I'm so jealous of how mint your door cards are. Since you wired into the OEM harness and amps, how's the audio been over the course of a trip? Do you get any sound cut? I got an older Pioneer headunit and it was overpowering the rear amp, overheating and shutting off, so I ended up making a bypass for it.

Honestly after driving it for a week or so, everything seems perfectly fine. The sound is great but I do get the urge to go back and delete the door amps for peace of mind. How did you go about doing yours?

@@RedneckTuners I'm still using OE size speakers, haven't taken my cards off in a while so I forgot what they are, Pioneers or Alpines that came with the car and I have some Infinity's in the rear. I still have the fronts in the OE mounts and wired to the stock amps, and I do get some overheat/sound cut if I take the volume up around 30+ or tweak with settings too much. Sound in the back is pretty clear with the amp bypassed, but it's still using 30 year old wiring. I kinda want to rewire the speakers direct to the headunit honestly,

@@Nezumi_The_Stripes I noticed im on old cheap wiring in the rear as well and that always scares me. Ideally id like to run so newer nicer ones as well. Maybe when I pull the carpet for a better setup I will 😭😂

Aren't you concerned about the exposed components at the bottom of the door? If water gets down there it could be the end of them. Also do they get in the way of the window rolling down?

Honestly the water issue crossed my mind but it only rains for like a week every year in CA and i keep the car out of it haha. I plan to rig a different set up where the amp is either removed or at least pushed up against the inside of the door. Also the bottom right corners taps the amp but is not causing any issues but a slightly irritating noise lol. Better setup to come for sure but works great for now

the water wont be an issue unless the whole door fills up ...but then you have bigger issues aha. All speakers are pretty much exposed inside the door like that regardless of location.
