller dogs and he gets along great with them.
Had a Tux cat a long time ago, he was a cat genius. Never saw a cat so smart.
❤❤❤
Agreed, amazing cats!
"adopted" a feral tuxie kitten in August and instantly recognized the intelligence difference from other cats. Even my Mogli dogs realize the capability of this cat. I "named" him Keef after the most unique.
Over the years I've had 4 tuxedo cats, they have all been strong physically and emotionally, and resourceful
Mine is Very intelligent. She can open door handles and drawers.
I totally agree. My tuxedo is very strong and resilient. He's been sick a couple of times and he has made it every time! He's 10 year old.
I had a Tuxedo male for 22 years, his name was Big Mac. I had to finally put him to sleep 3 years ago, I still miss that cat.
I know you miss him but 22 years old is phenomenal. Sounds like a good life.
Amazing! 22 years of companionship. What brand of cat food did you feed him?
RIP BIG MAC ❤
mine lived to 22 as well... she passed 2 years ago and I'm finally ready to foster, don't know if I can do the full commitment thing again
LEAST likely to be adopted? I LOVE tuxedo cats! The crazy whiskers are SO cute.
Our tuxedo was returned by another house back to the shelter after one night when he was a kitten. Their loss! We adopted him with two brother tabbies and he has been just the best, lovable cat. Love the tabbies too , but the tuxedo is definitely in a different category.
I think she was referring to black cats, not Tuxie's.
I had a black cat and a tuxedo cat. I don’t know why people wouldn’t like them; they are the most formal looking cats
He sure sounds like a fine boy. Thanks for sharing that story.
Kane sounds fantastic. Thank you for sharing. 🖤
❤ RIP Kane
What epic adventures!! Leave it to a tuxie!!😻
Thank you for sharing your legendary kitty😻
THe other cats in her litter (I found her pregnant & starving), except for one guy, we all more skittish, and not tuxedo cats.
Let's just say Tuxedos Rule !!!!
My Blue Russian tuxedo fetches, talks, and eats all foods. He loves watching birds on TV and hummingbirds through the window!
I have 2 under 1 year old (from different litters) Bonsai the tuxedo is sooo maternal its cute she would of made a great mother but i hated seeing the discomfort when she went into heat but atleast she has Opal her 8 month sister to mother and she does! ;)
@@geminisabahmy mama cat is Bubba! She's all black and her daughter Nina is a tuxedo.
Aww. Sorry to hear. 😥
One of my Tuxes tells me when to go to bed!! Kind of hard to explain how she does it but she does it every single night.
Unlike other cats, Tuxedo cat has definitely a very special personality being very sensitive, emotional , loyal and smart ❤
Tuxedo cats are amazing and they follow you everywhere, they make very loyal pets and companions.
My Tinkie boy is just like your Cody. Welcoming and interested in our conversations. Very social, affectionate and smart.
My "wee mad Arthur" is the same, runs to meet you, more like a dog than a cat in nature and extremely loving and playful with everybody.
That is the only thing I dislike about cats; the fact that they don’t live as long as we do
I’ve had cats all my life and Mr.
She is very noisy! lol ;)
Mine looks down on me. She is quite uppity.
True I just adopted one and lord, she lets you know when she's not having any of her sibling nonsense😂😂
She's my hero because she makes sure I don't get distracted while working since my male cats are snuggle bunnies and won't let me work on my PC ever
My baby sits besides me and anyone who comes up gets a smack on the head😂
I have 5 rescue cats and take care of lots of outdoor colony cats, and one thing's for sure - coat color definitely gives us hints about the cat's general personality. 2 of my indoor cats are female tuxedos - super agile, smart, affectionate yet temperamental (full of cattitude), and totally no nonsense.
My black & white tux is also super agile, smart& affectionate but temperamental, has cattitude & totally no nonsense as well. His name is Scout I adore him🤗😘
My female tuxedo is the same.
@@rochelleandros4745 will he happily cuddle right up to you generally, but sometimes flicks his tails, whines and growls and is not having it!
Agreed, ours fits your description.
Seen in nursing homes as therapeutic cats...mine lived to 21 years..and still miss him
Thanks for your great information.
My tuxedo was dark brown almost black and white. He was fabulous and smart. I lost him 1 week ago and miss him so much. He lived until age 16+.
He was as loyal as they get.
So sorry 😢
Oh, I'm so sorry. 😢💔
My condolences.
My heart is with you🎉❤🎉❤
(hugs) ❤️
Don't close your bedroom doors. All cats hate that.
Our grey tux was a one year old stray who walked onto our deck begging for food and never left. He was a great mouser, very loveable and learned to do tricks. He's 7 years old now and was a centerfold model for a calendar!
HA ! My tuxedo was a 1 y/o stray, too! Very friendly & begging fir help ! I couldn’t not adopt her. She is almost five now. We are family .
Omgawd same!!! Last year he wuz meowing so much walked in our home and nevah left 🤣 he's freaking brilliant! We train him! He walks on a leash! He's so awesome!
@@StarBrujx We started getting Mr. Lovebug used to a harness and leash as well. He started late in life, but he doesn't freak out about it.
@@1speeder awe eye call my luv bug as one of his many nicknames 😅 yeah he loves he walks and car rides! He's such an adventurous cat!
You forgot to share her name ❤❤
Sorry for the loss of your beloved tuxedo. My tuxedo was named Pretty Mama who turned out to be a boy. Very sweet and intelligent.
I have always had orange cats and Siamese. We just got tuxedo cats this year. They are they most loving cats out of orange and Siamese. The tuxedos are so friendly and cuddly. So glad we got them as pets.
Who doesn't love a tuxedo cat so sharply dressed all the time?! I didn't know that tuxes don't have to be black & white. Thanks for the fun facts! 🖤🐾
In my opinion and opinion of many cat experts, a true Tuxie is Black and White.
We have just rescued 2 4-week old boy tuxedo cats last month, Ham and Burr! They are very playful and sweet.❤
When will you bring home "Grr"? Congratulations, by the way-they must be adorable!

Norton sounds delightful ❤ a friend maker for sure
Thank you so much for the information. I adopted stray kitty and find out she looks so unique, now I know she is tuxedo.
I have a tuxedo cat, so it was a lot of fun watching this video! Thank you for sharing all of your findings ^_^
Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for being here.
Absolutely agree. I love tuxies.
Yes, my little Tux is very affectionate, chatty but feisty at times too.
I love my tuxedo, the only cat that was actually nice to me and loyal
We just lost our tuxedo cat at age 20. She was the smartest cat I've ever had. I knew that black cats were harder to be adopted but I didn't know tuxedos were, too. Now we'll focus on black or tuxedo cats when we're ready to adopt again
I'm ashamed to admit that when my partner and i where looking into adopting i was the one saying 'I don't want no black and white cat!' A year later we have 2 kittens and one is black and white! ;)
Oddly, the tuxedo is my go to choice!
So sorry for your loss. I lost one of mine 4 months ago & it devastated me. She was almost 12.5 years old. Had her from 2 weeks old, bottle fed her, etc. I miss her everyday. I loved her so much. ♥️
You have to call them "cats of color" now, amd obviously the black/white mix thing is terribly 2023. Just watch TV commercials and it's obvious.
He is an unbelievably smart animal and he absolutely believes he runs the household!
haha they do talk back every time!
Sounds just like my Gonzo 😂❤
I own two tuxedos. I already had about 30 cats in my live but I got to say, I never had a more loyal and vocal cat than these two😅.
I've had two Tuxedo cats and both were wonderful. I had them for 22 years and 16 years. I still miss them dearly.
Thanks for the video.
true fact they will gang up on you and love you to death it's true they are that affectionate
The biggest difference that I noticed with my Tuxedo cats vs other cats is just how high energy they are and how chatty they are. My oldest one is also highly intelligent, he’s able to open doors and cabinets. I do think coat color can influence personality.
Absolutely. Tuxies a real characters.
My Oreo was so sweet and loyal. He was very intuitive, one of my favorite cats.
Mine talks nonstop and fetches!
Can you do more videos about specific cat breeds? The ones that you have always made are extremely enjoyable to watch!
You've got it! They're fun to make, too. :)
My baby is a tuxedo cat and I call him “The Duke” because he has the most regal black and white tuxedo suit 😂.
Baby tux cute😍
"Jellicle Cats are white and black, Jellicle Cats are of moderate size; Jellicle Cats jump like a jumping-jack,
Jellicle Cats have moonlit eyes."
I agree.
My current companion, Mono, is much loved by me, all the neighbours.
oh yes! That 5am wake up call! No it well! lol ;)
My sweet Benji lets me sleep in until m😢y ala 8:28 8:28 8:28 8:28 rm clock goes off.
He also likes to attack toes.
The 12 am upload I stayed up to watch!!
Thank you!!
@@AllAboutCatsYT I love the new Forest outro! She looks all cozy for her nap 🥹😊
Aww. I'm glad you had Sylvester as a companion through those years; losing your dad must have been really rough. Meow and ciao to you, too.
We've had 2 Tuxedo cats over the years, very different mix breeds, strays that we rescued. Interesting video!
Mine is picky too. I have to feed her boiled chicken and ham and turkey. She runs away disturbed if I try to give her a can of food.
@@AllAboutCatsYT That's super-helpful! Thanks!
She probably knew her time had come and we're just happy she was where she wanted to be.
she joined the feral gang
My grandma got a beautiful tuxedo cat when I was a kid in the early 80's. He was very photogenic. Growing up we had a series of different cats, but our tuxedo cat Peetie, was the most memorable. Very interesting. Thank you.
Me and Buddy enjoyed the video!
Happy to hear it!!
My Tuxedo, Bellatrix, is THE most loving cat I have ever owned! She is like a dog: She comes when she's called, loves every human in my household (though I am #1 ;)
