i am a die hard diana fan and have been since her boss album...i am not in disagreement of your statement...there is an industry standard for a reason once you have gone past a certain amount of time you have completely lost the moment...she added nothing to the anticipation by keeping us wating that long... am also a huge fan of madonna and have attended just about every concert she has given...but her last concert she kept the audience waiting for well over an hour....no artist is worthy of that kind of delayed wait...and that will be my last madonna concert...keeping your audience waiting that long is also very disrespectful...
I REMEMBER, my first record that i got was BABY LOVE,and When I found out that WHERE DID OUR LOVE GO was their first Number 1,I WAS LIKE DAFFY DUCK ON CRACK LOL. AND FOREVER WILL the THE SUPREMES all the SUPREMES be in my heart.

I think she arrived there late I could be wrong but I think that's what it was. Or it could have been just a intro as usual building up anticipation ,but i believe she just arrived from another event causing an delay? ?
your thinking tooo deeep!! it was just an introduction!! her concerts usually has a long intro. at radio city hall nyc, she would have the audience waiting. then she would have a lookalike drag queen come down the aisle from the back of the theatre, and everybody was screaming and clapping. then the drag queen would go in an aisle and sit down. everyone was surprised!! saying "oh shit". then diana would come out on the stage!! how's that for an introduction!!
