I've lived in Australia now for 50 odd years but the Sik Yuen supermarket was already in Curepipe before I left Mauritius. Back then it was one of the rarest stores of its kind. Does the Curepipe "Hotel de ville" still exists? I know it was falling to bits and I wonder whether it's been demolished and replaced by a modern building.
My favorite town in Mauritius. I went to secondary school here. Hard place to love because of the lousy weather (a bit like London) but when the Sun shines it feels like a nice and cosy place. The street food scene seem to have taken off really well.
I love the place, too. Mauritians often refer to Curepipe as "cold and wet". As a Brit living in Bedford, 60 miles north of London, I can assure you from the weather stats that Curepipe is drier and warmer than London, at least over the course of a year.
Thanks for visiting and sharing. I am going to take a look at your video at royal college where my brother graduated. & let me go and check it out if you have video on botanical garden and trou aux cerfs as well
You got trapped into the Thursday afternoon trap I'm mad about Curepipe. If I was living in Mauritius, it would definitely be my home place To me it's Rose Hill's twin city
Bryan and Ricky, I just LOVE your videos. Do you live in Mauritus? I'm flying from the UK to Mauritius on 14 August for another long holiday, it would be lovely to meet you at some point in the fortnight after, to thank you for your videos. BTW I'm the world's worst at locating accents but in this video Ricky referenced "Australian friends" so I assume you're from Oz? I've spent some time trying to track down where in your videos you visited a clothes shop that offers made-to-measure, and it's in this one, from 14:03. Thanks!
Thank you, You are going to love Mauritius, We are currently in Malaysia, but originally from South Africa. The shop is in Arcade Salaffa, but you can find them everywhere
Hi Bryan & Vicky, Loved the video - you caught Curepipe on a reasonably good day weather-wise! I’ve been looking for a specific video you both did about a company which makes bespoke furniture for kitchens, bathrooms etc. I haven’t been able to find it, could you possibly help me out as we want to visit them. Not that we’re trolling you but we went to Seven Locks Sushi after your vid - it was excellent 👍🏽
We make the videos so people can enjoy the food with us, glad you enjoyed the sushi ua-cam.com/video/XxbMnZIsMiw/v-deo.html this it the wood work video
