Love this. Thank you. That was when people actually worked there. Shopping malls killed the independent stores. too bad.

Thank you for putting this together. Great job! Ahhhh the memories. The Thursday nights on Queen Street in the 70s. Bumper to bumper of cars and the sidewalks filled with teens. Good times! I miss those days.

I was born in the falls in 72. Sadly, I don't recall any of the stores, but it was fun to watch!

Great job putting together this video. I remember many of the stores - Rosberg's, Kents, Reitmans, Eatons and the Mayflower Restaurant. I especially remember going to the movies with my friends. It is too bad that all of these stores had to close because of the big shopping malls.

Barbara Frum grew up in Niagara Falls. Her dad ran Rosberg’s department store, which closed in 1988.
Niagara Falls’ business district has gone downhill since then. It’s in the Rust Belt.

Cataract Sports And Hobbies. Used to go there as a kid when it was Steele's Sports And Hobbies. Worked at Seneca Theater for a couple of years in the 80s too.

I used to take violin lessons at the Bradley Institute as a kid and I would walk home and stare at the digital watches in the window at Ostranders, wishing I could afford one. Thank you for sharing this!

I grew up on Queen Street in the 60's and this video is amazing. I'm looking for info on the Oriental Restaurant. My family ate there every 2nd week after payday. My mom and sister don't remember but I do. Turkey sandwiches covered in gravy and "Those Were the Days" on the juke box situated at every booth. Help prove me right!
