Thanks. Have always liked visiting Fullerton. That F40PH is one of those they converted into a baggage car with the large sliding door that you can see. Still a rare sight these days I would think.
@@richardk5849 I don’t know the last time that I saw one, so I thought that it would be a good thumbnail. I think that I will head east out of Salt Lake City next time and visit echo canyon and green river, Wyoming as those places are much better. I guess much traffic doesn’t make it past Salt Lake City coming from the west coast and maybe the stuff from the Midwest doesn’t necessarily end up in Oakland.
@@Atsf1976I think a lot of traffic to Oakland comes up and over Tehachapi. As well as the Pacific Northwest traffic heading north from Granger and UP seemingly preferring the old Rock Island route to reach El Paso and then Beaumont Hill into the LA area nowadays, the Salt Lake/Ogden region is quieter it appears. My first time in SLC was 1989 and it was so busy. I have seen the decline since then. Green River has been good to me. We have booked 3 nights there as our longest stop anywhere from the upcoming trip. I will get time for trains and the girls will get time to see the wild horses on those hills north of the town.
@@richardk5849 I look forward to updates. You're right about SLC seeming to be dead. Almost nothing rolls through Helper either. Are you going to go up on that dirt road past the water treatment facility? That was a good location, especially in the afternoon with the sun behind you.
@@Atsf1976yes, will go to that dirt road. It’s a great spot especially for westbound traffic as they start to climb the hill. Only downside is if you get a long eastbound that stops and block your view from westbounds.

@@richardk5849 Maybe some golden hour action climbing the hill leaving town would be nice.
Cool video from this area. Enjoyed and have a wonderful rest of your holiday weekend. Steve
