Consider connecting with the NHSM Herp Club. They are going out to do a survey in Middle River this Wednesday - June 12. contact Matthew - mfalk@marylandnature.org

My favorite turtle , only have seen one in Elkton . 20 years ago I am going back to see if the habitat is still there Google earth shows a golf course built right on it.
I do not know why private captive breeding is not allowed there are many private breeders who would love to have some to breed and would do a better job than a zoo. Baltimore zoo failed from what I seen. Garden state tortoise would be a good place to start . They are disappearing rapidly. I sure would like to see captive breeding than extinction.

Garden state Tortoise would be great place for captive breading of the bog turtle and yes that would be far better than extinction.

Scott great video I was part of Charlie Stines team with you and Joe, before I moved to AZ where I did telemetry on Desert Tortoises. Retired now sharing my own property with 14 wild Desert Box turtles, and lots of rattlesnakes.
