WSX was basically ECW, FMW and CZW all rolled up into one cartoonish half-hour of guilty pleasure goodness. Sucks that MTV never promoted it, it could've been their Lucha Underground.
For the most part, you aren't too far off. This promotion was made by a few people who once worked with XPW after it went belly up. XPW was basically the west coast trying to make their own ECW type of promotion.
DUDE HOLY SHIT I KNEW THIS WAS REAL! FOR YEARS I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FEVER DREAM! Holy fucking Christ, I remember watching it the day it aired. Christ I've been trying to remember what this fucking was and only came here after watching the x-pac video Wrestling With Andy made. Thank you for bringing me peace
Kris Kloss is great! Enjoy his old school "wrestling" excitement. With all the ADD of WSX, he constantly steers the audience back to the focus of the match. ...very underated IMO
The short-lived program was a bridge to Lucha Underground (Promotion as TV Show....Vampiro as the link) -- this main event match was from Episode One. MTV suits got nervous with the "Fireball Incident"......and the network then couldn't dump the show fast enough.
In ECW, he was world champion once and won the tag belts twice with Lance Storm. In WWE, he had won the Hardcore championship 8 times so 8 plus 3 equals 11. Technically has held 11 championships between ECW and WWE is what I think they were trying to say.... but obvious time constraints and a lack of anyone at MTV knowing how pro wrestling works couldn't give a shit.
MTV gave the platform, and MTV eventually ruined it! Folks that had history and expertise in the wrestling game produced the show…Houston Curtis, Kris Kloss, Kevin Kleinrock and others… But of course, those at MTV with zero wrestling knowledge and/or experience just had to put their two cents in and get involved in creative,…that was the beginning of the end!
***** It's the same scenario they do with Lucha Underground, except Lucha Underground is better in pretty much every way. It's not that the crowd are actors or anything, but they generally wouldn't let a hostile crowd stick around for television viewer perspective purposes.
@@coreypayne7470 It wasn't that wrestling didn't fit with MTV, what happened was MTV realized that the show was too violent and they were afraid of idiots doing stuff at home and then MTV getting hit with lawsuits. It was really just to avoid legal issues.
Well WSX was pre-taped just like SD use to be so I'm not surprised they added those sounds. I mean, the sounds made don't fit with the size of the crowd. It sounds like there are WAY more people there than there really are lol.
it was actually the 4th episode, but yea bout the FCC. Jersey Shore with their crap didn't get canceled til 4 years being on TV, but a fireball gets this canceled.
WSX is the epitome of thirty minute wrestling. Be as flashy, insane, and attention-grabbing as possible to fill the limited time. To be fair, it’s how I got introduced to Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne), so that’s something.
I completely agree! It's marketed and set up perfectly for the average MTV viewer to get into wrestling while still having the roster to make long term fans get excited. It'd be impossible to revitalize it now but for the time it came out, it's really well done for what it was.
@@SolidSonicTH Oh yeah, It's obviously stupid. It's for MTV in the late 2000s. But the smart thing is how its perfectly marketed to people watching back then.
I don't know about this moment, but in a battle royal, you have to be thrown over the top rope to be eliminated from the match, not the middle rope. These were crazy times back then. #LongLiveWSX
New jack should have never been eliminated wtf he never went over the top rope. That's how you know the business is scared of black success in the business.
New Jack was never eliminated. He went through the ropes not over the top. Must have forgotten the rules. Also that elbow drop was cool but OTT. I'd rather see that than cheesy special effects that make you laugh cos its that bad.
Well considering g4 and spike are no longer a channel. And half the people that were here are either retired, in different companies its hard to have that happen. Plus it needs no crowd dubbing keep the insane matchups but yeah again it would be rough to relaunch
WSX wasn't really trying to be a traditional american Pro Wrestling promotion cause unlike most companies at the time, WSX actually admits that The Industry evolved and the 80s style of wrestling(big strong men) was the past and Hardcore and High flying and comedy were the future
+Clifford The Big Red Dog that was like 2nd tier though. originals were Shawn Michaels, triple h, Chyna and Rick Rude. after wrestlemania 14, they added xpac. that was a weird episode of raw.

This is like what people who know nothing about wrestling imagine it's like.
WSX wasn't about the Traditional Style of Pro Wrestling.
RevolveTechUSA 99 It was an overproduced wannabe ECW.
For the most part, you aren't too far off. This promotion was made by a few people who once worked with XPW after it went belly up. XPW was basically the west coast trying to make their own ECW type of promotion.
SilenceEnigma z
so AEW
WSX had a talented roster but a untalented channel.
They had an EPIC roster.. Just sad they couldn't make it work...

Rest In Peace 🕊 New Jack
Seth Rollins said on Edge and Christians podcast recently. That he was on MTV's Wrestling Society X. LOL...I remember this show too.
Am I the only one who liked WSX?
Two
JaredIsLemons third
Me too I love wsx
Yes yes you are
Nope not the only one
x pac, vampiro, and new jack in the same match. This is a fucking 2k match in real life
Youth suicide was a backyard wrestler who got trained by supreme
new Jack killed the little referee and Chris Hamrick wow

Justin Credible was not a 11 time E.C.W & W.W.F. champ

what was Los Pochos Guapos theme song I can't find it anywhere nor do I know the name whoever knows please help me out. thank's
That ring announcer sure impressed me!
How the Hell did this Show get Cancelled!!!
MTV
They should have continued with this wrestling company it was pretty cool.
there was only 2 wsx title matches one on the 2nd show and one on the last show
one of my favorite promotions, shame it didn't last
This could have had potential had it not been for the over the top explosions and stuff.
The first time I saw X-PAC in four years, he’s my all time favorite🤘
Why does AEW exist? THIS needs to be the wrestling people watch in 2021.
These fake crowd sounds remind me of Smackdown.

***** It's the same scenario they do with Lucha Underground, except Lucha Underground is better in pretty much every way. It's not that the crowd are actors or anything, but they generally wouldn't let a hostile crowd stick around for television viewer perspective purposes.

Maybe WWE should add this to the Royal Rumble not the electric wires but the tables and the same with 2K16
6pac!!! I'm fuckin dead!!!😂😂😂😂😂
That crowd reminds me of a fucking game... It's so fake.
weird promos, good quality on cameras.the wrestling is decent.
Awesomeness show I miss this
So many mega stars in one hardcore match, this is amazing, and buried by their own clueless commentators
7:29 Awsome ! New Jack epic guy ! Too bady is cancelled in 10 episodes. :/
That one guy looked like Stone Cold Steve Austin #316
New Jack never went over the ropes?
You cant leave the ring
Didn't this had like one season?
it was actually the 4th episode, but yea bout the FCC. Jersey Shore with their crap didn't get canceled til 4 years being on TV, but a fireball gets this canceled.

Wsx had a good roster. What a shame it only has 10 episodes
Somebody would have died if this wrestling was 100℅ real
@SharpKnifeProductions yeah if you have real explosives and get really electricuted your at least going to the hospital for a few months
i cant speak lool its awsome all old wrestlers that were awsome are back and im gona folow wsx aswell now
Michael Bay's favorite promotion
I can see how Kid Kaos tried to make a name for himself in WSX, but he fits only in XPW.
I miss this show.
Same here
New jack should have never been eliminated wtf he never went over the top rope. That's how you know the business is scared of black success in the business.
but what nobody realizes is that kevin kleinrock wanted to do more but mtv limited him
ZAKK WYLDEEEE!!!!
I remeber Youth Suicide as a backyard wrestler in RWF
Classic New Jack fucking hilarious.
New Jack was never eliminated. He went through the ropes not over the top. Must have forgotten the rules. Also that elbow drop was cool but OTT. I'd rather see that than cheesy special effects that make you laugh cos its that bad.
4:16 my favorite has arrived
The camera angles and cut aways are annoying. I can understand why this didn't take off.
if you're going to imply a man just exploded, don't cut back to him laying on a comfy chain link fence hammock without a single wound lol
Youth suicide is my favorite cause i wztched his backyard wrestling matches
they need to bring it back and put it on spike or g4
or FITE tv since they are probably the best indy outlet

i love zacks commentary. "for the love of god"
Seth Rollins was in these hahah pre wwe days
I don't like the way MTV shoots 85% of their stuff.
These guys signed New Jack
@MrWwemaster13 I really wouldn't bother following WSX. It was cancelled with just 10 episodes produced.
WSX was a garbo promotion but it was stupidly funny.
I feel like it's a bad thing if wrestling feels "too fake".
WSX wasn't really trying to be a traditional american Pro Wrestling promotion cause unlike most companies at the time, WSX actually admits that The Industry evolved and the 80s style of wrestling(big strong men) was the past and Hardcore and High flying and comedy were the future
Vampiro is basically a low rate version of Sting
i love this
i love it but one quection were is the stadom
Yall need to be put in jail
if you like WSX I recommend CZW and XPW
Krystal Kyle i happen to be a fan of a little diddy called
JCW
Chaos is not latino dude sounds hilarious saying como chingas lmao
i no why would they do that it was awsome
HaHa the future the damn company's gone!! But that was some good shit
teddy Hart is a fucking acrobat...and charismatic too
It's was alright overall.
Good match, exciting. But these gimmicks suck ass
What?
Hmm shades of old ECW here!
The Mud Show.
6:15
omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
original member of dx my ass.
He was. Back in the WWF Attitude Era he was in the original DX
+Clifford The Big Red Dog that was like 2nd tier though. originals were Shawn Michaels, triple h, Chyna and Rick Rude. after wrestlemania 14, they added xpac. that was a weird episode of raw.
+Ricky Rosales it made sense since Syxx was good friends with Hunter and Shawn Michaels.
RevolveTechUSA 99 yeah he was also the 123 kid and a member of the kilq. But original dx member he wasn't.
Vinnie Bale
Vinnie Bale The original DX was HHH Shawn Micheals, Rick Rude and Chyna
8:29 😂
