We usually stop at Tex Best in Dilley. One of the things that I love seeing is the beacon light from McKinley Field near Pearsall. One sad thing, is seeing the empty fields of mesquite, cactus, and grass disappear over the years. The area is going through an oil boom, and lots of refineries have suddenly appeared. The small towns are growing.
