Awesome achievement!! In 2003, a friend (Martin Cox) and myself ran the complete Annapurna circuit in 4 days. We were very pleased with ourselves but this really puts it into perspective!
This is such a small world . I met Pemba while I was doing EBC. I met him in Labuche . He took us to the Labuche base camp in the evening by just talking and taking :) Wow what a amazing videos with great tips may be may be some day some passes for me too .
Too good.Hats off & my salute to both of you. Thanks to the entire team for making such beautiful documentary. The background tracks are out of the world.Keep it up fellas.
Fantastic movie! Crazy scenery along the way, especially in Dolpo, those are stunning areas I've never seen before. Sad you couldn't complete the entire GHT, but still what you've been able to do is more than impressive, congrats to you and Anna, you are one crazy couple! :)
Last year i walk Pyrenees mountains ( HRP ) it was my first long trekking ( 39 days ) ...and i want more :). I love to try GHT next year...i hope i will have stamina to do this . What Philippe and Anna done its amazing...to run that distance on that altitude with backpack....klękajcie narody :) ps. Anyone know name of that melody at 10:51 ?
Amazing views (being scared of heights I doubt I'll ever see this for myself! XD), and probably an the opportunity to learn about oneself: the time alone, close to nature, the physical challenge... And I'm glad my music helped putting some feelings into this video summarizing the adventure! It helps us, the audience, glimpsing at what such a journey means to you guys...
Its crazy to think that the likes of Gatta and steck aren't already in folklore like Messi, Ronaldo, Bolt etc. Messner ain't a household name either, i guess people just don't want to comprehend what all these people have done/do. It's considered insanity! And it probably is.. But Wow. Thankyou very much for your amazing films. Contact the BBC and tell them this footage has to be seen in British households. People will love it. Stay safe.
Bonne chance.
Hello Amazing acheivement and very beautiful movie you have made. I can see that the cyclone stopped you from doing Tilman pass but was just wondering this stopped you also doing Amphu Labpsa and Sherpani col etc into Makalu area? Was this also part of your original plan but stopped by the snow from the cyclone?
Large part of the trail goes through restricted areas (Dolpo, Manaslu etc) where 2 trekkers and a guide is compulsory. How did you manage to go without? Without permits?
Philippe Gatta you seem to have used a bivvy. I am planning to walk across from Manaslu to Dolpo. There are teahouses in Manaslu and Annapurna. My concern is from Kagbeni to Rara in Dolpo via Charkabhot, Dho, Phoksundo, Shey Gompa, and Phogaon. I have a tent weighing at 2kg. But do you think it's sensible to carry a tarp and bivvy instead for sleep system. I have -5c sleeping bag n thermarest Z Matt. I plan to do n finish this in mid-September to early-November. Dolpo is relatively barren n in high altitude. Do you think it's a good idea to make tarp tent camp with a bivvy? Thank you
Hi, it is your decision, of course a tent, matt, etc. is more comfortable but it is heavier and then it will slow you down. I did not carry any tent, tarp but I have a -20c sleeping bag which got wet during the rain and snow falls. Do not except tea house in high Dolpo.
Thank you so much for great documentary..
Thank-you, i am 80 now and only realizeing our whole planet is engaged with its power...... awe on my part.

That's where I'm from...my ancestors my genes where I want to go back one day...
Amazing. 40 Km per day in Himalaya is just Unbelievable ..
As seasoned Nepal trekkers my husband and me want to ask in which shop you bought your knees. We want those, too.
🙏🏻 Respect 🙌
Incredible!!
Huuge Congrats!
Do you happen to have a GPS track for the route? I'd be curious about your exact route!

Hi Thanks.
Amphu Labpsa and Sherpani col have been closed after the Cyclone, very sadly several people died in avalanche in this area.
This is amazing!

This on fleek

5:00 did you not carry a tent ?
No tent, no stove to be light.

How did you survive the wolves ?
They were mostly curious and not agressive, they followed me for a while and left.
@@philgatta Okay the sense intrusion or territorial, the logistics of the trip how did you accomplish that ?
😎😎😎🤗🤗🤗🤗
hey I want to do that.
With out GPS you head little toward south…. U will be caught by Chinese army
