  • This one is going to upset some of you...but only if you choose not listen to what I'm actually saying!
I'm not saying these are bad fragrances...well, maybe one of them...regardless of my very particular reasoning for avoiding these 5 fragrances, here is what is most important:
If you have already smelled these fragrances and you love them, keep loving them. Pay me no mind. But if you remotely care about my opinion on fragrances, I only suggest that you take heed to what I'm saying about each of these fragrances before you decide to purchase them.
Because I don't wish to control anyone's taste, should you still have interest in purchasing the fragrances I've outlined, I'll have links below.

I’m seeing your comments: DHP is not discontinued in the Eastern Hemisphere, and that is wonderful for y’all 😆
My messaging for it is mainly directed at my Western Hemisphere brethren/sistren.
Bottom line, if you’re able to get it for a “good” price (relative), get it! 🔥

Luckily it’s available in Germany, but it’s hella expensive 100ml costs 145$.
Sometimes it’s on sale in German Airports for employees only, I know some people working there so i can get it for 100$-130$ still a lot of money to me but it’s worth it’s price 🤷‍♂️

Hawas gets me more unsolicited compliments than any other fragrance in my collection. Work, gym, grocery store, you name it. Strangers coming up to tell me I smell amazing and that they must know what it is...women and men of all ages. Personally, it's not the favorite in my collection but when I want to be noticed, it's Hawas no question.

As a huge fan of Hawas, I can understand your gripe. For me though, the scent is just so pleasant and I don’t mind the scent being linear. And I definitely agree with Percival complaint. I just love these honnest reviews Justin. If we want, we can see hundreds of top this and that list video's, with perfumes like this. Video's which basicly leads the obsessive collectors into buying perfumes they realy don't need. Again a valuable lesson for those who are willing to listen.
Folks, enjoy this hobby but don't let it become an obsession! An obsession will only harm you sooner or later.

Also, I fully agree with Percival. It smells good, but for the price it really is so close to Fierce, that many people will just think you’re wearing Fierce (especially since so many people are familiar with how that smells). Who wants to spend niche money for people to think you’re wearing a basic super popular designer scent?
There are so many better options for the money imo, even just from Parfums de Marly.

Great video. A lot of houses releasing flankers especially edp/parfum versions giving less for more. Just a cash grab and I hope Roja doesn’t go continue down this route. Have to totally agree with your take on this PDM. I tried it on skin in the store and was really disappointed, it’s not terrible, far from it, but for the money and something aimed at being niche it felt like being blindsided. Really enjoy your channel please keep doing it your way.

It's nice to see a fragrance reviewer give honest opinions about fragrances that shouldn't be hyped. There always seems to be a lot of hype in the fragrance world.
I used to blind buy but I've come to realize that fragrances are too subjective for that. Now I know to sample.

For anyone in the USA looking for DHP, just ask anyone you know who’s travelling to Europe (or nearby) on holiday to look out for you. I’m not USA based, but a family member picked me up a bottle from a European Airport for ~$120 or so.
That being said, I would agree with some other comments - I feel that even at $250 for 100ml, it’s worth the price tag. It’s as good a scent as I’ve ever smelled, so I think even with a niche price tag it’s still a fair buy. Obviously, don’t blind buy it though - always sample first like Justin said.

I gotta be honest. I wore Fierce for over a decade way before I got into fragrances. I loved it but felt it was time to grow up as I was about to enter my mid 30's. A couple years after, I got bit by the fragrance bug. Parfums De Marly became my favorite niche house. I didn't and still don't understand the comparison between Fierce and Percival. A couple things I will say about this topic. First off, I have actually been asked if I was wearing Fierce while wearing Percival quite frequently. I don't understand it but I have gotten that. Second, I never used to get compliments with Fierce. Sometimes, yes. But not with any regularity. But I get LOADS of compliments with Percival. It's like fishing with dynamite! As far as my own opinion. I got a decant of Percival originally and was originally disappointed. It kind of has an aldahidic smell as opposed to Fierce which is much sweeter of the opening. Fierce is much more linear and doesn't evolve much if at all while I think Percival actually evolved quite a bit. Percival is also really long lasting for a fresh fragrance while Fierce had pretty bad longevity in my opinion. When it is said that Percival is a version of Fierce, I would say maybe they are in the same class, but I don't think you can call it a version of Fierce. But to each their own

However, I find that it is so frickin' loud I don't even feel comfortable wearing it when I go for drinks with friends at a restaurant (before hitting the club) or at a friend's house for pre-drinks 🤣🤣🤣 Agree that it is very linear as well.

We need more honest and objective people like you. Even extremely experienced perfumers have certain specific interests and tastes that goes in a certain direction but i see lots off POPULAR UA-camrs "loving" and boasting off on any fragrance that they put their hands on (don't mistake this as appreciating the art). Oh this is awesome this is crazy and a week later after a new "flanker" releases they say that (MUUH THEY UPGRADED THE FRAGRANCE). They don't even try to describe the scent they just boast some random stuff. They don't put statistical graphics of wheter ppl like it either, they usually bullshit about the fragrance and throw up random terms to sound trustful.

DH Parfum is easier to come by in Europe. But I understand that price is a valid reason not to get a fragrance. In my opinion however, this is well worth in access of 150 euros.
As for Hawas, to me is not that strong, batch variation probably. My reason for avoiding it is that I don't like it.

Ultimately we all have different tastes and smell profiles so not everyone is going to like or dislike the same! I appreciate honest opinions and just because the influencer likes or doesn't like it doesn't mean we have to follow suit. I can't count how many times YT frag reviewers have hyped up a scent only for me to buy it and be disappointed so it's nice when they throw in some honest opinions as well!

Hawas is one of my most complemented and best bang for money, the 10-14 hour longevity is a positive, just don’t spray anywhere on your chest or front of the neck, spray behind the neck, behind the shoulders, back of the ears , even on the side of your pants, the sillage is crazy, just 2-3 sprays.

finally someone who admits Percival as a smell its not worth the money. I am a big fan of PDM. Almost any reviewer praises Percival like its the next thing . For the general nose it will smell like any other perfume made by a designer for a half the price. I did not had any freshie from PDM so I got myself Galloway from notino and I was really lucky to get an older bottle from before reformulations. But yea in my head Galloway is better , Kalan is better , Sedley . And these are just the freshies. I wont get into Carlisle or Godolphin for example. Spot on m8

Is PDM like Creed? There have been people saying for several years that PDM is a clone house, and many of their fragrances smell like similar fragrances on the market. Now they have an issue with Percival that Creed has with Green Irish Tweed where your wearing an expensive fragrance out, and the average person on the street things you smell like a designer fragrance. It is one of the main reasons there are folks that sold their Green Irish Tweed bottle or stopped wearing it because they were fed up with people thinking they were wearing David Off Cool Water. You don't spend a lot of money on a niche fragrance to smell like a typical designer brand already on the market unless you just want a more luxurious version of a designer fragrance, then you could care less.

Just ordered a sample of hawas because I cannot bring myself to pay $50 for it. It's a little over $40 on discounters but that doesn't account for shipping. My guess is, that it's gonna be a value trap. If your description of it is correct that is. I'm wanting a little bit of a more refined freshie. Maybe something with Versace Pour Homme's masculinity, but with way more personality as opposed to basic designer scent.

Not every Bond No. 9 fragrance. There are two Bond no 9 fragrances that get a lot of hype and fragrance reviewers seem to love. Bleeker Street and New Harlem. Bond No. 9 gets a lot of hate because of their retail price, and the fact that most of their fragrances smell more like designer fragrances compared to niche fragrances by reviewers, but you can always find good prices for Bond No. 9 fragrances at discounters, and they have fragrances that people sleep on. Bond no 9 is not for everybody, but there were fragrance reviewers that loved the house. Kevin Samuels when he used to do fragrance reviews said the house of Bond no 9 was his secret weapon. He had many Bond no 9 fragrances in his collection. Bond No. 9 and Creed are like the first two niche houses folks that are into designer fragrances usually try or buy. Bond No. 9 and Creed were introductory niche houses for many folks probably due to the hype of Creed Aventus and the legendary New Harlem fragrance with that pancake syrupy smell that a lot of fragrance reviewers were talking about.
