@gavin A son of perdition would not repent. So keep that in mind. The reason the unforgivable sin is unforgivable is because someone knows the Lord is the holy sacrifice but still lets their pride overpower their desire to repent, ask for forgiveness, and put faith in Jesus.

It's amazing that a sermon spoken in 1991 is still relevant today. That's the amazing thing about the word of God it remains the same yesterday, today and forever. I loved the analogy of the son's interaction with the father who was injured and probably lost his legs in an effort to save his son. I should imagine we would be so grateful for the sacrifice, so how much more is our gratitude towards God for his Son's sacrifice for us. :)

When I was a child I seen shadow people and then after I grew up and started doing meth I seen the same shadow people. Demons are real and they blind the minds of the unbelievers to stop them from seeing the truth of the Gospel. We will all stand before God one day and those who reject Christ will experience the wrath of God. You will be thrown into the fires of hell and tormented forever for sinning against a holy God, but Christ went to the cross and paid your debt so you didn't have to suffer God's wrath because God doesn't want anyone to perish. Repent and believe the gospel.

I shared the gospel directly for the first time today!! Please pray for me and the person I witnessed to today. Thank you for the inspiration. God has used you all to bring me so much closer to Him. I never in my whole life thought I would be able to share the gospel with someone. I was so scared when I started talking to this friend about her being a guilty sinner, that my knees started shaking and I got a little light headed. But God gave me strength and reminded me that He was with me. My friend was super kind and loving. She answered all my questions and thanked me for sharing this with her.

I'm trying not to beat myself up when I sin - this is actually one of the things that turns Christians into nonbelievers unfortunately. It's like if you step on someone's foot, of course they'll forgive you, in the same way, God forgives you. so I'll try to forgive myself 😍🥰
This is a beautiful message but some desires are overwhelming. You can surrender one day and be swept away by temptation the next day. It's a losing fight. Sure sin is not worth it, but it has a hold on me.

Yo, this is where I get my wisdom from
I was a slave of sin also. The slavery of pornography for many years. I didn't know what to do or who to talk to. Porn is a type of wickedness that came through digital revolution. So, most people don't know how to handle it. However, I looked into the Word after two godly preachers "Zac Poonen" and "Michael Chriswell" on UA-cam made me realize that I was "living in sin" as opposed to "living in Christ". Both of them focus heavily on the "Fruits of the Holy Spirit".
After knowing the following, and acting on it just like Jesus said to obey him, God pulled me, the one who was enslaved to porn for years, out of porn in a few days.
The carnal nature has to change to the divine nature, the nature of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible.
It is because you are in carnal nature that even if you sincerely confess to God for watching lewd humans , you immediately go back into sexual desire. Then, you keep repeating the pattern until you fear if it is possible for you to repent again.
So, the most important thing here is to get to the divine nature of Jesus Christ from your carnal (Earthly, fleshy, beastly) nature.
Step 1: Deny yourself (If anyone wants to follow me, let him carry his cross daily and deny himself )
Step 2: Believe that God will establish you in Holiness when you deny yourself (That is the essence of 1 Peter 5: 9,10)
You will suffer when you do God's will over your will. Go through this suffering, and after a while of suffering, God will establish you in Holiness. That is, you will have God's grace on you in this aspect of your life.
It's like this. You don't want to climb a staircase. God says "Climb the staircase".
Since your will is NOT to climb the staircase and God's will is for you to CLIMB the staircase, there is a conflict. Hence, when you obey someone else's wish against your own wish, you will suffer.
Humbly go through this suffering. When you go through this suffering, you are climbing the stairs of the staircase.
After a while of climbing (suffering), you will reach the top of the staircase. That is, you are free from climbing (suffering). At the top, Jesus has set you free from this sin as he promises (If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed).
He promises freedom from all sins in him, not only sexual immorality.
Once you are at the top of the staircase, your nature has now changed from carnal nature that wanted to be at the foot of the staircase to divine nature at the top of the staircase, now, you have Jesus' nature in overcoming sexual sins.
However, Satan will always tempt you to go down the stairs to get back to the foot of the staircase. That is, on your way back to carnal nature.
However, you will find it easier to resist Satan at the top of the staircase.
When Satan tempts you to go down the steps again, (As the Word says, just "Resist the devil and he shall flee")
In short, this freedom from sexual immorality happened to me in a few days once I understood and OBEYED these principles of God in the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, the only thing is, don't even go looking back for porn or sexually immoral UA-camrs or pictures . If you do so, you will start descending the stairs, and at the end of it, you will be back at the foot of the staircase.
Then, the power you experienced at the top of the staircase will be gone because now you are once again back at the foot of the staircase where sin's power reigns.
I don't say you can't climb back by obeying Jesus again. I am not willing to take that risk.
Thank God when he allows you to climb the stairs and when you reach the top also, don't say or think you made it on your own accord because that would be a lie in accordance with "1 Peter 5: 9,10)
God hates liars and hence you will be back at the foot of the staircase again before you know it.
Be willing to suffer. God will take you to the top when you obey Jesus.
Deny your will and obey the Father's will and believe the resurrected Jesus Christ will establish you in Holiness while you obey the Father's will against your will.
That is it.

@@KINGBELIAL13 - I have no fear either. Why? I am in the power of the resurrection spoken of in Philippians 2 that very few have it. Therefore, any temptation to lust, I renew my mind, then and there. If at all I fall into sin, I have an advocate with the Father.
Why? Falling in sin, living in sin and living in Christ are all different.
Lusting is confined by God's Word within the marriage between a man and a woman.
Lusting (Sexually desiring) after anyone not someone's spouse is defying God's Word.
You can certainly look at people. Lusting after them is something else.
"Man shall not live by food alone but by every word from the mouth of God."
The man who lives to please the flesh cannot understand spiritual matters.
Man who lives to please the flesh is under the power of sin. Man who lives to please the Spirit of God will have the power of the resurrection after a while of suffering in the flesh because God will establish that person.
A child's nature is to get as much candy as possible that it sees in a shop.
It is natural. When the child grows up, that nature changes.
Similarly, those who are in the power of the resurrection, it is natural for them to please God by obeying Jesus Christ.
No fear, no struggle. No, nothing.
In your case, you are just like the child, only under the power of sin.
The distance between "power of sin" and "power of resurrection" is suffering when one does God's will over one's own will.
At the end of that suffering after a while, there is a change in nature.
Therefore, now, it is only natural for me to obey Christ. Because, I am born again.

@@KINGBELIAL13 - People are afraid because they are guilty of their sins. They are guilty of it because they are living in it.
When they live in Christ, Jesus takes their guilt away.
