I came off of active duty as an E6 after 8 years and signed 12 months with the guard. I respect how transparent you are to young future soldiers. It's definitely a good option so you don't have a lapse in health insurance.
Perfect person to ask this question. I’m also in active duty, if I use my TA n decide to join d guard, do I still have educational benefits from the guard. And do y’all also qualify for the post 9/11 GI Bill?
Just got back home from AIT at Fort Sill (13F Joint Fire Support Specialist) and serving in the Maryland Army National Guard on a 6 year contract. Been trying to serve all my life, lost 180 lbs to join, and finally joined at 30! Always loved the National Guard's dual mission of serving your state and community (which I love) as well as your country. For everyone thinking about joining up, go for it and do your best! #BOSS
Wow, 180lbs!!!???😳 I lose so many applicants that can’t even lose 5-30lbs to enlist lol. That’s a freakin amazing accomplishment! I’m super stoked for you and Congrats!!! 🇺🇸
I joined the guard and honestly, I just felt like giving the military a try, wasn't really into the benefits but they definitely are a strong persuasion to enlist.
So sergeant Swartz I took a lil plane ride down to fort Jackson and did the 10 week training and I gotta say best decision of my life so far right now I’m at fort lee and I’m training to be a 92 whiskey thanks for all your videos and support your one of the best ncos in the army 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸
I ended up joining the Air Force branch, California National Guard back in November. I went Air Force because I was more attracted to there culture and I also wanted a second career option in aircraft maintenance. I currently have a bachelors in psychology so I also went in to receive assistance to pay for my graduate school and the cool thing about California is that they can potentially cover all of your schooling if you attend a public school, but I first want to work full time at my base before attending graduate school. #boss
When I joined the Army Reserve it was an 8 year contract at the time. I served 5 years. Then I joined the "regular" army I did another five years. I'm now 100% US Army Airborne Combat veteran.
You’re videos are phenomenal, currently trying to lose just two percent body fat. I’ve been running, and doing push up for prep. Keep up the great work thank you

I joined the Georgia National Guard. I signed a six-year contract as 09S. I am pursuing this to help further my career and further my training in a field that can enhance my interests. I will be shipping to Basic training next week and attend State OCS (Hopefully) right after Basic is done.
#Team Swartz I'm going into the guard and this was helpful there is still many basic things I don't know but I'm getting there and your channel helps a lot
Thanks a million! Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼 Good Luck in MEPS and may the MEPS Gods forever, be in your favor! 💯
#Texas Army national guard MOS 25 B the reason I joined to serve my state of Texas as a good soldier give something back to this great country to protect our family and our senior citizens. I also serve as a contractor for the United States Army for many years as a linguist and culture advisor in the Middle East but this time I decided to enlist and give my skills back to my State. It’s an honor for me to serve the United States Army National Guard.

Hi @David thank you for your service. I am currently going through 25B road . Please, I need to ask you some questions. I am also in Texas. I would appreciate it if I could connect with you. Thank you in advance.
Im 34 and wanted to do active duty onto ranger batallion but now I work in ministry & do not want to leave the role. The national guard sparked interest & am content to join as 11B. My main career is Software engineer (computer programming), because ministry does not pay salary. Thank you for your videos, and this one solidified for me to do a 3 year contract. If I am led to, I will transition in 3 years to active duty infantry or Option 40 (ranger). Blessings to you sir
Amen and God Bless you too! Thank you for your kind words and I’m happy you’ve found a path to explore now and who knows where it’ll lead you. Good luck in everything that you do!
Thank you for your videos. They are very encouraging. I started the process of the direct commission for JAG back in March. I had to get a medical waiver and I'm now waiting on an age waiver. It's been 9 months since I started the process, but I am looking forward to serving in the NM Guard.
@@TEAMSWARTZ hi thanks for your service. About the IRR, what if there was a soldier who didn’t update 4 hours every year? Also, after MSO is complete with all requirements will that person be a veteran?
Sounds like the 6 year plan is the way to go for me I have to do college that’s not a choice really in my family it’s either that or move out or pay rent along with a full time job. I plan on looking into the Full time opportunities in the Guard so I can get ready to find my own spot because I desperately need my own space especially when you have such a big family haha :)
I hear ya! Lol. Excellent choice and reasons. Good Luck in MEPS and may the MEPS Gods forever, be in your favor! 💯 Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
@@TEAMSWARTZ Hello :) I have a question on the tattoo policy for the Army, so If were to get 2 small hand tattoos on my left hand (one on on my middle finger and one close to my thumb) would that be an automatic disqualification to enlist or something? Even if they were small and discreet and didn’t have an inappropriate meaning or anything? Thanks :)
@@nvlogs6207 Depends on in the Tattoo ETP gets approved. Hopefully it’ll workout for you. If not, you’ll be required to get them removed unfortunately.
Thanks for the insight. I am adding this as my part time job while pursuing full time at USPS. I am thinking of joining the infantry but I am sure there are other types of jobs I might like down the line.
I joined the Texas Army National Guard, my contract is 8 years 11B,I joined the Guard to go to college for Criminal justice, but after I finish college I want to go active duty Army #BOSS
32 yo Navy vet, joined the NG last month with CASP (68W) MOS qualified non duty status, 6yr contract, and 7k bonus. Still kind of sucks I have to go all the way through basic again though.😂 I'll ship out in April of next year.👍🏻

I plan on joining the Illinois National Guard within the next 6 months. Need to burn some body fat first but I already have a 4-year degree so I guess the 3 year contract is what I'll go with!

#BOSS I joined the National Guard with a 3 year contract. I’m not sure what I want to study in school yet, but I know I want to do OCS, and I go to BCT March 2021!
I’m shipping out in 30 days. I am excellent at pushups, and can do about 60 in a row. But I cannot even jog 5 mins without gasping for breath. Please help with the run. I need to be able to train my heart for what is coming. #BOSS NATIONAL GUARD.
Congratulations and running out of breath is completely normal lol. Just have to do it every other day because consistency is key. I y’all about running in my video and how to mix it up here: ua-cam.com/video/V5myEN7BOe4/v-deo.html Good luck and best wishes! You’ve got this!💪🏼🇺🇸
You’re very welcome and stay blessed. I suggest downloading the Nike App, RunKeeper App or essentially any free running app to track pace, distance, etc... try a slower pace and through time you’ll realize your pace is increasing and eventually decreasing your run time per mile. Best wishes!
@@Nana-hy6zt I'm currently training for better standards as well. As far as running goes as he said consistency is key. On top of that split up the training between slow long runs, shorter faster runs, sprints ( I'm currently doing 400m sprints ). 60 pushups/situps is great but if you ever desire to go the SF route 85+ would be better with 100 being the goal. 200-300 reps a day switching days would help from what I hear. Good luck with your aspirations!
Thanks for the video! I have about $27k in student loans. I already have a bachelor's and may want to go to Musicians Institute or somewhere else where I may incur more student debt (not to get a master's but either a certificate or another BA which I'm also told does not qualify for the education money since I already have a BA). I was told that it may be best to sign a 3-year contract so that after two years, the retention team makes me the offer to pay my student loans then when they'll be a bit higher (rather than now when they would pay only the $27k). I was also told that this was a better strategy to also get a VA home loan and other benefits that I would not get in the beginning if I start off with a 6-year contract. Is this accurate? What do you think? I'm in CA... I may have to extend my contract anyway because I'm thinking about starting off as a 42R and then dropping a packet to become a 153A pilot. I'm 34 right now, which is another reason why I'm starting off as an enlisted E4 (so that I have more time to switch to 153A). Thanks in advance!!!
I’m not sure how CA specifically does State TA and that’s best addressed to that respective Recruiter. Doesn’t matter if you sign a 3 or 6yr contract. You don’t get the VA Benefits until after 6 yrs part time is completed or 90 days of qualifying federal active duty status other than for completing your initial entry training. I’d still do a 3yr contract and then extend from there however you see fitting based on your goals and what not. Good Luck in MEPS and may the MEPS Gods forever, be in your favor! 💯
Are you able to negotiate your contract like with your enlistment bonus and when you receive it? Obviously I know that you wouldn't get it upfront but could you say work it out to get like 25% upfront 25% after basic and the last 50% after your half way through your contract?
Bonuses have requirements and whether or not it’s lump sum or broken up in payments is dependent on current policy at time of enlistment. Your local Recruiter will share with you the current eligible MOS’s that qualify for an MOS, your eligibility and availability. And what the current policy states as far as the payments and amounts. Thank you for watching and stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
I just signed a 3-year contract with Army National Guard as a 46S (Public Relations Mass Comms) ✌️ they didn’t offer me any extra bonus to sign for 6 years, and since I already have a B.A., I don’t need the GI Bill, so the MEPS Army office SGT said I should do 3 years and when I look to re-sign, ask for for a bonus to do so. My why: God has led me to explore this route - it’s to serve my country, community, and family. I want to be combat ready to defend my People and to honor my ancestor who fought in the Union Army, and my grandad who was Air Force. Also, benefits, training, and respect of an armed forces service member.
Thank you for joining and for sharing your thoughts. Good luck and best wishes in Training! 💪🏼 Make the best of it, have fun and do your best! Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼

Two questions: 1. College benefits count towards a Masters or Doctorate degree? I already have a BA. 2. Would it be possible to get a wavier for my herniated disc? I am able to live my life normally just as I was before the ruptured disc.

Just curious, I am way beyond age for service, but if a soldier gets deployed, can they get returned home if they are having a hard time adapting to their situation? I know most are only volunteering because of education benefits and can’t handle stress of a combat mission. I’ve been out of the Army since 1987, that is why I said it’s not for me

I plan on singing up for a 3 year contract and this was an awesome and informative video, I just have one question are there any MOS’s limited by the contract length? I know I’m counting my chickens before they hatch because I haven’t taken the ASVAB but 91 Echo has taken a huge interest of mine and if not that, any in the 91 field, are any of them not available because of the 3 year contract or is it just state availability and other variables?

Greetings from Puerto Rico! one question I signed and make the oath for the army national guard, but honestly I figured out and I'm convinced this is not for me, I did 1 drill and my ship date is in March, can I cancel? what can be the consequences? Thank you!
Unlike a civilian job you can’t quit or put in a 2 week notice to quit. You have to finish your contract but if you fail to ship to training, no jail or criminal proceedings. You’ll just eventually be discharged.
I'll dumb it down for ya. You will ALWAYS have an eight year contract. You can leave when your "written contract" is done, but they can recall you for up to 8 years from joining (that's in the fine print). That goes for all service, Active, National Guard, Reserves. In the past 40 years, they only used that "recall" once; Desert Storm. But hey, if you're doing it for your country, who cares? If you do it for benefits; you ain't really a soldier anyway.
So I can go to school for free, get paid around 700$ for going to school if i get the kicker, and x ammount for monthly drill, plus the great benefits... ? Am I hearing this right? For 1 weekend a month 2 weeks a year, plus deployments? Do I get gi bill if I get deployed?
If otherwise eligible for the benefits and/or incentives, Yes it is possible and we're all eligible to be deployed. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
I’m in sc army national guard and our state benefit is trash 🗑, NC national guard does full in state tuition waived 100% just like your state in NY, and you can pocket the federal TA

I’m interested in joining the national guard. However, I have read that night blindness does disqualify you from the military. What if my night blindness is corrected with the use of glasses. That’s because the night blindness underlying cause for me is near sightedness
I have yet to run into someone being denied for night blindness. I’m near sighted as well and got in just fine. Bring your glasses to MEPS when you process and you should be fine unless they MEPS detects or suspects high refraction or astigmatism in either eye. Which would prompt a temporary disqualification and would require a MEPS Consultation with a 3rd party contracted eye specialist for further testing and determination. 🙏🏼🇺🇸
I plan on joining the Florida national guard in 2024 after I graduate high school and I plan to go to college so if I take the 3 year contract and I extend one more year to complete college will that be allowed?
They are lying unless it’s due to the MOS being over 6mo of AIT Training. Then that wouldn’t require a 6yr contract. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
Excellent job and congrats!!! It’s the line scores that matter for jobs and opportunities! GOOD Luck in MEPS and may the MEPS Gods forever, be in your favor! 💯 Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
I was interested in my States Guard program not the National Guard but California State Guard idk the difference is but it’s not a contract more or less civilian military
Thanks for asking your question and watching. You’ll have to do a minimum of 6yrs part time in a reserve component like the Guard or Reserves to qualify of do more than 6mo on federal active duty other than your initial entry training. 🙏🏼🇺🇸
FYI, you’re sorely misinformed. A masters degree does count as civilian education if it’s earned by a recognized accredited institution. FYSA, Guard, Reserve and Regular Army all fall under the same rules, regulations and policies for education and everything else. 🫡
Hey I’m new to this channels and I’d already subscribed to you(Amzing videos btw), I have an 8yrs contract as a reserve for the national guard and planning on doing college at the same time. The first contract have 6yrs and the other has 2yrs. I’m planning on completing the 6yrs contract by finishing college and getting a degree( since those 6yrs pay tuitions and have other benefit) and the last two years for my second contract I planned on doing active and changing MOS once I have my IT degree……. And well…… this is pretty much what I have right now for my goals but I need to if this possible so can I start grinding for it. Thx for ur time and for all those viewers watching these videos good luck out there

Im shipping out next month to fort leonard wood im in the national guard I have a 3 years contract I think I will extend my contract to 6 when I come back since I wanna go to college
Team Swartz, do recruiters only receive credit for recruiting someone into their particular unit, or just generally for recruiting someone to their state's National Guard? Or is it even by state? As in, would they still get credit if I enlisted in a neighboring state? I have started the enlistment process with a recruiter for OCS, but the unit he has been discussing is a 4 hour drive from me. I'm hoping there is closer unit, and he just might not be disclosing that because he won't get credit for recruiting me to a closer unit. I would really appreciate if you could answer this, I'm trying to figure this all out!
I’m not sure which state you’re referencing but we get credit for any enlistment within our State. We can assign you to any MOS to any unit as long as there is a vacancy or can get an approval for excess for 09S enlistments. In the event you fail out of OCS, that’ll be the MOS you’ll fall back into in that event. However, you can ask your recruiter if that’s in fact the closest unit. You can explore a neighboring state that may have a closer unit but as long as you’re not trying to use the State TA, enlisting into a neighboring state won’t matter. It only matters for State TA because we only pay for colleges through our State TA within our State. Hope that helps and makes sense. Anything else... please let me know. Thanks for watching and stay blessed! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
@@TEAMSWARTZ Thanks for the reply! You answered my question. I live in the northeastern most corner of Illinois, and the unit assigned to me drills in Springfield, 4 hours away. This is also the headquarters for the National Guard in Illinois. The headquarters for the Wisconsin National Guard is in Madison, which is only 2 hours away. One follow up question: If I were to join a unit in Wisconsin, could I get state TA for Wisconsin schools while still being a resident of Illinois? Or do I have to be a resident of Wisconsin as well to get TA? I have a feeling I might not get a straight answer from my recruiter because he as an incentive to enlist me in Illinois, not Wisconsin. Over a six year contract, this would save me hundreds of hours in drive time, as well as hundreds of dollars in gas and vehicle maintenance.
@@flippintrippin363 That’s state specific. Here in New York you must be a New York Resident to utilize the NYARNG’s State Tuition Assistance Program... I’d ask the Wisconsin Recruiter but don’t tell him you’re debating at joining the Illinois upfront for you want to get the most genuine response. Hope that helps and best wishes!
#boss joined the Indiana national guard as 11-b. I joined because I was in the Indiana State trooper process. A state trooper recommended that I join if I didn't get selected and to reapply for state trooper after I get out of basic for the army. Plus college and tricare is a added bonus.
David Miller #Goals Excellent choice! It will compliment being State PD and of you don’t get picked up by State PD, this will help. You should still join either way do double dip and work towards two separate retirement streams. 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Unless you’re getting an incentive like a bonus or something, just do the minimum contract. If eligible for a reenlistment bonuses, you’ll get it a few years faster lol versus doing a longer contract with same benefits as the shorter one...
I’ll have to reachout to my AD Recruiter and get the details. We don’t have a 2yr contract in the Guard so I’m not confident to give concrete info on it. I do remember asking an AD Recruiter years ago and I recall him saying the 2yr contract doesn’t begin until you’re complete with AIT and MOS Qualified. So between your waiting period to ship and training period, you’re essentially still doing approximately 3yrs... Thank you so very much for watching this video and i hope stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
If I do the 3 year contract as 11B, will I have a chance to attend Ranger school? I've heard that they only allow it for 6 years, is it true? I'm a full time nurse and my contract will end sooner that's why 3 years so after my work and NG contract ends, I can switch to active duty and try out for RASP w/o doing the school 🥲. #BOSS
Not sure if a 3 or 6 year contracts are required. For us in the NYARNG, we don’t have any ranger or airborne units. So those would be simply Specialty schools and offered at the combat unit level. However, it would be a greater chance to be offered to you when going Active Duty. Or while attending your BCT/OSUT, they sometimes offer it at the training sites. More specifically if you get offered airborne. Ranger/RASP heavily do their recruiting at the Airborne School. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼 Good luck!!!
So as a person graduating college in may, I should just take the 3 year contract? I ask because my student loans are not that much in the slightest like 4000 give or take.
If just do 3yrs. If scoring over a 50% on the ASVAB and able to get a bonus, use the bonus instead and pay off your student loans all at once. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
Contracts are explained in the video you just asked this question under and BCT is: OVERVIEW OF BASIC TRAINING 2021 - COVID-19 Edition: ua-cam.com/video/qXGMewKWlyw/v-deo.html
Lets say I finish my college degree and commission as an officer after OCS and BOLC, do I have the option to transfer to active army before my 6 year contract is over without compromising my Montogomery Bill Kicker? In other words, would I have to repay or reimburse the army for those 2 years I went active?
Your Kicker would just be suspended and yes, once BOLC qualified you can go AD and retain your rank (if you did State OCS) If you do Federal OCS or ROTC, you’ll retain your rank as well. Hope this helps! Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
Have around 60k in federal student loans from all SUNY schools. All stafford/graduate loans through the gov't - my question is since they're suny, are these eligible for the 100% assistance, or are they going to pull some stuff saying it is only eligible for the undergraduate loans and leave me hanging for the rest?
Any federal student loans in good standing, not in default up to $50k for an eligible 8yr contract. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
All I know is, when I got to BCT and then AIT, plus HBL that I’m at now, the National Guard has twice as much paperwork you end up dealing with. #BOSS, Minnesota Army National Guard, I joined to help end any further riots that could happen in my home state.

Your unit will be in New York and you’ll train part time near your hometown. We serve both Federal and State Missions. So although you’ll primarily stay local you are a Soldier first and your MOS (job) second. With that said you could be called upon to serve overseas. ua-cam.com/video/tiMVDM6FzRY/v-deo.html
You don’t have to. Speak with your Recruiter and your RSP NCO. You can be excused from drill to attend this. If they say you cannot, then simple don’t show up for the drill date that conflicts with Prom. You’ll get yelled at, maybe written up but nothing more than that. Have fun and enjoy!
Will he always need a recruiter? While in basic training any advice..will they try to have him change his location or pressure him into some other trainning..
He’s already locked into a unit and job. No they won’t pressure him into additional training outside of his OSUT Training. His unit or a Battalion Career Counselor will extend his current contract when the time comes and won’t require a Recruiter unless he separates from the service. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
This is probably a dumb question, but I was wondering what are my chances of deploying, can I volunteer for deployments? Thank you so much and great video.
Deployments are always an opportunity you may or may not get organically but you can certainly volunteering you so choose through the Guards Tour of Duty website listing nationwide deployments seeking specific MOS’s at various ranks for various missions or opportunities around the globe.
hello sfc swartz, i'm currently working a recruiter in my state. i need a conduct waiver which we just finished every to send it to the recruiters commander before the TAG. my recruiter made a memo of endorsement, and picked an mos that wasn't in my ideal area(88m) and to a transportation company that is near my house. in the event the ngb hrr approves my waiver, am i obligated to choose that mos?
Last I checked, regardless if the memo is for one MOS, it’s good for all MOS’s unless it’s approved and stated otherwise. Good luck on your waiver and may the waiver gods forever be in your favor! Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼

I did my 8 years in the Marines (5 active, 3 inactive), already have all my va benefits, joined the guard because im finishing college (literally a month left at the time if this reply) and still want to make a career out if it. Didn’t need to go to Boot Camp. Trying to go officer but my gt score wasnt high enough. Was told I can take an in service asvab later. Signed a 3 year because I completed my contractual obligation already so this is basically a reenlistment. If I can’t make officer I’ll stay enlisted and go from there.
I know this video was made a couple years ago, but I know I want to join the military. Where I’m really struggling is doing full time active duty vs joining the National Guard. If I were to sign a 6 year contract and I decide to enlist full time a year in, would I serve 5 years in active duty or is there a shorter time span I would be given?
Yo what up “G!” Haha, I’ve always wanted to say that… So, that’s a great question I can verify with my active duty Recruiter friend. @@TEAMSWARTZ My phone is not working now. I don't know what's wrong with it. So I might not be there at all. I use my Sister's laptop when I am at home and my cell phone when I am not at home. I have had like 6 different cell phones🥰
I'm already going into the national guard with the split option. I know the minimum is pretty much going to the drills each month. Can I do more than that? I wanted to go active duty because it's full time but I'm curious if I can do more than the minimums for the national guard.
One year in I plan to finish out my 3 year contract.im a N88 I love the fact I could serve and work my civilian job. I'm 39 enlisted at 38. I have 3 kids and I'm a PFC hopefully make Specialist before I'm don't in 2024.
Can one live in a different state or even move abroad during IRR? I'm 30 y/o, thinking about joining IL ARNG to get some of that military experience and pay for finishing up my Bachelors. I'll have 1.5 to 2 years of school left as of winter this year, so I'm thinking about joining up and doing the ~8 months of BMT+AIT starting January, and that'll mean I'll have several months still in Guard after graduation, possibly enough time for a deployment.
My son enlisted in Jan. And graduated college with a bachelor's degree. He went to basic a week later as a E3. Can he get backpay ? Or will he remain E3 because he signed before graduation? He signed 8 years reserve in new york national guard Reserve..mos is infantry solider..
Unless he submits an Official Copy of his College Transcript displaying he’s earned the degree prior to shipping off to BCT, he won’t be advanced to e4. Needs to get done prior to shipping. Congrats to your son.
Does anyone knows if he talked about Holiday Exodus and how does pay for Reserve/National Guard works?? If so can you direct me to the video... thank you
#boss national guard in Michigan. The reason why I joined is to follow in my brother's footsteps he enlisted back in 2012. I also didn't know what I wanted to do after high school. I also wanted to be the first female in my family to join and hoping that I have cousins that follow

Perfect person to ask this question. I’m also in active duty, if I use my TA n decide to join d guard, do I still have educational benefits from the guard. And do y’all also qualify for the post 9/11 GI Bill?
So did you do a try one? I just got offered it but haven’t got any real info about it
Just got back home from AIT at Fort Sill (13F Joint Fire Support Specialist) and serving in the Maryland Army National Guard on a 6 year contract. Been trying to serve all my life, lost 180 lbs to join, and finally joined at 30! Always loved the National Guard's dual mission of serving your state and community (which I love) as well as your country. For everyone thinking about joining up, go for it and do your best! #BOSS

#boss

Team Swartz i did a 4.5 mile run today in about 55mins. Felt great
@@Nana-hy6zt I'm currently training for better standards as well.
My why:
God has led me to explore this route - it’s to serve my country, community, and family.

I know I’m counting my chickens before they hatch because I haven’t taken the ASVAB but 91 Echo has taken a huge interest of mine and if not that, any in the 91 field, are any of them not available because of the 3 year contract or is it just state availability and other variables?

Unlike a civilian job you can’t quit or put in a 2 week notice to quit. You have to finish your contract but if you fail to ship to training, no jail or criminal proceedings. You’ll just eventually be discharged.
You should do a video about going from active duty to guard
Thomas Teevan Good idea! Thanks for the idea! Thank you for watching and stay blessed! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
If you do it for benefits; you ain't really a soldier anyway.
lol Pretty much sums up my video… Thank you for watching and stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
So I can go to school for free, get paid around 700$ for going to school if i get the kicker, and x ammount for monthly drill, plus the great benefits... ? Am I hearing this right? For 1 weekend a month 2 weeks a year, plus deployments? Do I get gi bill if I get deployed?

It’s like volunteer or auxiliary like work. Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
Do we still get VA home loans for 3yr. contact? with or without deployment?
Thanks for asking your question and watching. You’ll have to do a minimum of 6yrs part time in a reserve component like the Guard or Reserves to qualify of do more than 6mo on federal active duty other than your initial entry training. 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Masters Degree do not count for Guard...FYI
Thx for ur time and for all those viewers watching these videos good luck out there
My pleasure and Stay Blessed! That sounds like a solid plan and I’m excited for you! Welcome to my channel and congrats on your decision!🙏🏼 Good luck and best wishes in Training! 💪🏼 Make the best of it, have fun and do your best!
Im shipping out next month to fort leonard wood im in the national guard I have a 3 years contract I think I will extend my contract to 6 when I come back since I wanna go to college
Excellent plan! Thank you so very much for watching this video and i hope stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼
Are you doing CBRN work?
Oh I'll be double dipping 20 years in both for state and federal pension. I'll be retiring making bank.
David Miller 100% lol 🇺🇸
What if you've already graduated from college and you're not interested in more schooling, but you want to do a longer contract?
Unless you’re getting an incentive like a bonus or something, just do the minimum contract. If eligible for a reenlistment bonuses, you’ll get it a few years faster lol versus doing a longer contract with same benefits as the shorter one...
#boss Doing a 6 yr contract and I ship in October for the SC ANG. Got a kicker and 20k bonus, MOS is 19K!
Hooah Freakin Lujah!!! Congrats and Good luck and best wishes in Training! 💪🏼 Make the best of it, have fun and do your best!
Just curious how long until you received your bonus? And was it in increments or bulk amount
@@motivationiskey4993 10k upon graduation of OSUT, 2k per year after.
@@motivationiskey4993 The Bonus Addendum (document) the day you sign your contract lists those details and the do’s and dont’s…
I wish you could discuss the 2 year contract active duty. Pros and Cons
Sir, I have a question. Whats the minimum and maximus contract in National Guard?? And NG has a boot camp training too??

If I want to join the New York National Guard , can I stay in New York or will I get deployed whereever
My prom falls on one of my rsp weekends. This is my first prom date. I don’t want to give it up
You don’t have to. Speak with your Recruiter and your RSP NCO. You can be excused from drill to attend this. If they say you cannot, then simple don’t show up for the drill date that conflicts with Prom. You’ll get yelled at, maybe written up but nothing more than that. Have fun and enjoy!
I will leave August 24 for basic training. Which pt test I’ll be needed to pass to graduate? Old one or new one?
ua-cam.com/video/WI1IJzcL09E/v-deo.html This is the new ACFT Test and will need to pass each event with 60% or better! You got this! 💪🏼🇺🇸
@@TEAMSWARTZ thank you so much that was kinda my determining factor if I would go active or guard
@@TEAMSWARTZ another question can you volunteer for a deployment active duty?
Let me ask my AD Friends…
Yes, you can volunteer for deployments where they have shortages just like the Guard.

hello sfc swartz, i'm currently working a recruiter in my state. i need a conduct waiver which we just finished every to send it to the recruiters commander before the TAG. my recruiter made a memo of endorsement, and picked an mos that wasn't in my ideal area(88m) and to a transportation company that is near my house. in the event the ngb hrr approves my waiver, am i obligated to choose that mos?
Last I checked, regardless if the memo is for one MOS, it’s good for all MOS’s unless it’s approved and stated otherwise. Good luck on your waiver and may the waiver gods forever be in your favor! Thank you so very much for watching this video and I hope you stay blessed! 🇺🇸🙏🏼

I don’t want to join the National Guard to be honest but I go to MEPS for it tomorrow and idk how to tell my recruiter I’m no longer interested and that I’d rather join the active Army
Don’t join… it’s that simple.

Until I get a response I have a couple of videos to checkout that may be useful in your decision making process. Both AD or Guard are excellent options for depending on your needs, etc…

I'll have 1.5 to 2 years of school left as of winter this year, so I'm thinking about joining up and doing the ~8 months of BMT+AIT starting January, and that'll mean I'll have several months still in Guard after graduation, possibly enough time for a deployment.
