So funny how Lincoln takes time to answer all you questions so patiently. Not to many men would do this.
That’s so sad:( I wish women wouldn’t reward so many men with marriage and s@x then! All men should be like Lincoln about such normal questions about work and life from their partner. Life without a shitty man is so much better than life with one!
He is on camera 😅
You and I both agree. What a patient man he is. He exudes a very soothing aura.💫
It looked to me, that he's taller than 5'9" I thought he was more than 6' & when Amanda told him to stand there n look handsome, I thought that's not hard for him to do! They do make such a cute couple! I doubt that they Act differently because of being on camera.❤
Agreed-very easy going. Great conversations!
Amanda .."Should I walk over there?" Lincoln without hesitation.."Sure"
Me....I'm dying over here..😂😂
Word has gotten out to the kitty community at large that the posh chateau life has availability.😹
You mean the "cat distribution center" is putting out secret messages?
The zinc bathtub after being reshaped and the decorative elements repaired deserves a new platform somewhere. If you have plans for a garden room or orangery with stone floor, it would be beautiful as a water feature. But the pair of you have great vision, so I am sure you will find the right spot! What a great find!!
You might be able to use it for hydroponics if that interests you.
Thats a great idea! I was thinking garden use too!
No! You've just let in all the ghosts from the barn! 😂
😂👻
I'm addicted to your show! My sister introduced me and I am binge-watching past episodes. I love your humor and Lincoln's skills (I loved him walking to the woods with the baguette!!) I love your cats. My two sleep during the day and leave us to wander before their curfews at night. You may not need this BUT for catching your donkeys, I ride horses and what we do is walk to them with a treat and the lead rope over our shoulder. Once they are munching we drape the rope over their neck. Then you grasp it at their neck and you have them and can slide on the halter. Your second donkey may be tricky because they may catch on. ;) *remember, I'm binge-watching so many comments here are unrelated to this episode. 😊
I was dying when you asked if you should walk over there and Lincoln said, sure! I was saying, noooo don’t do it! That zinc bathtub is an amazing find. People were definitely a lot smaller 200 years ago. Your buildings have a million possibilities. They are beautiful and I love that you will reuse the paneling where you can. xx
Amazing the rabbit warren of old doors and wood materials you have to work with on your renovations. Loving your journey. If nothing else the bathtub would make a lovely planter for the outside of the cottage. Grow some herbs in it.Onward to spring in that garden.
That bathtub looks older than the chateau 😂 it cracks me up every time Amanda asks if things are coffins 😂 I’d be the same
You are living the dream. I am pretty sure there is a message board for cats only that has a map to your house. ; ]
Amanda you are hilarious. 😂💟
“not permanently” and more 😂😂😂 I repeat myself, but I love your humour … and I admire your amazing tenacity and perseverance …
My cat's most favorite thing is watching you and your animals on the show. But the thing that drives her wild is when you have Lincoln in the time lapse video moving around rapidly, taking down walls, ceilings, etc. She sits right on the cabinet where the TV is and touches the screen. Your biggest fan!! 😹
It’s funny, but I see that rapid video as how Lincoln actually moves 😅😅😅
That cat is really trying to figure out how to get to the kitty château in France !
Using old paneled doors is a good way to create paneling in a historic or period property. My aunt & uncle did this with an antebellum home they restored in Louisiana.
Thanks for saving the cats! Love the cat cam!
You’re cats are living the château life. 😘😘. You might open a cat hotel with those hutches 😂😂 ❤️❤️
Lincoln has gone into the construction business. Help workers needed!! I like that old bath tub too! Love all the pets and strays! A lovely big garden makes you wish you had a dozen hands!
My childhood bedroom was up in the attic and there was no wall between the stairs and the bedroom. It made my bedroom lovely and airy and also made the room feel much bigger
I love all the wood paneling in the attic barn.. opening to it to make a second bedroom is such a clever idea and keep the bathroom between the two bedroom. It s so funny to think that first you just wanted to create a quick and easy kitchen ...and now you are on track for a whole renovation project of the cottage....future gîte ? You should keep and reuse the old doors lincoln removed...there a so charming and free. Keep the budjet low
I agree- that paneling seems awfully nice for a "barn"
There is a reason people with Chateau's had staff! You guys are working so hard. I hope the flow keeps you going easily. Looks great!
I don't know if it's Lincoln with his baguette, the animals, your music choices or the beautiful French countryside but the alley cat I just rescued here in Greece is OBSESSED with your channel. She just watches and purrs, so bizarre and wonderful!
Do you watch the man in Greece with all of the rescue dogs? Can't remember the name of the channel...
No! Will research!
I was afraid Lincoln would fall through the floor-I feel better as well. 😅
Pickle and Pancake, so fun to watch a playdate! And OMG on the panelings in the cottage.. it must have been so regal and gorgeous back in its day! And I'm sure you both will return it to its glory!!!
Thank you for the animal inventory, lol. Our cat loved it! He went from snooze to enthused. We also enjoyed it as with all you two do. But to do with the bath??😂
I would 100% clean that tub up a little and make it into a giant planter if it cannot be reused as a tub. Gorgeous!
You certainly have the projects to keep you busy 😂 I know I keep saying this but I love your outbuildings. Beautiful with so much character. Do get some rest and stay warm❤️❤️
Covering the hole, I agree with 110 percent, no more injuries, please. P S you all are cat magnets🙀
I love that Mimi's little catteau has a new occupant!!!!
I love your humor .....both of you are so good togeathet...lovecwatching your vlog...
We were so glad you pictured each of the animals with their names.
😃
The zinc bathtub would make a great raised flower/veg garden next to the house. The wood work (wall panels & fireplace mantel) from above may be worth saving for downstairs??
My first thought too, Flowers🌹🌸💐🌺🌷🌻🤗🤗
She said she wanted an herb garden closer to the house. I don't know if it would be big enough but it would be perfect for my collection of herbs.
Your cottage and attached barn are wonderful. Can’t wait to see what you will do with them.
Today’s episode was very interesting. All the possibilities with the space in that outbuilding. Lincoln is a trooper! Keep up the great work! ❤😊
I vote to add the attic to the cottage upstairs.
Lovely that you’re planning to charmingly reconstruct the old wall ;;;;;
I’m really excited to see how this project, with all its quirkiness, pans out.
The chateau is lovely, of course. But I'm totally enamored of the cottage and barn. I think if this had been my project I might have started by fixing the cottage up and then living in it while redoing the chateau.
The chateau was totally livable, aside from cosmetics...
You both have so much to keep you busy. You will never be bored. I would feel overwhelmed also. Stay safe, and I look forward to your progress. Word is out. The Cateau has vacancies!❤
You can put a spiral staircase to access the attic.
You can add a roof window.
In the old days the cattle would stay on the ground floor and the people would live on the top floor.
when everything starts to look like a coffin....😂
Living the dream. I lost count of the number of cats.
Guava always seems to look for any excuse to dig a hole.
She does :)
Love that old bath tub ...the beams and rafters are fabulous..it amazes me how Enzo runs has fast has the other dog with one leg missing ❤
Yup....a good call to cover that hole in the floor to keep Lincoln safe! The other outbuilding that you went into is really nice with all of the wood paneling on the walls, the fireplace and all of the beam detailing.....so much potential!! You just need to put in a nice staircase to access it. Future job!! LOL!! Wow....taking boarding off of the entrance in the attic would make a fabulous closet....bathroom...bedroom.....great space for the cottage use. All very exciting! You certainly did purchase an amazing property when you got the chateau!!
Your second cottage might be the most elegant storage room I have ever seen. I am glad your catdominium has a new resident. Your kitchen reno is turning into the "spider who swallowed the fly". First a room, then a cottage, then a cottage and barn attic....it makes me laugh because this is the kind of thing that happens to me all the time.
I love, that you took that puzzlewall down in pieces, so it can be saved! To me that looks like a little treasure, when you are renovating and restoring. That vue, over the buildings around the walled garden... It is a beautiful space, and it would be lovely to stay in a gite, that overlooked the walled garden 😊
It’s always dangerous when you decide “while we’re at it” but I think a second bedroom in the cottage would be great!
Amanda-I think I’d be quite overwhelmed too with all you both have to do. I love the fact you’re reusing older wood pieces plus the attics or old rooms hold so many neat treasures from years back. Had no idea the amount of cottage buildings you have on your property-just amazing with great opportunities in creating new spaces. My hats off to you both.. love France. 👍
Those are some beautiful old doors. Lincoln, you are so humble. Love your suggestions.👏❤️🇺🇸 I wonder how old the fireplace is, upstairs where the trap door is?
My entire life I’ve had dreams of finding hidden rooms in my house. And you guys finding these - secret rooms - elation!!!
I love to see how much you do appreciate those little details like the railing above that pink partition wall. Dust, spider cobs and chipped paint - but you still see the beauty in it. Most people would just have ripped everything out. Not you. A reason why I love you channel. But a cranky Lincoln? Hard to imagine!!!
Amanda and Lincoln, love your conservation of the old doors and mouldings, so pleased you don’t slash and burn. Keep safe.
Pán Lincoln je nesmírně pracovitý člověk, je dech beroucí kolik práce uděláte. Přeji vám oběma pevné zdraví a moc se těším na další video.
The unpainted paneling in the second cottage looks like it was once very grand. I wonder if it was once in the chateau and was cut down to use in the cottage when interior fashions changed. Great idea to add a second bedroom over the barn. Lincoln "looked handsome" right on cue! I really enjoy your sense of humor.
Lincoln has a good disposition Mr DeMille.😂 I think the thing that I like about you guys is the fact you want to make the château your permanent home.❤❤❤❤❤ So many people want to flip these homes and move on😢
Two cottages ‼️ and the second has much nicer paneling than the ugly old doors
You will very likley have lead based paint on the woodwork. You may find that an IR paint stripper would be handy and then you wont need to use any chemicals to remove the old paint.
My wife and I used an electric coil paint stripper to do the entire outside of our 1930's Seattle home that would not take any more coats of paint. after priming w/ oil base primer it still looks great now since done in 1987...
Thanks for the video journey...
Best,
Brian
Best music and editing of all the chateau UA-camrs.
It will not let me post. I just wanted to say that I really love your videos and that you both have come very far in renovating the Château and the surrounding houses. Thank you for sharing. Love and Blessings to you all.
❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏 Doris, Penrith 🇦🇺🦘
Great to hear what Lincoln has to say after all these years 😁
Remove that floor to expose the lovely post and beam. Could be magnifique!
I love all of your animals, they are so cute! You are such good people to rescue, and rescue so many.
Your out buildings and cottages are so rustic and charming. The old bathtub is a great find. You're brave to walk out across that floor. The wall garden is so awesome. Your love of animals is very admirable.
Love how you guys started your kitchen renovations, only to end up with the massive undertaking of completing the bedrooms of the cottage!
I’m exhausted just watching you!
The attic was creepy, yes, but also pretty elegant with the fireplace and wall paneling. So neat finding all of the historical artifacts. ❤😊❤
That doorway would take me out at my forehead. 😂 I duck always out of self preservation. That attic space is super cool. So many ideas to rework it.
You are most definitely on the feral cat underground. Thanks for the video.
I’m really looking forward to seeing the cottage and garden progress this year. I also wonder if that zinc bath could be restored
@5:14 ~ Why are we standing here again? I don't know. I don't know either. You stand there and look handsome.
And handsome he is, with calming energy.✨💫
😂😂😂😂 About wondering why you are standing there.
So many possibilities !
Love your vlog. Your home is looking good! It's just the right size. I love the walled garden. Keep the vlogs coming!
Patience and fortitude is what you both must have to be able to calmly work, plan, and get things done. Lincoln was cranky? He seems to be the most calm and sweet man. He deserves to be cranky at times. As far as your stray cat population is concerned, I have to wonder if your neighbors know that you have a kind heart and will take care of their cast off and sometimes sick kitties. You have a UA-cam channel, so it’s no big secret where to bring their strays or personal cats. I think that you’re going to have to remodel one of the cottages and turn it into a cat hostel. LOL!
Two favorites in one! Garden & animals!! Yee
I absolutely love the cottage, the wood the doors all so gorgeous. I hope you can keep most of it in your rebuild. And yes Lincoln makes me a bit nervous on the ladders. He need too use scaffolding. The tub i would use it as a flower bed paint it. You seem too be getting into more work than originally planed. lol but isn't that the way it always is.
Love watching you guys. I'm curious how you keep the place so impeccable with so many cats? My cat would regularly leave half his fur on any piece of furniture he chose to lie on. And my dog is no better🙂
The dog fur is the worst...
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
That old bath tub was quite the find. Too small to bathe in but could be refurbished into a beautiful planter.
That attic is amazing. Fireplaces and such detail.
Rather than a dormer in the barn, velux windows ? i.e. skylights? Great progress!
The bathtub would make a great planter.
Renovating old houses is always an adventure, especially with the electrical. My old 1928 house had the bathroom light switch inside the shower stall. Needless to say, the shower was an add-on, maybe in the 40s.
That slipper bath is lovely. What a great thing. Yay the kitties found the guest quarters.
The zinc bathtub is a wonderful find. Certainly hope you can find a place for it. The cottage is so amazing with the beams upstairs. Be careful Lincoln!! 😊😊
The cottage and barn are amazing
The bath tub find is amazing. It would make a nice walled garden feature.
A little trick I came up with to make those wooden garden edges look really elegant is to paint them black, a good solid black. It's amazing what a difference that makes. I've had to do it when they're already in the ground, but of course, it's much easier to paint them first before laying them. I can send a photo if you're interested to see how it looks. No other colour works as well. I know you don't want any other projects, so I understand you might not want to. Still, it also has the benefit of making them last longer. I've painted treated and untreated wood. The cottage is going to be pretty wonderful! If you're making two rooms up there, are you going to make it two bathrooms as well? Kinda nice when everyone has their own bathroom.
All of my others are black :) Didn’t have a chance to get these painted…
@@OurFrenchChateau I definitely know how that goes!
If you don't already have one, get a sawzall. It makes demo so much easier & maybe even fun. Love watching Lincoln's careful, methodical work. He's a treasure. 👍👍
Watching y’all’s videos makes a bad day better and a good day into a superlative day. Like unexpectedly hearing a favorite song or enjoying a piece of art or a sunset. Thank you, Michael Lexington, Kentucky,USA 18:58
Looks like pickles and and pancake are happier be château kitties.😊 Olive looks like she’s very happy to have a home. It’s good that Lincoln had his Wheaties so he could hulk out.😂 Amanda your spot on that wall of doors is so unique gives a lot of character. Thank you, Amanda and Lincoln.
I love thé music in your vidéos thank you. You are in my country, la Bretagne and i follow you since thé begining love you
Merci :)
I love how all your kitties get along im sure my two would raise the roof if i brought more kitties home ❤
Amanda I just love your humour😂
Would definitely make that extra bedroom. Think Waffle is my favourite but they are all beautiful cats x
I really like your vibe 🙂 A trick is to blacken the wooden boards around the vegetable patch (burn them slightly) they will last longer and you like black hehe
The new kitty that is in the cateau should be name Midnight... ❤🎉
Another amazing episode, thanks so much, loved it, as always!
The doors are charming. I would frame it out, insulate, and put the doors back. Opening the closet into the barn is a STELLAR idea. There could be rooms and loads f closet space, freshly painted, of course. That other cottage is DIVINE! The paneling…🤤😍
Love the zinc tub! Hopefully Lincoln can repair it and it will have a place somewhere in the cottage. Excited to see how the cottage and barn turn out. O ward to the gardens. ❤
The new kitty looks pregnant? Nice cat condo.
Sure go ahead and walk across that attic floor!
Are you kidding me?
Love your channel❤️
Your grounds and out buildings are by far the most beautiful and when you have realized your dream they will be a show stopper. I find it funny for a lack of a better word how you work in what I would call inclement weather. Since I live in the states, Kentucky I would wait til it was dry and partly sunny at best. Love your vlogs. Can’t wait for more.
