Loved the review of the camp site, thank you!! Do the the individual camp sites at Satara have braai facilities or do you have to bring your own?

      Hi Keren
Each site has it's own braai but I would advise you bring your own braai grid to be safe

Hi Neil I haven’t stayed at Satara, in fact I’ve camped at Skukuza and Pretorioskop only. Although I love Kruger, I think the camping experience there is not the best: water taps far away, ablutions not very well maintained, if you arrive late in long weekend, the sites you can find won’t be good with shade etc. I’m any case I’m planning to go to Berg en dal sometime soon. Cheers.

      Hi Banana Camper :)
I totally agree that the sites has their challenges, but nothing beats being in the Kruger :)
Enjoy the camping at Berg & Dal and be sure to check out our review of that campsite. It definitely is one of our favourites.

Hi Niel, thanks for another quality video. I booked a campsite for next year July (crazy how far ahead you have to book 🙂), and the only ones available were the ones without electricity. I have heard numerous stories about people cheating the system, but I definitely don't want to. My question is, do you perhaps know where in Satara the 9 or 10 stands are that don't have electricity? Are they together in a cluster / specific area in camp? Thanks, Gerhard

      Hi Gerhard
      Thank you for your comment.
I’m afraid I do not have first hand info on non-electrical sites and more specifically 9 and 10. I suspect they are on the right towards the end of the video before the exit but I am honestly not 100% certain.

@@AfricanCampsiteReviews SANPARKS should really consider demarcating and numbering the stands. It will solve a couple of issues. But in any case, thanks!

@@gerhardmeyer5083 I could not agree with you more. Numbering sites and allocating them to bookings in advance would make life so much easier.

Hi, I am planning a trip from Shingwedzi Camp, Satara and Skukuza. Can one book at the reception on arrival at the campsite.
    Regards,
    Rudolph

      Hi Rudolph
Yes you can book at reception but I would advise to be safe and book in advance. The camp can be fully booked well ahead of time in peak seasons.

I was told that you can’t book a fence site? How do you book
    That?

      Hi Lisa
I’m not sure if they still allow site allocations. It seems they change it all the time. The best would be to contact SANParks reservations on 012 428 9111

You cant book a fence site at Satara. It is on a first come first serve basis. It is a good idea to be there early [9am] in order to select a site, before checking in at 2.
