Hyperscale is a tier offering of Azure SQL. It was a little unclear but it sounded like Brent said he doesn't work on Azure SQL but then mentioned Hyperscale and Managed Instance. MI is Azure SQL but not the full PAS offering. Hyperscale is Azure SQL and is there newest flavor (Excluding fabric) and it is built with a lot of the concepts of Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) architecture under the hood.
