Caitlin, I just rode the Skyliner for the first time last week! I was scared a bit but I thought of it like a ride and it kind of felt like Peter Pan’s Flight! We had so much fun we rode it again and agin for an hour! Also, I highly recommend going to the La Petite Cafe for desserts at the Rivera stop. They were amazing and there is a library lounge that we took our desserts to right next to the Cafe that is really relaxing. 😊
Caitlin, it’s okay!! Terrified of heights as is my husband and we both have done the skyliners multiple times!! I think they have worked out the kinks!!
I’m terrified of heights and the only part that makes me nervous is when it goes over the road!! Other than that I’ve been on the skyliner on an *extremely* windy day and wasn’t scared! I love it!
as someone who hates heights - if you go on the skyliner, close your eyes when you're pulling into/leaving the stations!!! it's very jarring and i was SPOOKED. that being said, it's beautiful and you just can't think about it that hard while you're up there!
My school took students to Disney last year. I had a group of 9 with 1 terrified of heights. She cried the way up to the skyliner, had one small panic attack on the take off at the beginning. And then LOVED it. When we got to Epcot, she was ready to go again back to Hollywood Studios at the end of the day. You can totally go on it.
that chocolate crinkle cookie and the s’mores chocolate drink looks so delicious!!! I think I might go this Thursday & i’m super duper excited to try all the treats you both ate hehe
Caitlin, I hate heights so much! But the skyliner is awesome because you are totally enclosed so you can't see the ground if you don't want to and you don't really feel it swing or anything so it's very secure. Also, this is basically like a ski mountain gondola which have been around for like a hundred years so that technology is sound as heck.
I am terrified of heights too! I like freeze up if I am high up and look down. I can only do heights if I feel safe like in rollercoasters because of the safety belts and all. I had no problem with the skyliner, I actually prefer it to the buses. I got on when it was windy and that was a bit scary but honestly it felt like I was on a regular ride. Definitely recommend.
Im not scared of heights, but i was TERRIFIED of the idea of getting stuck, and the skyliner is way better then I ever imagined!! I would suggest looking up the routes and finding the smallest one ( i think its POP to Caribbean beach) and doing that first to get a feel for it!
i worked on the skyliner on my cp as apart of the opening team and was there that night the incident happened. i am absolutely terrified for heights and was terrified to fly again after it happened. however, i did (mostly because it was quite literally my job) and i honestly love it. my girlfriend still works there so i go to visit her all the time. (also you can see the ratatouille ride clearly from it and the harmonious barges so it’s def worth it right now)
listen... i was ~terrified~ to ride the skyliner. i have this thing with heights as well, but i'm fine on rollercoasters/rides typically. the skyliner freaked me out and still kind of does tbh.. i think it's mostly the being in an enclosed box essentially?? like who's idea was that but tbh it is really cool and such a short ride from everywhere. maybe just do like a lil short ride first? and then judge it from there. but i still get nervous in them, especially going over the water. that is NOT for me.
HEY! for small shop of the day you should check out these two disney small shops .... one is upon a star supply co and the other one is you can fly supply
Caitlin was DEDICATED to find that Olaf lol
the skyliner is such a smooth ride! not scary at all (and i hate heights)
