  • A day trip looking for a guitar in Mexico around Sayulita to the north east of that with screenshots of maps and different locations along with a little bit of directions to find a bus with cheap transportation, do not trust the taxi drivers.
I recommend you make sure you have the Uber app activated and have used it ahead of time in case you need someone to come rescue you
The buses won’t take you back to where you started in Sayulita, you’ll most likely have to walk because the Uber drivers will just sit there and look at you across the parking lot while you can see them on your map because it doesn’t pay them enough so they wait until you cancel then the next time you try to get a Uber ride it bumps it up 50% and they wait and you cancel again and it keeps going back-and-forth between you canceling and ordering until it gets to around 300 pesos And then they’ll give you a ride for a mile or so.
On a sidenote, almost all Uber drivers will rent their car by the hour and give you rides off the clock. If you ask them they will just turn their app off and do it for cash. 250 pesos an hour is a fair price. Remember the wear and tear on their vehicle as well as the cost of their gas, they’re not getting rich for 250 pesos an hour if you’re just want a driving tour.

Yep I got hosed but I knew that was happening but it was even worse when some of the guitar players walking the beach come up and asked “what did you pay for that” and immediately I knew it was way too much, so I was really shy and even with an inflated number they just kinda laughed and looked at one another and said that I got taken. (that wasn’t the actual word they used.) the guitar cost me about seven or eight times what they said it was worth. I was going to risk my personal safety and go ahead and take a bus trip all the way to Paracho and buy a guitar from supposedly the best guitar maker alive still in Mexico for several thousand dollars but I got to looking online and people were saying to be really careful because if you don’t have All the paperwork in order (due to exotic wood species being protected) then your customs and border patrol will confiscate the guitar when you get back into your country. Even if your paperwork is in order, they still might look at it funny and say no and take it anyway so it’s not worth it.
