    Katherine was not just a great Mathematician, she was a Genius. I worked with several Engineers and Equipment designers over the years. I can guarantee that if any NASA Engineers could could have done her brilliant work, they would have taken credit for it. She was the right person in the right place at the right time. Genius is not just about ability and training, it is also drive and determination.

    Although she ( Katherine G Johnson) has passed on since, It is marvelous that she was able to practically turn around her gift and talent to good use and break barriers effectively, albeit the hard way. All things eventually work towards those who do not give up but pursue good work. anyone who discriminates, have discriminated anywhere on the face of this earth has to feel ashamed , with examples as these

    At 26.50, the narrator should have said, "Three weeks later on May 5th, 1961, America LAUNCHED the first man in space." But he said LOST the first man in space; this is not true because Alan Shepard died in 1998.

    • @EarmuffHugger
      @EarmuffHugger 2 роки тому +1

      I clearly hear the narrator pronounce the "n" while saying "launch".
      The "ch" does sound more pronounciated as "st" yet the word "launch" even pronounced as "lonst" sounds predominantly more like the word "LAUNCH" than the word "LOST" (especially when listening in context with the video itself).
      I conclude that you're hearing may need an evaluation or that your comment may be a racially motivated slur. ✌️

      Yeah the speech to text is messed up but if the person is deaf or has a hearing problem then it's not their fault.

    If they were having the women in the secretary pool deriving all the orbital mechanics equatiions and solving them on their own, then all the engineer did was "sign off" on them, what were they paying the engineers for, to check the secretaries work? Sounds like the engineers were the secretaries and the women in the computer pool were the actual engineers. If that's so, why don't ALL of the women have statues made for them at their alma matters? Why just this lucky bird?
