I love how you said ref (singular) and not refs (plural), I might not be the only one actually paying attention. Remember in the Superbowl how every Chiefs player understood the overtime rules, yet somehow most of the 49ers were clueless. It shows that the Chiefs are paying close attention to every aspect of what occurs on the field of play. We have some experienced and really smart people calling the shots.
Verderame is correct. The Chiefs dynasty immediately followed the second Patriots dynasty. For 25 years two teams have dominated. I bet being a fan of the other 14 teams is aggravating. Doesn’t excuse their paranoid delusions.
The best...I mean the absolute best..was when they beat the Chargers on a last minute kick and all these streamers screamed they're cheating. Like they're 6 yes old on the playground. Cheated how? No ref call in the last last minute. Not caught recording plays. So how exactly are they cheating?! 😂 It annoyed me at first but I understand now that's what comes with a winning team (dynasty) and am fully enjoying it now. And the good KC fans acknowledge we haven't looked great. And like the Texans..they gave us a run til Tank Dell went down. But like every week..even if he stayed in I'm sure the Chiefs would find a way to win
Leaning into the ref conspiracies is the only way to go. Because thats the thing about conspiracies-no matter how you try to explain it, the believers will always find a way to justify their nonsense. “Buddy, that actually was PI.” “No it wasn’t, the rules say…” No they don’t, you don’t know ball. “Bro-it’d be a lot easier for refs to cheat for KC if that’s stop calling back touchdowns.” “Well they can’t make it obvious…” How about they’re human and doing the best they can to be fair? “BRETHREN! You know KC has one of the most penalized players in the league right? And they’re like top 5 in penalties?” “Yeah, but in the CRUCIAL moments, the refs call it for them…” Yeah, how about don’t make it crucial then, I guess. And yes, I used to complain about Brady tue same way…gotta say? It’s pretty fucking cool to be on the other side of it 😂
Absolutely! This video's thumbnail perfectly encapsulates it. The fabled "Surrender Cobra" by a tearful Bills fan after they lost in last year's playoffs to the Chiefs again. Only, it cut deeper, as it occurred at Buffalo, and via the dreaded "Wide Right" field goal miss.
Whenever someone complains to me that the Chiefs get all the calls I just say "yeah it's pretty great I don't know why your owner is too broke to do it too"
holy shit it’s so cathartic to hear this podcast after listening to the national coverage the past couple years. thank you guys. you’ve definitely got a new sub in me
Social media ruined sports because of the people. Its insane. People act like dynastys dont happen, and have had happened in a long time. Hell, bills went to the Superbowl 4 years in a row and nobody said a damm thing back then. Granted they never won but, still! Cmon!
I could watch Tucker and Matt all day discussing the Chiefs! Wonderful, logical, and some what of therapy....as the hate for my beloved Chiefs is so real. With all of the excuses pinned on the Chiefs winning games from refs, scripted, black magic, and just plain "lucky" it's lunacy - Beyond Frustrating!! The Chiefs are an amazing example of how a NFL franchise should be ran from top to bottom. As Always GOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!
🔥💯 Awesome video! One correction: Mahomes didn't miss Hollywood. Hollywood just confirmed this is his media availability today about them just being on 2 different pages on the play. He started to throttle down and Pat thought he was going to keep going full-speed, as he should have because he had room to run. Similar to how people thought Pat overthrew D-Hop to the corner in that first game against the Raiders, but he didn't. Hop flattened the route, and he was supposed to keep it more vertical. Pat threw both passes where they were supposed to be. It just takes time to gel.
I’m happy Matt brought up about the OT rule change.. the bills more so brought change to that rule than that chiefs and no one seems to remember that we lost to the patriots in OT and the rule didn’t change until after the bills lost
Its worse than that, not only did no one give our grievance a shred of publicity, but in fact almost every team voted against it when we put it up to a vote amongst the owners! It was only after we beat the Bills in that glorious :13 second game and Bills Mafia screamed bloody murder that they changed the rule.
As a 56yr old lifelong CHIEFS fan, I cannot believe we are going into a 3-peat with a Hall of Fame Coaching staff, QB, TE and DT. Patrick has his choice of D-Hop, Hollywood Brown, JuJu, and the fastest dude in the combine EVER. ProBowlers at every level on Defense. Elite Interior O-line... I mean... How is that even possible? Oh yeah... BRETT VEACH.
The Steelers had a difficult game on Saturday, which makes the Christmas game more of an even playing field. The regular season, due to injury, has made the Chiefs handle it like a normal team's pre-season. Moving players around to different positions, etc. But, all teams have been dealing with injuries. The difference is that the Chiefs deal with it and win more consistently. Matt's analysis is precise and hilarious. Talking dog Son of Sam reference to describe raving fans of other teams!?? Bills fan description by Matt is the best!
Is this three game gauntlet much different than going Monday Night-Sunday-Thursday? I mean I guess the Chiefs play seven hours earlier on Christmas so that is likely worse but the Steelers are on the same timeline…
I don't count hours. Maybe it makes a difference to players. I think any team that plays on Christmas gets screwed by the schedule. It'll be tough on all of them.
Its actually the same, it just feels worse, due to the games on Christmas. The Chiefs are one of 4 teams doing the 3 games in 11 days, while playing on Christmas. I saw on another video that there were also several other teams that did that by the Monday-Sunday-Thursday thing.
Tell me, without looking it up; How many referees are on the field per game? The majority of fans, do not know this basic information. How can I take anyone's opinion seriously when they don't understand the most basic information pertaining to the subject?
They show a clip on Facebook and I swear in the comment section 70% of the people don't know the rule. Had a video of a blocked punt and the guy took out the punter, majority of posters saying it should of been roughing the punter, even after posting a screenshot of the rule people still argued with me. When you get into the playoffs it's even worse because you get a ton more casual fans paying attention.
parity in the nfl what's that? In the super bowl era there has been a few teams on top 1970s Steelers, Dolphins and cowboys1980s to 1995 NFC East and the 49ers so the only times we have had it was late 90s and and 2000s
Jamarcus Russell safety, Cardinals field goal, Bucs field goal, Washington field goal, Rams field goal Saints field goal Seahawks field goal, and the Monday Night game was a Titans field goal… all first scores that week. So I’m guessing their argument was that field goals don’t count as special teams.
The Chiefs won the game on Saturday. I never felt the Chiefs were in trouble. If you watched the octogenarians on Fox Sports what you heard was the Chiefs barely won another 1 possession game.
Its never once been even . You dont have teams like the 49ers, steelers, cowboys, etc that hsve won two or more superbowls in like 4 to 5 years if the nfl was ever this fair league.
I love the Chiefs with my heart. But I also loved the Patriots. I didn’t care what anybody else said I loved the Patriots and the Hate and frustration they gave teams 🤣.
I think the reason were having these dynasties is because of the rules protecting QB and defenseless recievers. There really are only like 4 or 5 elite qb in the league and with how WR are protected running routes in the middle of the field, it's changed the way the games played. There's never going to be a team that plays Marty Ball again. A team that relies on the run and has a tough defense.
Did we really land on the moon though?? Sure glad the people stuck in space packed a seasonal Christmas hat for their delayed stay in space, progressive thinking!
Yeah lets ignore overwhelming evidence that it happened and cherry pick. Thats what sounds like staying in a bubble to me. Whatever makes you happy i guess. Cuckoo 🦉
Just think of how many teams have owners who are completely inept and run their franchises like a glorified hot dog stand. Winning doesn't seem like it's the most important thing. They hire incompetent GMs. They constantly interfere. They waste money like it's going out of style. When they do luck out and end up with some young talent they find a way to screw it up.
Fans across the league absolutely are in mentally poor health. The ref complaints are unhinged. It’s glorious.
I love how you said ref (singular) and not refs (plural), I might not be the only one actually paying attention. Chiefs Derangement Syndrome is exactly what ive been calling this insanity too! Great minds think alike! Go Chiefs!
I've left that phrase in some comments sections too, kind of reminds me of someone else that keeps winning🤔
Less than 2 minutes in and Matty V already dropped an f bomb 😂🎉❤

Chris Jones not playing?
Let's not forget the Chris Jones roughing the passer on 3rd and 10 when he tapped Brady on the shoulder
If we're really lucky maybe we'll get our own deflate gate this year
We already do. Only, it's "Ref-gate", even though the Chiefs regularly are penalized more often than their opponents. 💁🤷♂️🕺
Is this three game gauntlet much different than going Monday Night-Sunday-Thursday? I mean I guess the Chiefs play seven hours earlier on Christmas so that is likely worse but the Steelers are on the same timeline…
The kicker is the chiefs had their bye week three months ago. The league usually does this to a team much closer to their bye
I don't count hours. Maybe it makes a difference to players. I think any team that plays on Christmas gets screwed by the schedule. It'll be tough on all of them.

They spent the past year constructing that narrative, they can't let it die.
Most NFL games are decided by one score. They had the same narrative in 2020.

Im just glad to be apart of the NFLs "evil empire". In the words of Taylor Swift, "haters gonna hate".
KC will want to win this next game mainly bc of everything Matt was mentioning and to add to it, the Bills could steal the #1 seed in week 18.
