I read the book in the Japanese translations, and the way it was worded made it sound like Lilia was dying or smth. Especially if you play the Masquerade event, its mentioned that magic can be like a life-force and considering fae's are made of magic and heavily rely on it- it really fuels those theories that Lilia is about to kick the bucket
Personally I don't really think the teleport part is what concern malleus tho maybe he can visit lilia at all time, what make him sadder is lilia wasn't going to accompany him anymore in his road to be the next king of briar valley. Lilia is his capable retainer after all. Malleus can also teleport both silver and sebek to lilia's place, but maybe lilia suggesting the plane because he doesn't want them to bother malleus too much.
Yeah I’m more confused by Lilia than anything I mean maybe it’ll be explained later but I don’t really get his choice to up and leave after basically raising them. Maybe he thinks that’s what’s best for them but clearly it’s not
About Malleus with the whole teleporting part: he can only teleport in places he has gone to before. i.e Ramshackle dorm he’s been to many times before MC even came along, which is why he mostly teleports from his dorm to Ramshackle when he wants to spend time alone. (Same logic applies to Fast Travel in gaming, you can only fast travel to places you’ve discovered/unlocked in a sense.) With the case of Lilia moving to an entirely different country, Malleus has been stuck in his home castle since birth as the next King of Briar Valley, therefore he hasn’t travelled to the outside world along with Lilia. NRC in main story line is mostly the only place Malleus has ever gone to outside of BV, he only ever knows about the rest of the world through books. And why it’s so simple for Sebek and Silver to go visit Lilia in Land of Red Dragons is because they can visit Lilia by plane, whereas for Malleus- once he graduates NRC he will most likely still be stuck at home preparing for his role as King, which makes it next to impossible for him to visit Lilia. There’s also more-but I’m gonna leave it at that to keep it spoiler-free since the rest of the Briar Valley lore will be explained in later parts of the story. Hope this clears some of the confusion? 😅
Okay I have another solution then. Before he graduates, we send him on a vacation to Lilia's new home. Then he can teleport there whenever he wants, even when he goes back home lol
yea malleus can only teleport to places he's been to before. way way way earlier in the main story of twst it's mentioned that casting magic takes creativity and imagination, so teleporting probably requires visualizing the destination through familiarity of the location of visiting often. plus malleus is like precious cargo that probably can't go out to visit lilia through modern means. and then spoilery reasons for later in this book too. oh no you stopped the video like just before the big scenes! @@Its_Moog honestly one way to get them to see each other would be for lilia to visit the Scalding Sands with that business card he got, and have Malleus teleport to Scalding Sands since he was there for the homecoming twst event. and then the two of them can hang out. im sure Kalim would love to see the two of them as well 😁
