100% do your own research and make your own judgement. Lost 75% of my capital buying an energy stock I did not do research on my first year of trading (FAR). Still keeping it in my porfolio as a reminder. Others that I actually did FA and TA analysis returned quite handsomely such as REA, SOL and APX, all more than 100%. Love your shows Janine and Dale
Best lesson i learnt in the market.. Stick to your trading plan! Emotional reactions always prove to reduce your gains (getting out too early on a win) and get burnt by not getting in on a solid signal (FOMO). Always follow your plan!
Best lesson/s I learnt is that the market doesn't owe you anything and that you should not chase a loss or a bad stock with good money just to get even on a position. Always follow through with your stop loss, and even when you are aware of some of the typical pitfalls, having the correct temperment/psychology during a trade is critical.

You see, a mate introduced me into the SM some 3 years ago & I picked up a grand in 10 days. I thought "How easy was that". The next year I lost around 8 gees through not researching my investments. That scared me so the next year I didn't buy any stocks but simply watch the markets to get experience. Over the next 12 months, I can safely say I got back in the saddle & I've got my head above water....& I'm on the way forward "Touchwood & probably thx to the corid as well". I did notice on your show tonight (around the 36-minute mark) I've actually done what you were talking about Dale by buying 3 of the top 10 energy stocks after selling a 50% profit win on CCL, so I must be doing something right. Would love to sit down & have a fed one day & pick both your brains. Now that would be a great & positive experience. Cheers ;-)
Hi Dale & Janine, My question is regarding to Westfield (URW), I am wondering if i should cash in from the stock which rose 43% on November 9th. The increase was too much for any large/mid Cap stock in a day. Do you think its going to drop around $2.80 and then buy it again? Love your broadcasts by the way. Hoping I would get reply this time! Hi Janine and Dale, love the show. Just wondering if I could get your thoughts on Blue Scope Steel (BSL). It has been in a downward trend since the 16th of July 2018 however it has recently had 2 successful weeks closing above the long term downtrend. As for the question "What is the best lesson the market has taught you?" that would be don't play with penny stocks! my first experience was picking a hot tips like ARV, AVZ, 4CE jumping in and out on daily basis accumulating large entry and exit fees in the process.
Energy is definitely only for trading right now. The sector as a whole is in a decline. Gas, oil, coal are all dying industries. Renewables will replace them but it won't be fluid. It will be extremely volatile.
