The singer is Midigma Dorzhieva who lives and works in Ulan-Ude Buryatia (Buryatia is an autonomous republic of the Russian Federation located near Lake Baikal). In her songs she often draws upon motifs, which are native to the Buryat culture and history. Besides English and Russian, she sings in Buryat too so she is well known not only in Russia but also in Mongolia (Buryat belongs to the Mongol language family). Midigma well aware of her native history and she is also a great admirer of the Hun history and culture. In December 2011 Midigma has been awarded the "Golden limba" award, which is Buryatia's most prestigious music award.
