  • I've explained in earlier videos that an XLOOKUP returns a cell reference and not a value; of course, just because I've explained it doesn't mean anyone understood me.
If you want to better understand how to use this very useful Excel function and banish VLOOKUPs and HLOOKUPs to the trash, watch and enjoy.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I'll use this nested with xlookups with multiple criteria over date ranges and it'll be dynamic. Perfect for a sales dashboard.

Yep. I'm a big fan of using XLOOKUPs with almost everything. It's become sort of like hot sauce for me. It goes on everything.

Very nice, Josh thank you. Checking the website periodically to see when you might offer the advanced class in NYC.

Ok. You’ve got me. :) I’ll pick a date this week. Will be in q3.

You could mention that xlookup returns EITHER a cell reference of the matching value or an array reference with a starting reference value. Like from the getgo.

But I do like your video. No nonsense and you don't talk too slowly. That drives me nuts. It's harder to understand when someone talks too slowly and/or someone takes forever to get to the point of the lesson. You talk fast enough and you get to the point fairly quickly. You know your target audience. Subscribing.

Much appreciated. Yes. I assume the viewers of a technical video on Excel aren't idiots. Hence, I don't need to speak s-l-o-w-l-y.

@@JoshuaKahr lol, and I like that you don’t add in unnecessary comments like how to use windows in general and how to scroll with the mouse. It’s so frustrating when people do that. If someone doesn’t know that by the time they need this tutorial, there is no helping them.
