Good morning. I feel as though you’re speaking to me. I am a nurse in Melbourne and I started hand quilting last year with the lockdown. I had zero sewing experience, leaving it to my mother who was a dressmaker. I’m sitting here in the dark with yet another lockdown and I’m feeling very sorry for myself because spotlight is closed. There are so many things you’re saying in this video that I’m just experiencing right now and it’s as though you’re answering my questions because, after a year, I’m getting ready to start putting my rather ambitious, humongous story/family/ quilt together for my grandbaby in South Africa. I’ve rambled a bit but I wanted to thank you for this video that I needed at this time.
Thank you for sharing with us. I like your relaxed approach. I constantly get on myself for being slow. Now, thanks to you, I can relax and take my time and not feel I have to make a quilt in a day. It is helpful to know that we can use many different fabrics in one quilt and still have a marvelous result. I appreciate your suggestions and making yourself vulnerable to us. You are an inspiration to us who are just learning to quilt. Thank you again for taking the time to share with us.
Love love love your patterns! Hello from Clinton,Iowa
What a lovely person! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Jenny. I have two of her quilt booklets and am looking forward to scrappy quilting. 🌸
Jen, your fabric collection is beautiful. It was lovely hearing more about you. Your scrappy quilts are amazing.
Hah! That's just how I've learned to approach mistakes! If I know it will always bug me and I'll never forget, I fix the mistake. If I can stop thinking of it very quickly that's when I know I can let it go. What a fantastic interview, very insightful.
You are such an inspiration! I am sorry I wasn't able to come to the weekend you had at Intown Quilters in Atlanta.
I am waiting on the release of Gardenvale. I can not wait.
What a lovely interview. Jen, your quilts are gorgeous. I'm just getting the hang of scrap quilting, beginning to understand how freeing it can be. Of course if also helps that my stash is finally growing! I love the quilt shown at 3:03. I love the advice you give about using LOTS of different fabrics.
Very enjoyable... Thank you...
I love hearing quilter's stories. This was really a good motivator. I worry too much about colors and styles "matching." I plan to get away from that with Jen's encouragement.
Is there somewhere to look up tutorials for Delilah quilt?
Hello Janis! We did not find a tutorial for her Deliliah quilt.
Are you concerned about color’s bleeding?
Hello Janice! You can use a color catcher to pre-wash your fabrics.
