  • Accompany Kirby as he joins Edward and Eddie Sahakian for one of their favorite Havana rituals: a walk down Havana’s historic O’Reilly and Obispo streets from the Kempinski Hotel to Plaza de Arias. Edward and Eddie share with Kirby the many memories formed during their 30 years of traveling back to Havana annually for the Festival del Habanos.
Witness the fusion of past and present as we wander through Havana's eclectic avenues, where every corner tells a story. From the architectural grandeur of colonial buildings to the rhythmic pulse of street music, Havana reveals its character in layers, waiting to be explored. Edward and Eddie Sahakian, with their profound appreciation for Cuban culture and its famed cigars, offer insights that only true aficionados can
As we traverse the city, they share their personal connections to this place, intertwining tales of heritage with the sensory experiences of the present. This isn't just a tour; it's a journey through the soul of Havana, where every step unearths a deeper understanding of Cuban tradition and lifestyle. So come along and experience the city's heartbeat with us, on a walk that captures the essence of Havana's enduring charm.

Some may say that these videos go over the top with the civility. Yes we forget it is precisely because of the loss of this hallmark of a great civilization, that we have so many problems in the world today. When strong moral men act in a civilized manner then we progress as nations. Well done Kirby and Eddie for reminding us of this.

@@gabrielcastillo13 Whatever happened in Cuba, and I don’t want to downplay it, but Cuba has become truly an unique place where many aspects of society are superior to what is going on in the west. It is not a contest, but it’s just something to enjoy and appreciate. So we can be measured in our respons, like Kirby, Eddie and Edward. Again, that’s easily said without having the experience of living there, but I see so much I appreciate, so much I’d like to see in The Netherlands where I live. In the west smoking is under attack and sometimes we are under attack when smoking a cigar on the streets, yet in Cuba it is celebrated when you do it. So enjoyable!

As a Cuban native living in La Habana as a kid in the 50’s I remember the Foxa building, at that time the tallest building in Cuba, the Caribbean and Latin America, designed and built by Cuban talent. I’m Cuban born and raised there. Remember all the people you see on this video are suffering and cursing the day they were born on this island. You will often see lines of people sitting on the sidewalks, most of the time those lines are for buying simple things such as bread or eggs. People are really struggling. The young people are migrating and leaving the country. Out of All of the people I studied with I would say half have already left and the other half are dying to leave. My entire family has left during the past ten years, some 20+ people or so. Watching this video as a Cuban is truly heartbreaking to me. I’m “Americanized” now but at the end of the day these are still my people. I walked those streets so many times.

@@kimtoannhan7275 Thank you! As an FYI. When it comes to health care it is true it is technically “free”. Except that when you take into account the fact that right now if you need surgery, let’s say, you the individual has to bring the gloves, syringes, anesthesia, and all the instruments to be used in the procedure. And also don’t forget the little gift to the medical team. Lastly, salaries are so bad that it would be better to have no free healthcare and higher salaries. That would still not be good given the fact that they pay you in Cuban pesos but most of the goods they (the state) sells you are in US dollars or another foreign currency. So the average Joe can’t even buy shit. Don’t be fooled Cuba is a disaster area, Cubans migrate anywhere including Haiti or Congo cause that island is just a prison with palm trees.

Kirby, thankyou so much for showing a little of the life in Havana. US needs to lift all its nonsence about bringing cigars back.
I never cease to be amazed by the quality, humanity, tactful and generosity that your videos portray.
Many people forget that Kirby and the Sahakians are also running businesses in these difficult times, but still find time to share lifetime experiences that a lot of people would never get to experience. I feel that I have travelled every mile of all your travels.
Thanks again Kirby, not forgetting thanks to Edward and Eddie and the amazing Gemma Freeman.

As much as I agree with you about the completely insane US restrictions, one has to wonder what would happen if the market is completely opened up to the USA. The current level of Cuban production just could not handle it, they will be overwhelmed. Prices will be even more unaffordable than they already are. Of course, I am English, and might not be saying that if I was American!

Cool seeing Eddie so casual, not what I am used to seeing. If I did not know who he was I would have guessed movie star or movie director. Looks like a fabulous trip.

I love how beautiful you talked about Cuba, but you did you noticed how the buildings that are occupied are on the brink of collapsing and seems like they’re abandon. How everyone walking around looks like their souls have been taken. It feels like you guys are from a different planet. Viva Cuba Libre

I don't wanna bring politics into this amazing video but...3 famous and very rich individuals walking around by themselves in old havana, not necessarily a touristic part of the city, enjoying cigars and feeling safe,at home. Yet you can't do this in other latin American countries or in the Caribbean or you will get robbed and most like killed in some places. Yet United States considers Cuba a terrorist country 🤨🤨, and makes it difficult for american citizens to freely visit the islands 😡😡. God bless Kirby for showing this part of Cuba as well.
