Battletech: Painted mechs so far - and what should I paint next?

- Here's my battlemechs that I've painted so far - and many more to come! Ive enjoyed painting and playing these. What Inner Sphere faction should I paint next? The Clans are on their way and I know what I"m painting there - Jade Falcon!
Next faction Marians, OWA, Deep Periphery Hanseatic or other something no one else has yet.

I picked Jade Falcon (Turkey?) for my clan - I know I know...
I'm a comguard guy myself, so I'll vote for them
I had no idea these guys existed - I love the color scheme and hex pattern that they show on unit color compendium.

Good video to share and get inspired for painting. I would vote Capellan as an OpFor for the Davion or Lyran as OpFor for the Kuritan.
Your missing the same House as I am in the collection ...... House Marik That's a good start to a collection when that Kickstarter shows up I'll have over 400 mechs in the collection and probable start House Marik

What regiment are the blue Davian paint Scheme from?
Its a regiment I came up with by myself - its not canon or on Camospecs or UCC. I sort of lovingly call them the "white trouser legion" 😀

Bro, your work is BADASS! I love the details you put into your mechs. I have never seen that chipping before. How did you do it?
Hey thanks! Much appreciated. Chipping is pretty easy actually. Get a little rioped piece of foam, like from a figure case or miniature blister insert. Dab it into dark grey paint wipe off most of the excess. Then dab that onto the mini, rotating it between dabs. Then do the same in the same areas with Leadbelcher or other silver metallic paint. Try to keep the silver inside the gray area for the most part. Boom! Chipping!

Interesting - I'm going to claim a little ignorance here, but are there well-known pirate factions, or more of a make-your-own kind of thing?
@@CrankyOldGamer Sarna.net is a good resource for this, but at times, the Oberon Confederation were known to pirate critical resources for survival.
The Outworlds Alliance was pretty much a group of pirates with their own fiefdom as well.
I second the Oberon Confederation being a cannon faction. I just painted my mechs black with red cockpits and they're effectively the pirate equivalent of a merc company. Freehanded some skulls and bones/ crude liquor bottles on em. The freehand is a little sloppy, but it fits the aesthetic.

Yeah Ive really wanted to do ComStar. My next projects I think are Marik, and Jade Falcon and Comstar for battle of Tukayyid games!

House Marik! You have blue, red, and green covered, so go for something new. A lot of their schemes use purple and white, so you don't necessarily have to choose the Marik Militia.

Capellan Death Commando's make a pretty good aggressor company for Davions.

Paint some House Marik units. They have so many factions you can make your own! Purple Bird Stronk! But I might be a bit biased as a long suffering Marik fan. Depending on the era, Mariks could be fighting Steiner, The Cappies or even each other. Also, canonically the Mariks used Combined arms more often than the other houses if you want to throw in Vehicles & Infantry.
I have to admit, I love the house Marik stuff Ive gotten painted up! Sikverhawk Irregulars.

I vote Wolf's Dragoons. That way you'll have a force that has a reason to fight anybody, anywhere, in almost any timeframe.

You know its funny I hadn't even REMOTELY considered that, but then I looked up on Unity Color Compendium and Wolf's Dragoons Alpha Regiment, and I absolutely love it. The black and orange are so striking - I may have to do this - thank you for the recommendation!
@@CrankyOldGamer You might laugh at how I came up with the idea. I ended up making my own 'Goon force as a means of getting some use out of some Alpha Strike minis that didn't quite fit in my other forces. I yoinked a Warhammer I couldn't decide where to put (Natasha), a spare ex-Steiner Zeus I was too lazy to paint marking onto so it wouldn't be confused with its twin (now it's Stacy Church's ride), two Shoguns I had no excuse putting anywhere else, and a Flea that I just plain hated. The rest of my 'Goons are generic 'mechs that more faction-flavored machines knocked off my other rosters.
In theory this is my "Come whatever may" OpFor company; in reality it's also an inside joke, my way of saying "I built a force out of cast-off parts and I can still wreck you."
