I tried scatter feeding and my bunny willow is super lazy and I thought scatter feeding would make her exercise more and walk around but when I scattered the food she just looked at me and was like "Why did you just do that?" 🤣😂
I completely agree that a single rabbits personality will change once they are bonded. I always thought my rabbit would be dominant and territorial! But turns out the girl I adopted was dominant and my boy was submissive!
It’s always so fascinating to see what role they take on when they’re bonded! Milky is so skiddish towards humans but he’s the alpha bunny out of the 3 now so 🤷♀️😂
My favorite thing to do with my rabbit is show her I have a treat then run back and forth my hallway and she LOVES it it’s so cute when she chases me 💖😂🥰
My rabbit Cinnabun LOVES cardboard! I got these little cardboard wheels with a jingly ball in the middle from the cat section recently, and he just chewed all the cardboard right off. It was pretty hilarious always knowing when he was playing with it because the ball would jingle! I've been trying to find some good ways to help him be able to scavenge, too, and I found that he really loves when I take a wicker ball and stuff timothy hay inside of it. And I wanna try a thing I saw on pinterest where someone unraveled a cardboard toilet paper tube and put a stalk of lettuce inside so that their rabbit would have to pull the lettuce out of the spaces in the tube. I feel like he'd really enjoy that.
I like to change up her space a lot. That gets her really excited like she has a new environment to explore. Lots of enrichment feeding ways: cat maze bowl, scattered, oxbow teaser ball, forging mat, etc... She has boxes and chewing toys.
Rabbits loooove seagrass mats - you can get them cheap at Bunnings (you just have to give them a wash in a diluted vinegar and water bath to remove anything and dry them ) they are awesome to stitch together and make into tunnels or bend into arches for bunnies to run underneath. They love to destroy them and since we got the seagrass mats Snuggles the bunny we have doesn't destroy anything else except his willow ball. He just loves the seagrass mats and I even use them in his litter box over the top of the litter because it keeps his feet dry and clean because his poo and pee goes right through the holes. It saves a lot on the litter because he can't dig around and make a mess of the litter so his wee and poo is usually in specific spots ( he has a very big litter box because that's how he likes it and I've had less toileting problems with him since I made a big open air one) I can now easily lift up the mats every morning and spot clean the soiled areas. I just have to wash the seagrass mats I use in his litter box once a week with warm water and vinegar and line dry them. I hope this also helps other bunny lovers who are looking for enrichment ideas and also other tips for free roaming bunnies
omg thank you for these tips!! I completely forgot all about scatter feeding (i’m really guilty of spoiling my bun!) gonna start doing that tomorrow :))
Thank you for the tip. We realized our bunny needed a companion but didn’t think about getting another bunny because we didn’t think we could handle twice the damage. Now we have a baby bunny and she shows signs of aggression sometimes so we’re afraid of putting them together because we don’t want the baby to get hurt. But it’s been 3 months now. We let them see each other, but I know we’ll need to start with the bonding process soon. Also, I love your bunny castle! It’s sooo cute!! 🥰
here's a tip: if you rub a bar of dove soap on corners you don't want chewed and it keeps them from chewing because they hate the taste! my bun got like two licks of this and never chews my furniture anymore 😆
This was amazing for me to learn about their enrichment, Im so glad im able to learn about these things before I get my rabbits so I can avoid them getting too bored or unhappy from the beginning. Thankyou!!!
I just found your channel and I'm binge watching your videos 🥰 I don't have rabbits rn. I used to when I was pretty young and my boy toffee was my best little buddy. I hope to have a rabbit again someday. ❤️
I have two very close rabbits (adopted - they took comfort in each other when neglected i guess) and I used to want to foster more rabbits (that would be kept separate to mine) but now I plan on fostering for a bit to see if i can find a good match to bond with mine with as I think it would also be a bit better if mine are slightly less close, more territorial, as one of mine destroys the litter box (digs in the hay) every single day! They won’t use separate litter boxes and the other bun won’t eat the hay that’s been dug in!!!
I have a free-roam rabbit that lives in my room, but it´s quite small and I can´t bring in another rabbbit just yet. I always try to find ways to entertrain him. I always scatter-feed him, I divide his daily pellets into two parts and feed him during the day. He knows he has to earn his pellets either by doing tricks or coming up to me and ask, jump into my lap or find them in a puzzle toy. He loves his little treat-dispersing ball as well. He is only 2 pounds, so I like to use pellets more as a treat than just giving him the whole amount at once. I bunny proofed my room thoroughly, but he is not destructive at all. He doesn´t really care about chew toys, so I am not sure what toys to give him since all he is really interested in is food. He doesn´t chew anything he is not supposed to except occasionally munching on a carpet. He doesn´t dig much either, I tried a box with tissues and a blanket for him to dig, but he just can´t be bothered. So I wonder if he is happy because he doesn´t really chew on things very much. even when I try to encourage him by hiding pellets in chew toys. Only thing he plays with is a toilet roll he occassionally throws around. He does binkies and runs around like crazy sometimes, flops everywhere and generally doesn´t seem to be stressed, but I still wonder if I am doing everything right. I also spend a lot of time with him on the ground every day during feeding and every time he comes to me since I work from home, so I am available to him when he wants to most of the time. He does not like to be pet very much either, so I wonder what else can I do to prevent boredom. He is 8 moths old, not neutered yet as I only have him for a month. Any tips?
Hi after 7 months my boy rabbits are now good friends. Bonded at last. Tried many suggested ways many times, the bath ,small areas, outdoor verandah while I watched them.after a an hour or so the hair would start to fly.anyway 2 weeks exactly they have been bonded. It has made life much less stressful for them and me.
Good job 👏 I also bonded my rabbits (Like 1 month ago) and it also went really well ! Some scuffles, but mostly it went great 👍🏼 I followed 101 rabbits bonding video Surprisingly when I put my new rescue rabbit into my old rabbits area they didn’t fight at all! 😌😇they were meant to be ! 🐰❤️🐰
Well done! Sometimes it's hard as someone is school (me too) to take care of rabbits so congrats!!!!! I'm thinking of getting my single rabbit 2 sisters soon
@@annapresley6574 I followed 101 rabbits bonding videos as well! And I’m so happy your rabbits are bonded! It’s really just so amazing for them to have a friend!
Congrats I’m 12 and I’m going to be bonding my four rabbits just waiting for two to be spayed long list but I’m not looking forward too it two of them are bonded my neutered male and my 4 month old who not old enough to be spayed and then I have a mother and daughter the dad is my neutered male he escaped and breed her but the babies are gone to good home and then some hopefully they’ll be living together
I am trying to bond my rabbits in opposite ways😅I give them time to chase each other in a big space where everybody hangs around and of course with supervision.I let them eat together,so far it’s working.I discouraged to have them experience a negative event as much as possible. One rabbit doesn’t fight at all ,the other won’t stop being territorial, then the other would like to tease the dominant one. They’re so fun to watch competing each other and owning everything in the house, including my hands….they’d chin my hand when it belongs to me😆 I wonder how they do it in the wild.
I had my boy Charlie as an only rabbit for a year, the best thing i did for him was adopt his half sister. He immediately started sniffing and grooming her, no question. easiest bunny bond of my life.
Love your videos! I take like your set up! How did you set up their area? My bunnies are starting to display destructive behaviors and kind of destroying my apartment 😬. Can you do a video on your tips to bubby proof for free roaming buns?🙏
"and they are very agressive if they are bored...." I was just wondering what happened to my bunny's behaviour. She spend summer living with my old grandma, because we had renovation going on in the house. She s now, sometimes attacking anyone who's comin into her pen. Basically" get outta my room im playing minecraft" kinda vibe. But I am going to take her home soon and make her lots of chew toys and box houses.
We recently got our bunnies about a month ago and they pooped like crazy how can you keep them in your house? Are they potty trained? And if so how do you do that?
Yeh you can litter train rabbits, search how to litter train your rabbit on UA-cam. But the main thing is get a litter box that they can do lots of 360 turns in, fill it with bedding and lots and lots of hay. And every time they poop outside the litter box pick it up as soon as possible and put it in the box, and with pee wipe it up with a tissue, put the tissue in the litter box - and spray where they peed outside the litter box with water and vinegar. This usually takes about 2 weeks to a month. But my other rabbit took about 3 months to properly get the hang of it.
Social enrichment is sooooo important! In my opinion, I think it's cruel and selfish to take on a rabbit without the intention of getting them a friend or two. The rabbit behaviourist I speak to says there is no such thing as an unbondable rabbit. It's all about finding the right rabbit to fit their personality🐇🐇 I also think giving rabbits a large dig box is important. Especially if they don't have access to a garden😊
Thank you so much for this video. My bunny has been destructive the past few days; hopefully, these enrichment ideas 💡 and thank you for following my Instagram account

What mat do you have underneath the castle? We need that for our bunnies!
scatter feeding is a good idea considering some rabbits will spill their bowls on purpose!! if mine does it i don’t even bother to clean it up
