It honestly hurts my soul that some artists just completely cut out certain songs or versions from their digital/electronic catalogue completely. I have the same problem with AFI among other bands on Spotify, im like… “I pay to subscribe to your music…. Where are all the b-sides and rarities??? The demo versions???” Or even sometimes like with AFI, the radio edit of Miss Murder?? Why isn’t that on Spotify, as much money as well all contribute?? So frustrating. And certainly does nothing for that strong sense of nostalgia and obscurity from years ago. 😢💔
Absolute best best version of the song. Though it doesn't sound as snappy as the album version. Not the same polish, but it feels more "real". I've been a Bayside fan for a long time and outside of Loveless Wrists this (version) has to be among the best songs they've had.
He pours out his heart in this version, I can feel his passion and his pain in the words and music. The other one is a bit more commercialized and edited to suit a more diverse audience. This version definitely has more character and depicts exactly what he was feeling as he was writing it. That is what a truly amazing awesome and talented artist is capable of, and he (Anthony), is a rare gem.
7 Years later I still love it! I requested a song StrawberryMuffin51 posted here as well. I'll have to hear that next. Yeah I like this version better. Just the lyrics hit better and are more scathing.
My favorite split of all time. I know there's emo classics like Lincoln/Hoover and Mineral/Jimmy Eat World/Sense Field, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
Wow! didn't realize I was listening to this version back in the 2000's. It's kinda funny because when I would listen to the album version I knew something was a little off somehow
push me out from the darkness, to a sky that's coloured blue. somewhere someone's finding happiness while i'm still here so hung up on you. baysideisacult
Every one already agrees but god dang the album version of this song is trash. It is 2023 and I still remember this song word for word from when I was in highschool. You really feel every single lyric in this song.
This version is so much better, I don't get why they decided to change this one. Guardrail is grim but I remember back then I made my own version of S&C with this version and a maybe another demo.
I DM’d bayside in a drunken moment some yrs back asking if they can bring this version to Spotify or something but no reply 🤧 I’m always sad when I’m forced to hear the album version in my car 😰
this song is pretty sick, (like every bayside song) but i like the sirens and condolences version better, prolly just cuz i heard it b4 the ep one, but still so amazing
Official favorite here too. Gonna to sleep soon, gotta work at noon lol...... this economy is soo lame, I am getting joke hours. Oh well I have enough money in bank account and it gives me more time to post in rare bayside songs/video/lyrics topic. "What would you need me for? You got friends galore?" I believe that was left in the newer version. Seriously though if they took that out, I woulda wanted to hockey fight them ;) Laters......just enough to love you.
Yeah this is the original version. It is better the version that appeared on "Sirens and Condolences." They removed some of the more biting lyrics from this version when it translated to the full LP. such as "stupid lying excuse for a person" and the part "I could call...but I know you won't get the phone...have no time for me."
I like how this song has that just short of sloppy pop punk sound that every good band has in their early years. The vocals sound off tempo and the drums make your eye want to twitch a little. I think its great.
yeah, i think the earlier version is way better too. when i heard the 'remake' for the first time, i thought 'what the fuck?' cuz the changed lyrics just don't fit at all... (in my opinion)
I have the exact opposite opinion of you, assuming this is the old version and Sirens and Condolences is the new version. The lyrics and performance here is sloppy, in my opinion, in comparison.
This is the version I remember and fell in love with at 15. So much better than the album version.
you can hear the emotion in his voice with this version.
Same here!!!!!! Must have been the version on lime wire hahaha

Yes!!! This version is so much better
@@dekuleaf99999p909000000pppppppppppppppppppppppppppooò9😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
If only Spotify would adopt this version 😔
the good version of this song Hellz yeah
Ur a tool if u think that

Agreed

I agree with this. I don't like the remake as much. Plus this one is so nostaglic.
Yep 2021. Still the best version of this song. Thanks for sharing.
I prefer the other because it’s clearer but I can see why people would like this one more
I love this version.

Brings me back to my high school days. Forever love them
i knew i wasnt making this version up im so glad i found it lol
This song is amazing. I couldn't believe how good these guys were the first time I heard this EP.
My favorite split of all time. I know there's emo classics like Lincoln/Hoover and Mineral/Jimmy Eat World/Sense Field, but this one holds a special place in my heart.
I dont see how people can like the other version of this song.. TRUE bayside Fans like this over other.. end of story
These were just supposed to be demos, but our label wanted to release it lol.
Good times! :)
"and all youll ever be to me is a stupid lying excuse for a person" .. love itt.
To this day
It was raw emotion lol.
I wish i lived in 2006 again.
Thank you!!! Idk what happened to this song, this is how I remember it from the album.
the rawness of this version is so much more real
Wow! didn't realize I was listening to this version back in the 2000's. It's kinda funny because when I would listen to the album version I knew something was a little off somehow
"easiest things to fake are feelings to fool someone else" I think of this line regularly
I work at a deli, and I had our cook make me a strawberry muffin because it sounded delicious and I had never had one. It did NOT disappoint.
push me out from the darkness, to a sky that's coloured blue.
somewhere someone's finding happiness while i'm still here so hung up on you.

Thanks for the original track... great jam
*THERE'S ANOTHER VERSION?*
my favorite song of all time
this version is superior to the album version, especially the chorus
How can I get this song!! .
Every one already agrees but god dang the album version of this song is trash. It is 2023 and I still remember this song word for word from when I was in highschool. You really feel every single lyric in this song.

2017, still fucking great
2020 tour with Senses Fail and Hawthorne Heights. back in 2006
This is the only version that exists for me.
Has it been that long?
Sooooo much better than the one on sirens and condolences
I DM’d bayside in a drunken moment some yrs back asking if they can bring this version to Spotify or something but no reply 🤧 I’m always sad when I’m forced to hear the album version in my car 😰
I love this band!! MULLSLEEBUR
"A failed apology, a day too late"
Well someone somewhere, is finding happiness. I'm not alright, you taught me that..
holy shit I see why I used to like this song a lot more
the other version is good but there's nothing like a good old fashion pop punk sound.
for some reason i like this verion from the name taken album more than the remake of it.. i guess i just like it rough sounding
this song is pretty sick, (like every bayside song) but i like the sirens and condolences version better, prolly just cuz i heard it b4 the ep one, but still so amazing
Official favorite here too.

Damn I love how bad this is
This isnt bad! This was the way Anthony wrote it. The record company must've made them change it by the time sirens and condolences came out
BUT WHERES ROCAHMBO???? PLZ
Yeah this is the original version. It is better the version that appeared on "Sirens and Condolences."

I think its great.
yeah i like the singing in thjis one better
the remastered version is way better, flows better, that "lying excuse of a person" was a great cut, but this one just screams agony.
why did this song make it to Sirens and Condolences? just asking
Because it's really good? Hey Welcome to Paradise was on two Green Day albums. I prefer this version better than the Sirens one.
so weird hearing this version
The best break up song
the music is better in this song too, forget the lyrics
better melody
yeah, i think the earlier version is way better too.
when i heard the 'remake' for the first time, i thought 'what the fuck?' cuz the changed lyrics just don't fit at all... (in my opinion)
dont be mean at least
he's famous and making money
i dont wanna fight on utube so dont get pissed k
Yeah the remake and changed lyrics are no where as good as the original :)
lol I am commenting to your comments already, I'm such a loser :P
Nothing is real!
This one goes out to Nicki....
shame on you xP
I have the exact opposite opinion of you, assuming this is the old version and Sirens and Condolences is the new version.

haha you kinda fucked up on the lyrics bro
