The Default loot setting in 42 is "Rare" which is the equivalent to 41's "Extremely Rare". And Cigarettes on this setting are as scarce ias Sledgehammers.
Im around day 50, so far i've found 2 packs of cigarette, every day i go further out to gas stations looking for them, not really a fun experience, searching for smokes instead of guns or tools
I'm liking 42 so far. Lots of mods seem to have ascended to base code, yay. But those new ID cards.. hoo-boy. Suddenly, now my enemy once had meaning :O
Awesome stuff mate, I love watching you get so excited for all the new and little details that have come with B42.. mostly because it totally validates my own personal "OMG look at this thing!" reactions to literally everything! There's so many QoL additions to the base game now that used to be mods, so much new and cool stuff to see too both through map exploration and story items wise, you started in a great place to see a lot of it too especially with the animals! There's definitely some balancing to do but between the Sandbox options and super quick hotfixes we've already had I'm thoroughly enjoying this update!
The Id's may seem like nothing special but it can make the game more immersive and serve as a reminder that the monsters you kill were once human and well from a gameplay perspective you could play as a character that doesn't want to forget they were people and collects the ID's to remember those who he has freed from their suffering and well logically the character might think that he might find someone that knew them or that if things go back to normal then it can help with the process of finding out who died during the crisis
May have cut it out, as I kept fumbling my words over it - but I basically had a similar sentiment - makes the zombies seem more human, and finding certain loot that may save your life, alongside an id badge, could make you really thankful to that particular person, something you wouldn’t think twice about without an id badge
Security bases or underground facilities might be able to be modded to require specific id cards as keys. Items tend to be added before their purpose/use is added.

You can feed the animals a lot of things as far as I know but the best thing to give them is clerical animal feed. There’s a store that has some to the south of echo creek. Also I think you can give them wheat and other crops you can grow

I think you were at a water trough and not a feed bin (I could be wrong about that). I started with maintenance = 0 and slow learner and has been a chore to get it to level one! I am restricted on so many things because of that, but not too worried about it. I have been having fun exploring.

@@IslandPotato good to hear. if you havent tried it already you can actually just go and pick up wild rabbits if youre fast enough. i found a pair and their baby and found out that baby rabbits are very slow. dont let the mom get too far away if you feel bad about it plan on letting it go, or else the baby wont be able to find her.

The other feeding station is purely cosmetic for now - no idea why. And those troughs seem to only be for food - and even then pretty sure its bugged. Rain does not fill them, and no way to fill manually with water. I explain at the start of next episode :)
Potato I have a idea, so what about at the start of a video you do a little cutscene with the character writing in a dairy and you just narrate what was written with a little summary of what has already happened and what you plan on doing like it just seems like it would be a nice edition to a playthrough 😅

I have no idea why they have designed them like they have, but the two tile troughs can be both feed and water, and the large 3 tile ones look like they can only be for feed - although they seem very buggy and may not even work at all. The other thing which should be a feeder is purely cosmetic for now. I actually cut me looking at it from the episode, as it confused me as well for a good 5 minutes!
Next episode is 99% done - Was just having a break with family for holidays. Should be out within the next 12 hours or so - depending if I get it sorted before sleep
I would think you would know about feeding farm animals, you were putting the feed in the wrong container that was for water in you need to put the feed in the feeder container which is the other metal structure
I tried to put stuff in there, but didn't seem to be possible to put it in. Will have a play around, but they seemed to eat the food from the floor anyway. Got confused as some containers are multipurpose - the smaller ones and two tile ones can be both for food and water, so I assumed the same for the three tile ones. Whatever the case, if those bigger feeders are non functional, I will grab a two tile one to use when needed :)

Being able to wear the satchel with a Backpack seems to be a mod I tried with base game and wasn't able to with the Military Backpack and satchel.

From what if seen most people put muscle strain at 0.5 so at level 10 strenght its reduced to 0
So you basically only struggle at the very start
