Just as simple as being kind to not only to others but to yourself…
Stop limiting yourself with what God gave you.

I was living in a toxic living situation & I was at big odds with all my loved ones & trusted no one then a dear old friend reached out & allowed me to live rent free for 3 months while I got back on my feet working a new job. Forever grateful...I still can't believe the story I had to go through but meant so much that this Women was willing to do that for me. Jesus hooked me up when I was so losted. Grateful for going through it all cause it completely Humbled me.

I recently started volunteering with the hospitality team at my home church as a greeter and usher! I love serving God with the church hospitality team.

Our previous church would hold small groups and someone had opened their home. The husband would give the Bible study and his wife would entertain the kids. Their house was rather small, but that period of time was one of the most impactful in building relationships that we have experienced to this day. We drove over 45 minutes every Friday to attend for 6 weeks. It was a loving and Spirit-filled environment. That memory will always stay with me.

This has been so timely as it’s massively on my heart at the moment and definitely an area I want to grow in. I keep holding back because my “house isn’t the best/biggest/nicest” but that is just not what it’s about.
When I was in my early twenties I went to a much smaller church, and there was a guy there who loved to cook. Almost every Sunday he’d just gather a bunch of people from church (single, married, young, old, with kids, without) and invite them round for lunch. He’d just open his home, cook for people, and we’d hang out together playing games. I’ve always remembered how special those times were during that season of my life, and have forever wanted to replicate that in my current season. I think that’s part of what’s been holding me back though, maybe aiming too high while I’m in a season of life with young children, but my eyes have been opened this week in particular to different ways we can live out biblical hospitality. Thanks for this video Kaci!

I'm so glad this was helpful! And that guy from your old church...what a beautiful example of hospitality! It does look different with young children but still such a beautiful and powerful thing to practice!

This is something I’ve struggled with many times in my life. I always felt ashamed that my house is not the best and the cleanest when people show up at our door unannounced. And then my whole spirit would be unwelcoming to people. But I agree that my belief around hospitality had been so wrong all this time. I always felt people want to look at pretty things around your house. But actually, they just want to feel the love of God. Thank you so much for this video. It helped me a lot. 💞

Kaci, I really enjoyed this video and it is something that I have been contemplating. My husband recently passed away and I have been thinking about how to bring more people into my life and how to participate more in the activities at my church. I have been out of the loop for several years because of my husband's health and care, but it has been pressing on my heart to get more involved with people and begin to cultivate new friendships and activities. Thank you for this timely push. God Bless!

Kaci, thank you so much for this video! God knows this has been on my heart and an area I need help in. It has been in my heart for the past year to start, and now being recently married and living in a new state, I desire to have people over and host, in hopes of community. This video was so helpful in regards to what it really means to host and how good it can be for me in molding my heart and focusing more on Jesus.
Would you be able to share how you actually prepare to host the evening of and meals so I can get started? I usually get overwhelmed and rarely host because cooking and meals is my least favorite (exhausting) and most intimidating part for me...

I feel like for me the first step is simply extending the invitation.
A year ago we moved 2.5-3 hours away from my family, and are now living 40 minutes away from our church, so I just have something stopping me from inviting people over because I don’t think they would want to travel that far to visit. I love hosting, but just can’t get past not wanting to put people out by “making” them drive so far to see us

I love this! Does anyone have any good tips for getting people together when they're in the busiest season of their lives? The majority of my friends have small kids with husbands working nights and/or weekends, and it's tough to get people together especially on a regular basis.

    Thank you for this video!
Something that has been a little bit of a discipline-practice is letting something in my home be "un-aesthetic" for the sake of practicality in hosting. So sacrificing my house looking exactly the way I want IF something else makes more sense for the whole of people who walk into our house, or just if something makes more sense for the stage of life we are in. It humbles me enough to be reminded of the true reason for hospitality!

Can I hug you remotely, friend ? 😉🫶🏻 so much needed words you said. I am struggling - building friendships seems slow ( am I doing it right, does it work etc ). So encouragement to simply faithfully show up seems just right 🙏🏻
