Thanks for this.I used to live just 2 miles or so from all these places from 1954-83 and moved just 11 miles away, thereafter. No one will ever see all of London and its Official 100,000 "Places Of Interest " in one lifetime. I am 69 and tried and failed...lol
Very nice indeed & for such a wonderful change, it was good to see the sun shining! So lovely to see. I am part English, although many of my ancestors hail from NW & Southern England, although i do have ancestors from SE England (London region) too. I pretty much have ancestors from all over England, the UK & Ireland. I have never visited London, so i will visit some day in the near future. I've visited a few of my favourite European cities & I'm due to fly to Europe later this year, but I haven't planned to visit London as yet. I will next time however. I lived less than 2 miles to the South of Tower/Westminster/Blackfriars/Southwark/Vauxhall/Lambeth and Waterloo Bridges but ny 1983,I was witnessing the "change" coming, and I moved 11 miles away to this house on the very edge of S E London and Kent. I still go back and "use" London...

Although an *Essex* boy now, my family had probably lived in *East London* for hundreds of years. I had a Grand Aunt, Aunt Daisy, who was 100 when she died, who actually remembered *Jack the Ripper* when she was living in the slums of the Eastend. Although she was born a few years after his murders, she lived on his exact patch & said the mum's would tell the kids - *_"Jack, he'll get ya!"_* if they were playing up! 😁

People think all Russians are bad and rotters, but this shows much of the young population in particular are decent people just like the rest of the world. It is a massive shame this country was taken over by gangsters and has not become a normal functioning democracy and worked with the rest of the world for great prosperity. Maybe one day. I particularly felt sorry for the young girl who said the war had given her and her friends anxiety.
