This sounds like a boss battle, but with tragic lore. It has a tone of peril, but then at around 0:29, a hint of deeper feelings are heard in the melody. Maybe the protagonist knew this opponent before things turned out like this? Maybe the latter used to be someone different, and because of that, the former doesn’t want to fight them even though they must. At around 0:57, the seriousness of the situation kicks in again, and you remember what you’re up against. Your music gets me thinking a LOT.
