Foundation fridayyyyyy! Pinning a comment on the packaging since seems to be a hot topic. Yay for recyclable packaging! I totally didn’t make the connection that not having a mirror is because of that, so that totally makes sense. While I have never tried to manufacture a recyclable makeup product or know what the options are, as a consumer and this being priced at $38, it feels VERY lightweight and with the clear plastic looks quite cheap, so that’s just what I was trying to point out. It's so odd how this foundation is so different on literally everyone. This is the first foundation I've found that works nicely with my super dry flaky skin DX
Apparently there’s an ingredient in it that can clog pores easily for those with oily/acne prone skin. So I can see how it would work out better for dry skinned folks

I know toward the end you weren't feeling your best but it's so good to see a foundation review from you again. I hope as you ease into more it becomes more tolerable. Brava!!!
It really doesn't seem like a tinted moisturizer. I picked it up this morning, been wearing it about 6 hours. It's definitely got light-medium coverage and it's pretty mattifying. Honestly, the consistency reminds me of the Patrick Star primer that just came out, but with pigment added. The product contains talc high up in the ingredients list, which gives it a thickness and it dries down to a traditional matte-ish foundation kind of look. It's pretty blurring though, it almost performs like a hybrid of a foundation and a blurring primer mixed together. Definitely not like any tinted moisturizer I have ever used. So if you are expecting a coverage or finish similar to Glossier, I think you would find the new Fenty foundation not even slightly similar. But if you want something sorta light coverage, matte-ish and blurring, and lasts a bit longer, you might dig it!

@@eliza448 I don’t disagree with you or Taylor. I was merely pointing out it was a conscience choice, especially because Taylor said she wished it had a mirror.

No one does a foundation review like you, Taylor! I have missed new posts from you because I enjoy your content no matter what you're talking about, but thank you for bringing back what I consider a UA-cam Classic - a Taylor Foundation Friday!
I saw too much mouth review this foundation and she has oily skin and it looked flawless. I’m thinking that although they say it’s for more dry skin, it seems to work better on oily skin. That’s to bad bc I love the idea of a “balm” foundation. But my skin is dry af. Especially with all the acids and retinoids I use.
You are the first person I come to when I want to watch a review on any/all foundations before I even think about buying it because although we have some of the same skin issues, you ALWAYS tell people not only why something didn't work for you but you also mention why it could work for someone else. You along with EmilyNoel83, Nyma Tang and Seeking Alexandria's channels are my favorite channels for ALL makeup reviews especially foundation videos. 😊 Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Nancy. ❤
Ooooo damn... I was liking it alot, until the massive creasing happened lol.. I have tons of wrinkles and this foundation is definitely a no go for me. Thank you for saving me money taylor 😊💛
Spoiler Alert!: I'm glad that the universe saved me from trying this by having it sold out! LOL Also.. I curse TikTok for the insanity that they've created in "trends" selling out items of ALL kinds like NEVER before!
@PhasedPlasmaRifle InThe40WattRange yeah it definitely worked lol. But I feel like $30... even just $8 cheaper would have been way more appropriate for sure.
The only foundation review I need tbh. KVD lockit is one of my holy grails when I go out (lol) and want full coverage, so I've been so curious about this! Also we are usually the same shade. PS it's lovely to have you back testing foundations 🥰 its like there was all this hype and you just come back and go shhh, the professional is here.
The packaging makes sense if the focus is on recyclability. Mirrors are non recyclable and clear plastic is the most widely accepted. From a sustainability standpoint this is probably the best they could do with it being plastic.
You saved me some money, thank you Taylor! My forhead is my worst spot, I have deep lines from raising my eyebrows so much and I can rarely find a foundation that doesn't look horrible on me, especially my forehead. Seeing how yours looked and considering my forhead is 10x worse then yours is was the deciding factor. THANK YOU! I did finally find a "foundation" that looks stunning on me and all my fine lines-and not so fine lines, it's the new Wet N Wild Tinted Hydrator. It was like 4 bucks and I've never had a foundation look so beautiful and considering it's about 40 bucks less then what I usually buy is amazing!
I feel like $38 is too much. Also, I feel like it is so hyped up because maybe the brand sent it to a lot of the bigger beauty “influencers” to review since they are trying to get the brand name out again since they’re no longer owned by kat von d. And that leads me to doubt that all those influencers truly loved it lol just my opinion
A lot of people with dry skin had a totally different experience with it so you might still have good results. Even just in the comments fir this video there are several people saying it worked really dewy on them.
Right? Like do people not constantly complain that the Physicians Formula packaging is so unnecessarily bulky because they all have mirrors that nobody needs lol? And if the fully recyclable packaging is an important cornerstone for the brand, I think it's perfectly acceptable to expect people to make due with a mirror elsewhere. 🤷 Maybe that's just me though.
@@cm_mb Not having a mirror is definitely a savings, and most plastics are all recycled this is thinner and uses less- I’d say in this case sun oretty sure their packaging cost was less... but obviously I don’t have their specs 🤷🏽♀️
@@Dragonflyathena The process of recycling plastic currently costs more than making new plastic regardless of the quality. Thats why you don't see every company jumping on board to use recycled plastics to save money and instead stay producing new plastic for products.
@@dejat.4407 exactly. Adding a mirror would not make it expensive, it's a low cost item, so eliminating it would not make the end product that much cheaper. The cost is in the recyclable plastic. Also, you can get a mirror compact at the dollar store that was made in China. The cost to buy that in bulk would be less than 25 cents per compact (just guesstimating). That's why eliminating the mirror makes absolutely no sense to assume it would cost less. There are other costs involved in the process, not just what is obvious to see.

I watch your videos all the time, and I remember when you were having lots of troubles with your skin, I just have to say your skin looks amazing and you are glowing!!! So beautiful ❤️❤️
The packaging is deliberate-it’s fully recyclable.
Yeah that’s awesome however the brand is clearly saving so much on the packaging so why not pass some of that onto the customer? I think Taylor is right in saying $38 for a product that looks like it’s from dollar tree is a little bit ridiculous
@@eliza448 I don’t disagree with you or Taylor. I was merely pointing out it was a conscience choice, especially because Taylor said she wished it had a mirror.
She also stated it at @1:30. I agree with Bella it shouldn’t have been that expensive 💀
@@eliza448 Recyclable plastics are more expensive than new plastic :) but I can see why people aren't turned on by the packaging
Exactly. Thats what I just commented. Didnt read any of the others yet though
I've literally watched your channel forever and never realized how pretty your eyes are !!
Haha Kat von nope KVB? Lol the mondayest Friday ever and living for it!!
The natural light is SO amazing in that place!
You set up is looking great! Good distance and lighting :)
I love you in all black with your black hair and the gold chains
Have you tried the Urban Decay "Hydromaniac Tinted Glow Hydrator Foundation?" Would love to see you review that one!!
Yess I second this!!!
I was soooo disappointed of that foundation...greasy, pasty and not holding up well. And my skin is neighter oily nor dry. So many UA-camrs hyped that one.
@@claudiah8905 I have pretty dry skin and I was so excited to try it. Hydro my butt! It dries like a full coverage matte but it isn’t one. I’ll be mixing in to my missha bb cream on days I need a little more staying power.
Finally a close up! That’s key!!! Thanks!
I saw when this foundation was first being marketed, but I really did not expect Tik Tok to blow this up for some reason.
Just gotta comment on the lighting and video quality because I know you are always trying to make things look good. This was AWESOME! I could really see the details you were pointing out, so helpful!!
Woo hoo for Foundation Friday!
Taylor’s foundation review videos are Top Notch, thorough and on point . Helps one make educated purchases.
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE 🙌🏻
I like how you are honest. To me it has looked thick on every you tuber I have watched that has worn it.
To me it give a thick greasy look. I'm so glad your back. Kinda surprised me to see you so early but really enjoyed it. Can't wait till the next one.
One thing I do wish is that you would do a full face of make up. I love learning new eye shadow techniques. 😁
Me clothes shopping: oooo, maybe I’ll try a colour..
Also me: if it’s not black, put it back 😂
Me too...😄
My wardrobe consists of mostly black, dark grey, dark purple, dark colors in general. But a lot of black.
Love your foundation Fridays! Welcome back!
Kindness Vegan Beauty Discovery and Doing Good Vegan Beauty is the entire name, I’m not even shitting you. Someone at Kendo was shit faced, I swear.
UPDATE: Kendo has since dropped the second “Vegan” from the name. So it’s just Kindness Vegan Beauty Discovery and Doing Good Beauty now. Definitely had nothing to do with it, lol.
Lol KVBDDGVB omg what a bad name, doesnt even make sense
Everything kendo touches turns to shit
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Nancy. ❤
I agree on the packaging, I expected matte black w an Apple design, idk why, that’s what I pictured in my head 😂😂
The quality of this video looks amazing. Thanks for the review!
Yes! I knew you would be honest. TikTokers love it but their face looked splotchy. Welcome back!!!!
It's so nice to see a foundation Friday. I forgot it was Friday. I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Ooooo damn... I was liking it alot, until the massive creasing happened lol.. I have tons of wrinkles and this foundation is definitely a no go for me. Thank you for saving me money taylor 😊💛
Your foundation videos are by far the best on UA-cam!
Spoiler Alert!: I'm glad that the universe saved me from trying this by having it sold out! LOL Also.. I curse TikTok for the insanity that they've created in "trends" selling out items of ALL kinds like NEVER before!
And this is just another reason why I avoid TikTok like the plague, lol!
@@Ophelia441 same. I don’t get it. I think it’s stupid, I don’t get the hype lmao
I havnt been to your channel in years I recall when I hit 2k subs. So happy to see how far u gone
I am so surprised by how many people say it is drying on them. For me personally this is the MOST HYDRATING foundation I have ever tried.
Same! Verging on straight up greasy....my skin type is normal/dry.
That’s crazy lol it was very dry on my skin but I have very dehydrated skin
Prep might be making all the difference or something.
i missed your zoomed-in gorgeous face 🥺❤️ glad to have u back on fridays tay! ❤️❤️❤️
There’s no mirror and the packaging is super minimal to make it completely recyclable :) Beautiful as always. I’ll be passing on this product.
@PhasedPlasmaRifle InThe40WattRange that is a great point actually. Didn’t think about it that way at first.
@PhasedPlasmaRifle InThe40WattRange yeah it definitely worked lol. But I feel like $30... even just $8 cheaper would have been way more appropriate for sure.
No mirror, no applicator . why would I buy? Ridiculous!
I'm so confused I thought this was made for dry skin
Same. It looks like a dewy creamy balm foundation thing.
It definitely is the oil that comes out of this foundation is wild
Wow! What a great job on this video! I really liked your zoomed in and detailed check ins.
OMG your skin looks so good! I don't know what you've done but it's looking fantastic. Very clear & bright.
“So yeah you can definitely pass on this one”
Me just getting my shipping email 😭😭😭
LOL same 😭
I hope it works out for you!!!
A lot of people with dry skin had a totally different experience with it so you might still have good results. Even just in the comments fir this video there are several people saying it worked really dewy on them.
@@9melissal Exactly! Everyone’s different, people shouldn’t just put a foundation in the “no” pile just bc if Taylor’s review
😂😂😂
Off topic but your nail polish makes your eye color pop so beautifully when you were applying that foundation!!
Do people actually use the mirrors on compacts tho? Especially for foundations?
Maybe that's just me though.
I dont even use my eye palette makeup mirrors hardly I have a hand mirror that I use more often when doing my makeup or my phone camera
I do, but that because bim usually multitasking 🙈
Their only good use is for up-close tweezing of the eyebrows lol.
Thank you for doing this foundation. You’re one of the few people I trust when it comes to telling the truth in regards to foundation.
The packaging was very intentional. A big marketing point- fully recyclable.
I think thus great but then maybe they should lower the price point a little to match?
Recyclable doesn't necessarily mean less cost.
I’m so glad to see a foundation Friday! I wasn’t expecting it, so it was a very pleasant surprise! I’m glad you’re feeling better and up to filming, I hope your health continues to improve and thrive! And as always, I appreciate your honesty and how well informed you always are about what you’re reviewing! You’re appreciated!
Who else was waiting on Taylor to review this foundation before buying?🙋🏻♀️
I have to say, your camera quality is the best it's ever been!
I’m so shocked by how dry you say it feels going on when I’ve seen multiple tik tok videos and IG videos where it looked so dewy I thought I almost looked oily??? Crazy!
Hey Taylor. I’ve been watching for about 5 years, but I rarely comment. I just gotta say: it feels so good to see your video on this! I’ve always had a weird attachment to KVD, but stopped buying it after the controversy.
This is the second “dry skin” person to try this that this foundation looked dry on. So idk about their claims lol I think it just went viral bc it was “full coverage” and gave such a crazy transformation. I will be skipping on this one.
I am so happy and love the fact that your skin has cleared up 👏🏾
My favorite thing about the comment section is people saying the compact is recyclable as if Taylor didn't mention that one minute into the video.
Your honesty is so refreshing! Love you 💗
A forest-green shirt would look so beautiful on you! 🌳
Agreed 💚🌲
Your review is spot on. I think it's over hyped. Thanks for the honesty!
I'm glad you didn't like it so I don't have to buy it and I was pretty curious about this one 😅will you be reviewing the new marc jacobs coffee foundation though? 😏
THANK YOU for showing foundation in natural light omg ❤️❤️
I’ve never been so early! I’ve been wanting to try this one but I was worried it wouldn’t be light enough.
Oh they have almost white hun,but watch Manny mum's review .it is Amazing!
I love your real and honest reviews. You are so knowledgeable about foundation! Never used a product that you recommended that I didn’t like. I also had a hard time with that mascara! So happy you reviewed this! ❤️
