RFC’s are basically the internet protocol standards. Concepts like TCP/IP and DNS are an example of something that became an internet standard that’s now widely used. So if you see something is an RFC or has an RFC number just think of it as being standard.

Why is fiber spelled fibre here? is it the same fiber or is this something different?
Go to 1:20 in the video. Fibre Channel technology can utilize fiber or copper cabling.
