"I want a church that looks like twelve steps" - It's called Celebrate Recovery and it was God's plan to bring me close to Him.
What I love about this song is how both religious and non-religious friends of mine that I have sent this to during a time of need really can connect with the genuine feeling of being there for them this song portrays
The moment I was listening to this, some friends of mine in discord started talking about how they wrestle with their darkness and their secrets. I couldn't hesitate sending this. It was way too perfect timing to be a coincidence in my mind.

Love that!!! Music transcends. It has always been the great communicator in my life.
I confessed some things from my past to my wife yesterday, and now this song pops up on the radio. Perfectly summed up how I'm feeling right this moment. It's been over a year since I was kicked out of my home, confessed something else then too. Just as it seemed like we were about to reunite, a teaching comes up that convicts me to let the rest of my past go specifically concerning my marriage. Been praying profusely today for healing and wisdom for both sides. God bless all of you who watch this video, and I ask you who see this to pray for my wife and I to find reunion, impossible as it may seem right now.
My dear brother in Christ, I pray that God and His Holy Spirit will comfort you, as you go through this trial. Confession is hard, but it is a way to healing and wholeness. May God work in you and your wife to reunite. Please just keep praying and holding on to God. Jesus is your Brother and Friend through this difficult season. Hold on to Him. I love the honesty in this song. Tenth Avenue North's music always held a special place in my heart because of its realness and now Mike's shares that place too. Also I love that this wasn't a boring normal lyric video. It made me smile and laugh so much!

Seeing you perform this Livestream for the first time during the Farewell Show was one of the most powerful, uplifting moments EVER. It was amazing seeing this new chapter of your story basically set free during that song. Truly amazing and unforgettable. I could watch those moments over and over.

I agree. We want the church to be a safer place. Do we get taught how to respond better to each other? I've done church since I was born. The BEST group I've ever been in was a 12 step for women with similar history. It took commitment to listen and not judge. The balance is knowing how to listen, love, accept, and when to bring truth in, how to point people to Jesus as the only thing that heals and satisfies. I've never seen that part- the balance of both. Get to know rather than just throw the truths at each other that makes you feel you've done your job of being a Christian listener. Don't just throw out "God works for the good of those who love Him" as if you know when the person needs to hear that and speaking that gives life in every situation.
I love how "mike" this is. It's great to see you getting to be so much yourself. I can't express how much my soul needs for this song to touch and change the mentality of every one who hears this. Imagine, a safe place where I can be who I am, an imperfect Christian. Its crazy that the "world" is doing such a better job of loving itself than we Christians are.
Why did the editing remind me of Napoleon Dynamite’s dance? 😂 Seriously, though, I love the message of this song. As we, the Church, are honest with our struggles, may we point one another to Christ & His grace. ❤️
