Creative Cake System Sugarcraft Butterflies with Ceri Griffiths

This mould contains three different butterfly wings plus a body. The intricately designed Butterfly Trio mould will make gorgeous sugarcraft embellishments for cakes. Innovatively designed, the mould allows you to double emboss butterfly wings on the reverse. The incredible detail in these wings also works beautifully as Fairy wings.
The ground breaking Creative Cake System has been co-created with leading international cake artist Ceri Griffiths, that for the first time allow cake decorators to use sugar paste or fondant to achieve a professional Royal Iced look to their cakes.
All Katy Sue moulds are made in the UK with FDA compliant food grade silicone. Our moulds can be used with sugar paste, flower paste, modelling paste, marzipan, chocolate, candy, boiled sugar, cold porcelain and salt dough.

Very clear and concise directions and all without annoying back ground music. Easy to listen to and easy to follow. I’ve watched many, many video tutorials done by some very talented artists but unfortunately, despite the artistic abilities of many, they are not good instructors. My biggest complaint is that the majority have background music included while they are talking. Your videos are excellent!

I loved your video!! So much information. I do have one question. How did you go over the butterfly that had gold designed on the wings. I realize that you traced the design of the wings with gold (on the hydrangea and hyacinth color), but I am curious how you put the gold on. (A tiny brush, perhaps)? And was it a powdered color (with or without alcohol/extract)?

judy fleming hi there, it’s been a while since I did this video but looking at the gold butterfly you mentioned I believe this was my process.....I dusted the butterfly with gold dust, I then did the shading with a deeper gold dust, I gave it a light spray with an edible glaze to set the dust and then painted the details with a fine paintbrush, I used a mixture of gold dust and lemon extract, sometimes I do use a mixture of confectioners glaze and alcohol to paint with so that the dust painted does not fall of the butterfly when it’s dried. We normally stick with air drying clay or sugar paste for our tutorials but there is no reason why you can't use polymer clay too
