the stainless steel is a great catalyst, so it accelerates the chemical reactions that will break the molecules responsible for the smell that sticks in our hands, and then they get washed away.
It won't diminish the flavor to the point of having a tasteless dish, but that's the main reason kitchens smell good after a good clean, is not just the soap you use to clean it, the steel makes the work too
"When you touch stainless steel, the molecules in the steel bind with the sulfur molecules on your hands, thus transferring the molecules (along with the smell) to the metal and off from your hands. Presto!"
I have one my mom had forever and gave to me. I HATE how my hands smell after handling onions! This thing actually works! I just get a dab of Dawn and wash my hands with it like its a bar of soap and it legit works.
yeah just the same as tea bags take the toxins out of your body if you put tea bags on the soles of your feet when you go to bed. no really it works!!!!!! also the earth is flat. and slava ukraini.
Why screw around with this stuff? Just wear nitrile gloves, the stink is on the gloves. When you're done just strip off the smelly gloves and toss the smell into the trash.
@@sadface the amount of energy that went into producing these stainless steel nuggets and transported them to the consumer is far more than what was needed to create an entire box of nitrile gloves. besides we will have little robots with bio-enzyme recylcers inside of them, trawling around landfills and shorelines consuming and recycling plastics within the next 20 years. Calm yourself. Stay strong and hang in there kitten. It gets better. Stop AAPI hate. Black lives matter. Fight the patriarchy. No human is illegal.

...do go on.
Finally I found a scientific explanation about this
That seems pretty farfetched to me.. not saying you are wrong though.
..with that logic you should be able to just rub your hands on the kitchen sink and voila! no smell.
@@the_gameYes. Exactly.
I wonder if that also means that cooking things like garlic and onions in stainless steel pans would diminish their flavors
Probably
Hmm interesting thought that I had never considered!

Rubbing your hands on a stainless sink does the same thing.
Yeah but what if you don't have a sink with you on a vacation ?😊

Did it occur to you that perhaps the Dawn is doing most of the work and not the steel?
@@SouthbaySpeaks yes it has occurred to me. But I have tried both with and without the steel. This isnt pseudoscience, this is a known phenomenon.
Seems cool! Didn't know that stainless steel could take out the smell!

There was a man who used it for deodorant
Always have one in my fishing bag :) Works wonders xD even kitchen sink works, but those "soaps" are easier to use
Raw shrimps?
All I can think about is how much water they wasted and that the water was running the whole time
I came here because Ryan trahan didn’t try the steel soap
Welcome 😊
Garlic bread ??
Was the butter from garlic bread on my hands 😂
Looks strange 😮
imagine that people buy this crap
Rest
gets rid of the smells on ur hands, now ur hands smells like steel
Pros and cons 😂
What a waste of time

Yup but no trashes yes future my friend ;)
Yeah just keep piling gloves in the bin instead of using sustainable things...
