There is a tiny detail that is lost in translation and makes this more touching: When Ayla approaches, in Turkish Suleiman says "Isn't that Ayla (that is approaching)?" in Turkish instead of "Is that Ayla over there?". It is a subtle difference, but shows that Suleiman instantly recognized his daughter.
This is a REAL documentary film! Far and far better than Hollywood blockbuster. Deserve for an Oscar award! Many many thanks to the production team for this documentary.

Turkish and Koreans aren't that different in races as Turkish people were come from Central Asia/somewhere around Mongolia. They just have mixed with caucasians in the Anatolia

I wish there had been a way to bring Ayla when she was a child, i wish that little girl hadn't lost a father second time in her lifetime. But maybe it should suppose to be this way, and maybe this way it is better. It is so sad to learn Mr. Suleiman passed away, but i am happy to see his last wish was fullfilled; to see her daughter, Ayla once again. May Allah's mercy be upon his soul. the real Turkish people, especially in villages, are so simple, kind and friendly .. I visited turkey for tourism 2 years ago and our tour guide was Turkish young man and he was so funny and kind even my little kid liked him (my kid does not involve easily with others ), can you imagine that he refused at the end to count his money and said thanks, as we asked him to count if he satisfied with what we gave him. I really miss turkey :(

He was destined to meet Ayla that night when he first found her. It was already written in the destiny. God was showing a path to Suleyman. He made a promise and the promise had been kept. All he ever wish was to meet her one last time. I'm glad they finally met after 60yrs. He passed away happily and peacefully few years ago (2017). Such a beautiful lovely story. Mr. Suleyman still managed to live another 7 years after he found Ayla. It would have been great if he found her sooner when he still had more years left.
My late grandfather was a Korean War veteran. This movie had a great impact on me. I found many connections between what my grandfather said and the movie while watching it. The kind words of South Korean friends made me very happy. South Korea and Turkey are two friendly countries in war and peace and will always remain so.

Such a sad story. Mr. Suleiman was the father that Ayla never had. Ayla was the daughter that Mr. Suleiman loved from heart. I wish there had been a way to bring Ayla when she was a child, i wish that little girl hadn't lost a father second time in her lifetime. But maybe it should suppose to be this way, and maybe this way it is better.
It is so sad to learn Mr. Suleiman passed away, but i am happy to see his last wish was fullfilled; to see her daughter, Ayla once again. May Allah's mercy be upon his soul.

the real Turkish people, especially in villages, are so simple, kind and friendly .. I visited turkey for tourism 2 years ago and our tour guide was Turkish young man and he was so funny and kind even my little kid liked him (my kid does not involve easily with others ), can you imagine that he refused at the end to count his money and said thanks, as we asked him to count if he satisfied with what we gave him.
I really miss turkey :(

He was destined to meet Ayla that night when he first found her. It was already written in the destiny. God was showing a path to Suleyman. He made a promise and the promise had been kept. All he ever wish was to meet her one last time. I'm glad they finally met after 60yrs. He passed away happily and peacefully few years ago (2017). Such a beautiful lovely story. I teared up watching both the movie & this documentary. This is call pure "LOVE". GOD bless Suleyman family, Ayla and her family.❤️
Mr. Suleyman still managed to live another 7 years after he found Ayla. It would have been great if he found her sooner when he still had more years left.
My late grandfather was a Korean War veteran. This movie had a great impact on me. I found many connections between what my grandfather said and the movie while watching it. The kind words of South Korean friends made me very happy. South Korea and Turkey are two friendly countries in war and peace and will always remain so.
