- High schools across Georgia paused before their games and showed respect, love, and solidarity with Apalachee High School, the site of a deadly shooting on Wednesday. Teams also wore the Apalachee "A" on helmets as a tribute. One of the victims, Richard Aspinwall, was a beloved football coach.

These are not military style weapons! In the military we used the M4 which is firearm that can firearm in full auto or burst. This are semi-auto rifles only fire one round at a time. From what I have seen and read, and despite the horrific shootings, the staff and students at this school were so well prepared to protect themselves. Their planning and fast actions to follow the emergency procedure(s) worked and probably saved other lives. I hope other schools see this and make sure their own schools have plans as well thought out and practiced. I also hope they never need to use them.

I don’t feel like our government is doing enough to prevent school shootings. I know it’s impossible to predict when something like this is going to happen but there are preventative measures that can make the world of difference. Maybe this is just me looking from the outside in but it doesn’t feel right. Especially with how much we’re monitored through our phones and social media.
Especially when the FBI already had a file on this kid. To me this seems like negligence. Our school’s should be one of the most protected places in our country. Our administrations and Federal agencies are just as much to blame for this in my opinion.

His father knew he was making threats and having issues so he bought him a weapon and gave him unsupervised access to it. State officials keep blocking real gun safety law and American citizens keep voting in the same liars who do nothing to make change.
